From Three:

Hi everyone

A quick update from me to end what’s been a very hectic week! We’ve been working really hard on our price plans for iPhone 4, but I know you’re frustrated that we haven’t been able to share more with you.

Just wanted to let you know that we’ll be announcing all of the detail next week, so you won’t have to hang on for too much longer. We might be one of the last networks to show our hand, but I’m hoping you’ll think it’s been worth the wait.

Enjoy your weekends everyone,

Nigel

I wish they'd just hurry up already.

When will we know if Apple stores will be selling white sim-free phones? Ring up the day before?

I'm in a pickle. Do I get to Apple regent street store at 8am on Thursday and hope I'll be in and out in 30 minutes and to work by 9am (even though it's a minimum 30 minute train journey anyway) or do I go after work.

What's the waiting time going to be like at Londons regent street on Thursday morning? I could probably 'dissapear' at work until about 10.30am tops.

I don't think you'll get out in 30 minutes. For the iPad's, there were about 150 people waiting at 12pm, bare in mind you will get activations and stuff, it will take a long time.

regents street will have a massive line. I'm guessing people will start lining up there about a half hour before tube lines close the night before.

Looks like I'll be going there after work then. I might try my local Orange shop when they open. You never know, they might have one in stock.

why is the Orange £30 deal crap compared to O2. You get half as many minutes (only 150) and only 250 text compared to unlimited with O2!

I'll be going onto the £35 Orange tariff but wanted my wife to go onto Orange too but the deal is so much less than O2 I can't justify it.

Are there any advantages to being on the same network (apart from magic number) that I maybe missing? I hope they don't do something stupid like free facetime talking over 3g but only on same network, that would really pee me off!

Vodafone are offering a similar deal to O2 on the £30 tariff, what are orange so tight with this? I can't justify putting my wife on this orange tariff but want to as it's a better signal. What are my chances if I phone Orange and try to get some more minutes and texts?

all shops in london will have a queue, 30 mins isn't likely anywhere.

Not a chance mate. The networks are really rigid on iPhone tariffs, they don't let you haggle at all

Does anyone know if you have to be the account holder to upgrade in an o2 store?

I ask because my contract is under my dads name and with my 3g it was just a case of doing it over the phone as I have account access.

You'll have to sign a new contract so yes....account holder needs to be present!

Yeah, i'm in same situation and asked about 4 times and all answers have been you have to be the account holder.

So I'm signing up a new contract with orange (orange wednesdays + unlimited browsing)

Do we know when Orange are starting to take pre-orders?

edit: and will CPW and Phones4U be taking preorders?

Orange are already taking in-store reservations on the sly. Go in to your local store and tell them you want to put your name down and they'll reserve you one for collection on the 24th. :)

The Brent Cross store is where the party is gonna be at next thurs! 3 of us are going to be there so far, anymore??

I rang up the store and they said the shopping centre will be opening at 8 as well. I guess there's no point queuing beforehand then!

You do I have broadband with 02 but it is in my girlfriends name but we live together so the address is the same and it comes out of a joint account but my name is not the one on the bill so o2 said non

After two days of tracking my wife's mobile data usage (while out of the house), she's used a total (inbound and outbound combined) of 16MB. She says she never used any apps, no Safari, etc. This data was just checking email.

Say this is 8MB per day - 30 days would be 240MB of data use which would come almost right up to the Orange PAYG data limit.

Mine comes to an average of 2MB per day, but I'm almost always in range of a WiFi router, so that explains the reduced usage over my last eight days.
