oh and whoever asked about unlimited orange

FUP >>>>>>>> fixed limits etc

they tend not to be enforced all that much

I know we already know this, but I've just received this email from O2 after I requested my PAC code:

O2 said:
Mike, I understand that you need to have the iPhone 4 but just to inform
you that it will not be released on Pay and Go. This will be launched on
Pay Monthly on the 24 June 2010.

For more information on the same please click on the link below:

http://shop.o2.co.uk/new-iphone/wheretobuy.html#paygo

Hence, I'm sorry to say that you'll not be able to have the iPhone 4 on
Pay and Go.

I understand this isn't the answer that you expected and I apologise for
any inconvenience caused.

Thanks again for taking the time to email us and enjoy your evening.

Emphasis is mine.

I didn't get the chance to reserve one, how early do you think I have to get to grantee that I get it on release?

I am going to the Brighton Churchill Square store and aiming in getting the 32gb black model.

Hows everyone feeling about the contract iPhone prices?? I for one expected them to be a good bit cheaper then they turned out to be. Like take Vodafone on the 32Gb 18 month prices, £309 on a contract not even worth looking at and then £269 on a £35 p/m contract which is still high..... you need to be paying around £50 p/m before the prices start getting reasonable :(

Best none o2 option is the 24 month vodafone/orange £35p/m plan for £219.

Looking forward to seeing three's offering.

sorry if this is a stupid question...but this doesn't affect reservations of unlocked iPhones at Apple stores right?

the issue is I don't understand why they'd sell those but not the O2 locked PAYG ones

3-4 hours

wow

I was hoping to hear something like one hour. :D
I have never been to an Apple launch event, I hope there aren't many people there, as after all this is Brighton.
The store is inside the mall (Churchill Square) I wonder what time they will open the malls doors.

most likely a queue outside the mall

Yeah I'm sitting tight for 3 and T-Mobile to join the party.... It just seems like they are leaving it closer and closer to launch day which isn't good for us who want to shop and get the best deal around. Even £219 isn't a good handset price when considering its a 24 month term which you could get almost any other handset on for free!

I too have never been to an Apple launch day, but I have a reserved iPhone, so will i need to queue with everyone else, to pick it up, or do I simply walk in, pay and collect, and walk out?

two queues, one for reservations, one for not

popped into my O2 store and picked up an iPhone microsim with no problems at all. transferred over almost instantaneously.

bring on thursday!

Can I just check, if I go in to my local O2 store on Monday, with my "fat SIM", I can get it transferred to a micro SIM there and then, and it will be exactly the same contract as I am on now? I am on the "old" unlimited/free foreign texts/free MMS contract, and I don't want to lose that.

Alternatively you can tell then to get stuffed and go to PAYG elsewhere, can't you? If they don't start doing PAYG very very soon they will lose customers, we could easily stick any old sim in for a week or two till the iPhone PAYG sims come out. They are trying to force us to take contracts we don't want.

Can anybody tell me if Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile,... is better than O2 for the iPhone?

I've had a few problems over the past 1.5 years on O2 with my iPhone 3G. This includes late sms, dropped calls, incoming calls not showing up and just going straight to voicemail. The internet over 3G has also been rather slow at times. I live in central London, Zone 2.

Please help, I have to make a decision before picking up my iPhone 4 on thursday :)

Rip off, rip off, ridiculous!

Reconditioned 3GS iPhones are selling at £449 at O2. There is a pathetic 8GB version for £419. The refurbished 3G costs the same as the new one did before. There is no more unlimited mobile internet.

This whole iPhone mania is just crazy. I almost sold my 3G with unlimited mobile internet until September than I realised that Apple has been pushing up prices recently and every time I tried to sell my Apple hardware before a new launch, I saw increasing prices. To me, it started with a white mid-range MacBook. That was still cheaper than the current entry-level plastic MB, despite the fact that in 2006, a 2GHz MB with 1GB RAM was not even the cheapest MB.

This milking is getting annoying. I'll wait until September, than I'll sell this glorified version of an iPod Touch.

has anyone not got their confirmation email for their 14th july and after pre orders? not got mine yet...

Oh and can i just stroll into any official iphone carrier and demand a microsim?
