Hi first reply on the forum but basically I went into my local Phones4U they took a £5 deposit from me and told me that my iPhone would be guaranteed to be waiting for me on the 24th without a shadow of a doubt. I placed a deposit on a 32GB and they said this was totally confirmed.
Okay...
So now it seems that the carriers are doing this whole thing where your pre-order on the 24th to get PAYG, will i still be able to buy it unlocked from apple and use a micro-sim/cutup-sim on PAYG on the 24th?

You can just use the PAYG iPad micro sims for that but offically, i don't know
Did the same yesterday, payed £60 deposit at orange for a black 32gb, the salesman still claimed they are getting whites in too.
A few questions:
1. Will Carphone Warehouse and Phones4u be selling o2/orange iPhone 4's for contracts on the day?
2. Will they take preorders? Are any stores taking preorders?
3. For the whole o2 'existing customer' do you have to be upgrading or can you just be adding a new line.

I thought the Apple Store Brent Cross only had 1 entrance?
As for 7am... erm, I was thinking more along the line of getting there for 9am. 7 seems a little far too early... will have to get my arse outta bed at 6
lol, the shopping centre has loads of entrances.... someone suggested queuing outside the centre but you dont know which door to start at!

I should be at work by then!No! its just what you see there plus a little guide. Are they classing the larger sim shape as the adapter??? By looking at it, it does seem that the micro sim would fit tightly back into the larger one if neededdoes that include the sim adapter?

I have pre-ordered mine from the Apple Online Store - iPhone 4 black 16gb, says deliver on 24th June, I'm on 3 at the moment, but use o2 as a spare so might use this in the iPhone

I'm with O2, so there's no point queuing at an O2 store seeing as they reportedly won't have PAYG stock on launch, so that just leaves the Apple store. I can imagine the queue there will be... fierce
Oh and I should mention I'm gunning for a white one... Just to make it more difficult for myself
A fellow Magherafelt man here. Was in the city today. Went to o2 and Apple in Victoria Square as well as o2 in Corn Market. Positive news call round. Apple however did say that they reckon they will only have enough stock for the pre orders and not much more.
Stuart told me that the Apple store in Belfast has got more pre orders than any other apple store in the uk. I was quite dubious about this but then whenever he mentioned the fact that loads of southerners were coming up to pick up the unlocked phone, then I thought that that was quite plausible.
I was able to confirm that my reservation had been received. And that I could call anytime on the 24th to pick it up.
Also o2 have plenty of micro sims in stock but unfortunately are not allowed to hand them out until Monday at the earliest.
Stuart, the apple assistant told me that the white ones will not be available thru apple as they are going to be solely available to certain networks, of which o2 will be one.
There's meant to be an adapter in there, or go to the store and ask for an adapter.

Problem with Regent Street is they may have camera's outside. I don't want to be spotted by friends and family and then to be known as a geek

I'm on O2 and want to buy a PAYG iPhone, dont mind forking out the other extra money for the Apple Store ones as they're factory unlocked.
However I haven't been able to reserve so will their be any available on the day for me to buy?

Depends on where you go.
I have managed to reserve a 16GB at Best Buy in Dudley, I did this yesterday.
mmm there might be a few, priority to pre-orders in apple store. best way is to go to an apple store early I think, btw my last exam on tuesday
