Just watching the keynote. Of course I followed the live blog but watching it is something else.

There have been quite a few 'WTF how have they done that moments'.

Hate all this having to wait around days/weeks/months after the product is announced to have to find out prices for the UK. I guess this time we should consider ourselves lucky that the iphone is being released at the same time as in the US and we don't have to wait until months afterwards like the iPad. Just wish that we had some prices! How can it take so long to confirm pricing?!?!

I feel sorry for the guys and girls who work at o2, vodafone etc they must be getting bombarded with the same questions day in day out since the release of the iphone!

We don't know yet.

Lots of people (me included) seem to be spamming O2 on twitter, asking them to hurry up and release their pricing.

and O2 are probably loving that hype knowing that they can charge whatever they like and people will still buy it!!

I'm almost 100% sure they already know how much the phone will cost to them. So, why don't they already know the pricing? simple, they are going to try to squeeze as much profit as they can by upping the price to match the interest.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

Maybe one of the big players will surprise us and the other by offering a fantastic deal!!!!!
Mmmmmm maybe not!!

I have it on good authority that o2 will be offering current iPhone contract holders an early upgrade akin to the AT&T offer they're doing (I imagine this will apply to those with a few months left on the contracts)

Oh and I saw one of the MicroSIM packs last night. They come with an adapter to turn it into a normal SIM should you need it.

Not a word on pricing as yet though...

Who's authority?

Didnt o2 already say they will have an early upgrade offer via twitter? I presume this will just be the same as AT&Ts, if your contract ends anytime in 2010, you can have an early upgrade.

Does anyone know:

1. If we order online from apple on the 15th, do we still have to pay the £10 topup for the payg handsets?

2. If we have to top up, then is it possible to transfer this £10 onto a different sim number? i.e. existing payg sim.

Although Im in Finland, I am English, and will be buying an iPhone from the UK, and ship it here, however, like most here, Im also waiting with baited breath for the unlocked payg version pricing.

At a guess I'd say none of the carriers want to be the first to go as it'd be very easy for a competitor to undercut them by a couple of quid or throw in some extra minutes once they've seen those initial prices. Plus now we've got T-Mobile getting in on the action as well that's the four big players all bringing iPhone 4 to market so they'll be a bit cautious.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were waiting for final conformation from Apple as to available units at launch as well.

Not jealous at all. As an O2 preferred customer, I've just realised that I don't have to pay for the iPhone, and I still get it on a 12-month contract at £35 per month. I'll be waiting until October so I can be fairly sure that the people in the meantime get the buggies from the first batches.

Already have an iPad 32GB, and a new MacBook Pro.

While copydeskcat was showing off, it stopped short of embarrassing. I'm mortified for you, though.

I wonder if the iPhone 4 will have unlimited texts on all of it's price plans on 02?, also I wonder if other carriers will follow suit.

As per what he just said...

Do we think it will be iphone upgrade only?

As a blackberry owner (8900) i want to switch to the iphone, but my contract isnt up untill mid Dec 2010, i was going to wait, i mean by december the bugs and things would have been worked out and whatever. but after reading O2 and thier possible deal... i was starting to get excited about the possibility of upgrading sooner!

is the AT&T variation iphone only? i cant remember....
