Thanks for the info, might have to find a way to get there earlier then. I'm guessing it will definitely be a big launch, but wondered if the queue would be less as other carriers are doing the iphone this year? & also the fact that it's only existing o2 customers.

Yeah, true. Bar Thursday, I'm up at 0330 in the morning for work anyway this week , so it won't be that much of a struggle to get there 6ish as I'll be attuned to early starts. Stupid to get there that early I suppose, but last time it saved me time after 8am - I was out the door by 830, while the queue had moved about 3 places, gawd knows how long some of 'em had to wait - far longer than I spent like a numpty in front of a closed shop I expect :)

So Wednesday, the plan is to watch England crash n burn, sink a few bevvies, then the hit the hay at about 10pm. Me = hardcore.

CPW 16GB Black O2 Stock in UK Warehouse

When I spoke to a lovely young lady in my local CPW, she showed me on the system that 'iPhone 4 16GB O2 Black' was in their warehouse in the UK. The had about 7600/7700 units.

Good point. I'd like to be out of there ASAP really. I have a few friends who are going to check the o2 periodically throughout the early hours so hopefully they'll keep me informed and we'll be among the first in queue.

Guys,

I did create a posst for this, but it's slipped to page two and without me bringing it back up, I think it's lost. Perhaps someone could help?

Guys,

I’m sure all this information is buried in about 100 other threads, all over this forum, but it’s not all in one place, and quite frankly it’s getting impossible to search through all this for any meaningful information. We’re getting a lot of questions, all with different answers from people speculating what we need to do. So I’m hoping, those with experience, might be able to help me, and many others out with the following:

Clearining old iPhone
I am still on my first iPhone, so forgive me if this is a simple one, but what do I need to do with my current iPhone 3G before I head to the Apple store Thursday? My Dad is having my 3G and I’ve ordered him a Simplicity sim to go in the phone, that should be here for the weekend. Do I just need to wipe my 3G to factory settings, give it to him with the sim, plug into iTunes and follow the on screen instructions?

Sim Swap
Is this as simple as me going into o2 and getting a micro-sim card. Transferring my number online, or in-store to this new micro-sim to then make it possible to just put it in the new iPhone 4, upgrade my contract, and then I’m ready to go?

iTunes Sync & Transfer of Data
I want all my apps from my 3G on my iP4. How do I go about this in iTunes? Presumably, I will collect my phone in-store on Thursday morning, go to work using my new phone with sim, minus my apps, contact details and what not. When I get home that night, I sync with iTunes and will it ask me if I want to take data from my old phone? I want all my contacts, text messages and everything on my new phone, is it that simple?

Thanks

wrong. I'm on 30 day rolling and have been told by several o2 members of staff that I will keep the unlimited.
They legally have to notify you before altering this.

Same here, o2 staff have told me my contract stays the same (have asked at 2 different shops over the weekend whilst trying to get a microsim early!). I am now using the new micro sim and have checked My o2 which has all the usual allowances. I will be checking it again though.

The iPhones for the uk are already in the country, CPW warehouse already has our stock, was confirmed last week when I checked on our system so seriously don't worry.

At least thats a weight off my mind, however, I want some sort of update!

Looks like it won't leave the warehouse tomorrow at the earliest, wednesday latest.

No white's then? Wishful thinking, I guess.

Nope, no sign of the 'White' iPhone 4 as of yet. Not even listed on their systems!

Also amused me that they had no idea that O2 were only allowing existing customers buy the O2 iPhone 4 handsets! Shouldnt of said anything really! Also they had no idea that handsets ordered via Apple were unlocked/sim free!

Alot of phone shops/chains have been kept in the dark!

Does anyone know what details are required if any to upgrade to a business account? There tariffs seem a little better.

Well that's a lie as White is showing up for Orange on our systems.

my guess is that, first do a backup on itunes of your 3g, then swap over to the ip4. Itunes will probably then put the backed up info onto ip4 (texts, apps, the lot). It ought to be that simple, seeing as its Apple.

However, change over to the microsim as early as possible (mine already done and using in 3g meantime) just in case servers crash on Thursday.

I was told this morning that you'd be classed as a new customer by doing this (and thus, not allowed to buy until the end of July).

This was in an O2 store this morning, so take with a pinch of salt.

CPW has nationally as total selling stock (7,700 max) not too much more than what Regent Street Apple Store has as reserved stock (6,000). Damn - Regent Street is where I am collecting from.

ps - 6,000 figure is from a fellow-poster who says a member of staff let slip to himk over the phone. when ic alled and spoke to them they woulddn't tell me despite my charm offensive - all they'd say is 'we have a lot of reservations'. judging by how long they took to find my name (which begins with A), i'm thinking that this figure may be right.

Well the girl actually navigated through the system and showed me, I have no reason to lie about it. All I am telling you is what I saw on the screen that was in front of me in my local CPW.

O rly? So, hopefully there is a chance of a white on launch day? Granted I'm with O2, but I'm hoping they'd get the same as everyone else in regards to whites.

Apple Cardiff was convinced they are having White. Said they knew how many but wouldn't say how many
