I'm getting conflicting info from o2 as to whether some stores near me are opening early on Thursday (Staff say yes, everyone else say no).

So, as a backup plan I'm looking at queuing at the Apple store instead.

However, does anyone know if they still do the activation thing for you in store (they did when my wife bought a 3GS on PAYG). I absolutely hate it when other people open the box before me (yes, pathetic I know - but taking the wrapper off makes me smile :D).

You know, I think you're right... I also don't have anything in writing to say that they don't expect me to slaughter my first born child as an offering to the O2 gods.

O2 send out replacement sims to people all the time. It doesn't affect the contract. Seriously, stop bugging everyone with your paranoia and go speak to O2!!!

Hey thanks for keeping it polite, if I'm bugging you, then stop reading and replying, It's OK to disagree you know. :)

Got mine from the same store. Was there at 9:15 and there was one guy in front on me
Doing the same thing.

What a small world it is! Hope your activation's come through OK.

Still mulling it over whether to take day off on Thursday as there could be a lot of queuing to do. I think I'll hit a few O2 stores first and keep the reservation at Regent Street (where it's going to be hellish, unless you enjoy the thrill of waiting) as the back-up option.

Hmmm.

Damn... I was just about to impersonate an idiot but you beat me to it... repeatedly!

I'm sorry that you're so upset that O2 didn't choose you. Maybe it's a personal hygiene issue... or maybe you're just not a platinum member.

Give it a rest now eh?

1) got my microsim
2) got SIM FREE iPhone being delivered on my birthday on Thursday
3) it's my birthday on Thursday
4) i'm happy
5) who cares if i have personal hygiene issues in light of 1 to 4

/me very happy

I have been trying so hard to keep up with this board but i see i have almost 30 pages to read. Well just wanted to say my Orange micro sim came in the post this morning & I phoned to transfer my number & it should happen in the next 10 mins, fingers crossed, seemed a bit too easy, I get the feeling it might be the micro sim is activated but not with my number, surely it would take longer than an hour? Anyway heres hoping:p

Success..my number is now changed over to Micro Sim!! All systems go to put it straight into iPhone on thursday!!!

Its too exciting!!

In two minds myself. Tempted to pre-order now but according to Apple website, have to wait weeks for it to ship, (I do not have an Apple store near me really) or just accept I am going to have to wait, hang on and get the white version for my troubles in a few weeks, hopefully without the hassle of awaiting stock like launch day will no doubt bring...

Only other option for myself is buy an o2 PAYG iPhone 4, which as we know, also will not be available for weeks.

Going to wing it in a town im visiting as they have two small 02 stores at 07:50am LOL

Picked up my micro sim today however the online system does not recognise the sim number on the back!!

Anyone else had this issue. Microsim does say its a payasyougo sim and im bringing my contract sim across if that makes sense?? Anyone like to comment as ive used up all three attempts today and O2 cant help directly!

Bag of ****

try only the first 19 numbers, it should work

Got the same email, weirdly the subject is 'iPhone 4 on Three. Pre-order now.' Yet the email suggests that pricing won't be launched for a few days and the site is still down for maintenance.
This just epitomises the mishmash of information we've been getting over the last few weeks doesn't it? ;)

Got the same e-mail.

Would of helped if they actually put the site up before e-mailing millions of customers and inevitably reducing their server to a smouldering box.

did anyone else lose all their visual voicemail after transferring to the new microsim from o2?

I did not lose my visual voicemail but I did have to re-enable call waiting and the diverts to my voicemail as these are sim services. Not sure if anyone else has had to do this but I have previously done a sim swap and have done this procedure before.

Heres a copy and paste from the o2 forums about how to reset your diversts so unanswered/busy or unreachable calls are diverted to voicemail.

1760 should work, but the old fashioned way still works as well:

** 62 * 901 # followed by CALL (DIVERT FOR UREACHABLE)

** 67 * 901 # followed by CALL (DIVERT FOR BUSY)

** 61 *901 # followed by CALL (DIVERT FOR UNANSWERED)

To cancel all diverts set dial # # 002 # followed by CALL

To check the diverts you have set dial * # 21 # followed by CALL

Hope this helps.

well they have over 800 stores so if they're distributing them equally between them it would make sense although I would have thought some stores would get more than others.

Yeah, I don't know much about it. It just scares me! I will be gutted if I can't get my hands on one on Thurs.
