Just phoned up to get my SIM swapped to a microSIM. Was wondering if anyone could let me know how long theirs took so I can get an average. I'm out tonight and need to know whether or not to take the new microSIM and a paperclip out with me.

Picked up my micro sim today however the online system does not recognise the sim number on the back!!

Anyone else had this issue. Microsim does say its a payasyougo sim and im bringing my contract sim across if that makes sense?? Anyone like to comment as ive used up all three attempts today and O2 cant help directly!

Bag of ****

make sure you're not entering an extra 1 after the 8944 bit. The way it's formatted on the card caused me to enter an extra digit the first time. I knew something was up as the full number (with letters at the end) didnt' fit.

PAYG Sims do not work on contracts. Think this was highlighted before with iPad sims being usable for PAYG but not contract.

You need a blank sim for pay monthly only.

On the back of the envelope it says 'Pay Monthly Micro Sim Only'

No mention of iPads on mine at all.

My good friend has told me he had a phone call of O2 today, been upgraded over the phone and will have his iP4 deliverd to his house on thursday.

I phoned O2 customer services and they said they knew nothing of this so it must be a hush hush thing for top customers from some secret department deep in the bowels of O2 headquarters.

Ties in with the guy from pc pro's twitter from earlier.

Very strange!!

Mine took less then 5 minutes.

Just got home and checked the mail.... O2 have done well by me :D

yeah kudos to o2 for being one of the only networks pulling their thumb out. I got my micro sim this morning and have already activated it, all I'll have to do Thursday is slot it in my shiny new phone :)

Just on O2's twitter and someone asked, "@O2 Any news on stock of white 16GB iPhone 4 at launch?" to which O2 replied, "@sevendotzero We're not getting any and you'd need to check with Apple for exact dates I'm afraid."

I guess this is confirmation they'll be no white iphone's on launch? Sorry if someone's posted about this already. I've been following this thread and didn't know about it!

Couple of updates from me...

Firstly, rang my local carphone warehouse and they were taking a list of pre-orders. I was the first person to put my name down for a 32GB, they had 5 already for 16GB.

More interestingly, I rang O2 to get a PAC in case I wanted to switch networks, and the guy on the phone said that before I went out and bought an iPhone on Thursday he would "strongly advise" that I first rang the retentions line and tried to get a deal off O2. Apparently they won't know until Thursday itself, but are fairly likely to be offering extra minutes / cheaper contracts to people who threaten to switch. He also said that they would send out the new phone by next day delivery if I did take a deal. He kept saying that this wasn't confirmed but it was a "very strong recommendation" that I should ring back on Thurs.

After multiple complaints then finally getting o2 customer service to ring the store in York, you can now pickup a microsim. Really bad service almost made me cancel my contract.

Thanks for this - I was in there first thing this morning and told they were only giving out PAYG micro SIMs until Thursday. I'll try again tomorrow!

being a follower of this amazing thread, i just decided to register 'cause i've just received an interesting sms from three:

"From 3: great news. You'll get an iPhone4 upgrade and we've already reserved one for you. Find out more htt://mobile1.threee.co.uk/comms/ip/b"

the link doesn't give any interesting extra information.

I think they sent out this sms because I'm with three (sim only deal) and i registered my interest for the iPhone on their website....

I'm upgrading on Thursday at o2. Should I try and get a microsim so it's ready? Will they even give me one?

Didn't get my micro sim in the post this morning so went to an O2 store and picked one up!

If you're going to an O2 store take along a print out of your Apple confirmation, they need the Wxxxxxx number.

Took O2 less than 3 minutes to transfer me from old to new micro-sim.
