The sim-only plans on Three's website don't list any details about internet allowance? does anyone know if their data limit is 500mb or unlimited?

Well like I said I was meant to be starting at 8 but however been told by head office not to start til 9 now, yet we have 7600~ stock of phones across 800 stores so not sure what's happening there. But i've been told to be there for 8:30 to help prepare the store for it, so just a wait and see game now, however i'll be keeping mine in the back :D (if we even get any Orange ones?) Seriously no idea what's happening.

Is that 16 and 32GB combined??

being a follower of this amazing thread, i just decided to register 'cause i've just received an interesting sms from three:

"From 3: great news. You'll get an iPhone4 upgrade and we've already reserved one for you. Find out more htt://mobile1.threee.co.uk/comms/ip/b"

the link doesn't give any interesting extra information.

I think they sent out this sms because I'm with three (sim only deal) and i registered my interest for the iPhone on their website....

That isn't a valid link. It should be http or https. Can you confirm the link?

yeah kudos to o2 for being one of the only networks pulling their thumb out. I got my micro sim this morning and have already activated it, all I'll have to do Thursday is slot it in my shiny new phone :)

Yep, O2 have soundly impressed me with the slickness of this switch...

Yeah mine has just gone through now. That was pretty damn quick!

3 minutes, then a text saying picture messaging wasn't yet set up and before I'd even finished reading that text, another came through saying it MMS was no set up. Very impressive!

I went to my local Orange store a few hours ago. Last week I'd put my name on an informal list that they're keeping for people interested in pre-orders. It looks as if what others have been hearing and reporting is true. I was told that Orange will not be doing any official pre-orders via their computer systems so I think that anyone who has ordered/reserved an iPhone at an Orange shop has done it via an informal arrangement at the local shop so you just have to hope that the local staff really do set aside the right number of phones for the people on the list and don't mess it up.

One other word of warning. I asked them if they'd been told how many units they'd been allocated for 24th and they said that they didn't know how many units they'd been getting so if any shops have built up long lists of reservations then it's just possible that they've been making promises that they can't keep. If the stories about some CPW stores only being allocated 10 handsets for launch are true then I'm a bit worried.

Where would CPW be in the pecking order as far as allocations are concerned? I assume Apple have a big chunk of the allocation but after that is it likely to be the network's own shops that get decent allocations with only token amounts for CPW and P4U? I'm trying to work out, if CPW have been allocated 8,000 units nationally (as someone reported a few pages back) then what might Orange's allocation be. Also, CPW apparently have 800 UK stores - how many do Orange have?

Are they gonna stay unlocked or they will be locked to particular network after activation?

Your guess is as good as mine too be honest!

No o2 16GB Black how that 7600 over 800 stores, plus web orders etc. As you can see stocks are limited!

Edit: Julian the 7600~ is only for o2 16GB, so still got to wait to find out about orange and vodafone

If your going to an O2 store then they will give you one on the day. That is common sense.

Sure. I assumed that, but was getting confused with people ordering from Apple collecting them.

If poss, I would rather have had it ready as they'll be hammered on Thursday. Oh well.

Couple of updates from me...

Firstly, rang my local carphone warehouse and they were taking a list of pre-orders. I was the first person to put my name down for a 32GB, they had 5 already for 16GB.

More interestingly, I rang O2 to get a PAC in case I wanted to switch networks, and the guy on the phone said that before I went out and bought an iPhone on Thursday he would "strongly advise" that I first rang the retentions line and tried to get a deal off O2. Apparently they won't know until Thursday itself, but are fairly likely to be offering extra minutes / cheaper contracts to people who threaten to switch. He also said that they would send out the new phone by next day delivery if I did take a deal. He kept saying that this wasn't confirmed but it was a "very strong recommendation" that I should ring back on Thurs.

Where the heck can you find the local numbers? I just get the daft automated service all the time!

Just phoned up to get my SIM swapped to a microSIM. Was wondering if anyone could let me know how long theirs took so I can get an average. I'm out tonight and need to know whether or not to take the new microSIM and a paperclip out with me.

No more than 60 seconds for me.

No more than 30 seconds for my housemate.

Your mileage may vary, can take UPTO 24 Hours.

Link to Three's iPhone page?

http://www.three.co.uk/Phones/iPhone

There is no new info on there, though I got an e-mail from 3 saying:

Thanks for registering your interest in iPhone 4 on Three. The positive feedback we've already received from customers, staff and media following our announcement has been fantastic. We will be announcing our prices later this week and we'll be back in touch with more details.
