Correct - pre-authorisation is what they call it.
It will be gone, when/during Shipping.

Three just sent me the same email as before, but this time they dropped the 'pre-order now' part from the subject line.

That's what my happened with me also. I think they've taken the money to ensure it was a legit pre-order and the funds are avaliable![]()
Didn't get my micro sim in the post this morning so went to an O2 store and picked one up!
If you're going to an O2 store take along a print out of your Apple confirmation, they need the Wxxxxxx number.
Took O2 less than 3 minutes to transfer me from old to new micro-sim.
For what its worth... UK orders seem to fulfil from a European distribution centre... so expect to have it shipped on Wednesday and delivered on Thursday. The reason why people in the US have had shipping notifications is because they're being fulfilled in the far East.
Thats just my experience, having ordered various gadgets from Apple... mines ALWAYS come either from down south in England or Holland.
Is for me...
Mmmm 6 hours to download on a 50Mb cable modem I'm getting.... 1kbps!
Yea but why has it gone back into my available funds... surely the hold should stay on unless I cancel it until they take the money.
No, thats normal. It automatically drops off after a few days - pre-auth is just to check you have funds at the time, not a guarantee you'll have them later.
Where the heck can you find the local numbers? I just get the daft automated service all the time!
Yea but what I mean is until today its been on hold and not showing in my available funds, just my account ballance, but now its showing in my available funds.
On their website, use the store finder. You get a national number, but it puts you through to the local branch if you choose the right options (basically, just keep pressing 'other').
And despite what some people are saying here, many CPW are doing a waiting list, mine even offered to call me the night before and confirm.
And they were also willing to put my name down for 32gb.
3 mins and mine will be downloaded, can't wait to have a go on it. a few days to work it all out ready for iPhone 5![]()
Just called o2 to get PAC codes for two 11 year contracts. They refused to even consider altering any iPhone plan. No data, no texts, no minutes.
Vodaphone it is
Ah right... probably because most things I order are dispatched the next day so I never notice.
Yeah, true. Bar Thursday, I'm up at 0330 in the morning for work anyway this week , so it won't be that much of a struggle to get there 6ish as I'll be attuned to early starts. Stupid to get there that early I suppose, but last time it saved me time after 8am - I was out the door by 830, while the queue had moved about 3 places, gawd knows how long some of 'em had to wait - far longer than I spent like a numpty in front of a closed shop I expect
So Wednesday, the plan is to watch England crash n burn, sink a few bevvies, then the hit the hay at about 10pm. Me = hardcore.
big up the DS massive lolHi Kester its S-T-E-V-E from DigitalSpy
Mines exactly the same buddy, hold on the funds is gone. It's so they know you have the funds but they don't tie them up
Steve
Point out how much the handset costs on the below link on a simplicity tariff...
http://shop.o2.co.uk/new-iphone/tariffs.html
o2 are not selling the phone 'sim-free' nor are they selling on PAYG at launch, so ask them what price you'll get it for. I'd be very interested to see what they say. As the website shows, it's only displaying handset prices for the 18/24m contracts.
I think many shop staff are very badly informed.
You can walk into a shop on 24th and buy one of these 30d or 12m simplicity tariffs *for* iphone... but not an iPhone for it (unless they suddenly decide to sell you an o2-locked one for £499/599 which will be pointless).
