Same, and I'm quite relieved now, since my uSIM has malfunctioned, and trying to transfer it is a pain in the ass.

Maybe the suits from Vodafone and Orange will wake up on the 24th and suddenly realise they need to make a decision ..... and as for some of the morons that i've spoken to in the stores recently, well words fail me ! How can you work in one of these stores and NOT find out what is happening with the most public launch of a new phone for ages.

The iPhone 4s are in the UK already.

They can be dispatched on Wednesday night and reach everyone on Thursday.

Whilst like you I hope we get shipping notices by tomorrow it is not in any way a sign we won't get them on Thursday.

Apple won't mess it up. They always deliver preorders on the dates they say.

The panic is being caused by people who seriously believe that Apple would sell a customers phone which the have RESERVED.

How do you think a customer who queues up for hours to be told 'Sorry, your RESERVED iPhone has been sold to some random Tom, Dick or Harry because your RESERVATION actually meant diddily squat.' Would react?

I don't think Apple would really want to put themselves through it.

Do you guys think that I would need to get to an Orange store well before the store opens to get my hands on an Orange PAYG iPhone 4?

My local stores open at 7am and 8am, there both literally 1 minute away from each other (one inside shopping centre and one just outside on the high street)

Much appreciated

Exactly, this is a total and complete mess. Not reflecting good on Apple either. An O2 CS told me that a SIM will ship with the iPhone 4, and this special SIM will allow you to select which carrier you want. I'm still thinking, WTF.

From O2 forums:-
"They will put the insurance up to £15 a month. Head office told me that I was not covered on my 3GS under the 7.50 insurance and refunded it back to me. I now pay fifteen a month."

I been carrying on from my w800i paying £6 a month for my 3G over last 20 months. Does this mean that if i had claimed to have lost my iPhone they would say that i wasn't paying the iPhone correct insurance? If so does that mean if they made mistake as to never insure me then they owe me 20x£6 = £120?

In theory maybe, but doubt they prob would, even though if i lose my phone iv'e now paid for nothing, grrrrr

I'd hate to be THAT employee that had to tell said person. Say to me for instance when I go to pick my RESERVED iPhone4 up at about 3pm Thursday, cus there's no way I'm getting up early to go get it, already having to drive to a different city because mine doesn't have a Apple Store.

I have also called my local Apple store to make sure RESERVED means RESERVED and they have confirmed the phone will be held until end of business or even the next day if I want depending on volumes sold. He also checked my reservation was on the system.

The only thing I'm not getting stressed about is whether my phone will turn up on time ..... I'm sure that will happen without a problem. I suppose I should just chill, and hope everything becomes clearer on the 25th.

I know all Apple stores are saying if you've reserved one you'll have one BUT remember every reservation email has the line in it

"Pre-authorization does not guarantee iPhone availability at an Apple Retail Store. iPhone is sold on a first-come, first-served basis"

so prob best to lay off the big letters as Apple are within their rights to not give you your new iPhone 4 even with a reservation

Iphone 4

I just got a bit worried as in the e-mail i received from apple it said that getting the iphone is not guaranteedas it is on a first come first served basis , which made me think why reserve?

Pre-authorization is NOT the same thing as a reservation. All reserved phones will be held until close of business on Thursday, aside from the occasional error or unforeseen circumstance.

Exept Snow Leopard, which arrived a day late for many people....

Or the 1st for me.

It's just arse covering in case something does go wrong, like perhaps someone steals a phone or one gets damaged in the stock room so they can't fulfil all the reservations. Relax.

Snow Leopard had Ships By x rather than Delivers by x like the iPhone. So they never guaranteed delivery on launch day only that it would Ship by then. I think they did in the US but not the UK.

The other batches are "shipped by".

White White White

Anyone hopeful they will have the white, everyone says they wont but we still have not had an official word from anyone

ive spoken to o2 today and they advised they cannot see why white would not be available and to check my local store who said they dont see why white would not be there on the day

they said call midday wed to check stock and they will tell me what they have and how many

They are now as then they don't have to guarantee a delivery date. But as long as you ordered when it was Delivers by 24th June there should be no reason that its not delivered by 24th June.

The only reason I got into the second batch was due to the horrendous issue trying to make the order. I spent 2 hours trying to pre-order
