Sim Cutting should be fine providing you get the iPhone unlocked. Although during those 6 weeks, if you have time - visit an O2 shop and they will transfer it to a Microsim for you.
I don't know if O2 are forcing PAYG customers onto the new tariffs or not but you'll definitely be able to cut your sim down if you take care - it'll be a fair bit easier for you since you'll already have an AT&T microsim to size up as a template.
However, I thought all US phones were sold locked to AT&T and that they're a pain in the backside to unlock unless they're jailbreaked and a special unlock tool is out? Neither of which is currently possible with iOS 4 or iPhone 4 as far as I know. Or are you just planning on waiting a month or two in hope that they'll be cracked?
They will ship from Ireland the day before don't worry guys
So tomorrow ? Not even today ???
Possibly but when I have ordered anything from Apple it has always left Ireland the day before so that is what I am basing my iPhone 4 order on too.
Apple won't mess up they more than likely have all the phones either in Ireland to be shipped out for pre-orders or within the Apple stores for collection.
Thanks,
But i'm in france, do you think it will be okay ?
Does anyone know if cutting a UK '3' sim down to micro sim size will work? I can't get one out of them and want to use my new phone straight away
The only reason I ask is that the chip part of the sim looks slightly narrower than the diagrams online...
Cheers
M
(PS - mine hasn't shipped yet either, ordered @ 8:15 on the 15th)
Still not shipped and US customers are gonna get theirs a day early!![]()
It is nice for some people to get delivery early, but it kind of pisses me off because it's nice to join in on the hype at the same time :/

I'll just be happy to get a shipped email.
Because;yes there almost certainly in Ireland where the Headquarters of Apple's EMEA shipping is.how are you so sure?
Because;
- Apple ships things from the UK from Holyhill Business Park, Cork, Ireland
- They only have to overnight them to us on the morning of the 23rd (if like the yanks) or 24th if not
- Finally, im only guessing - but shipping ~200,000 iphones from China in 2 days? Not even Apple is that godly
I doubt they'll do it 24th morning, thats a bit late... my guess is either later today or early tomorrow.
