Is anybody going to be in the Que at Apple store Glasgow??

I dont have one reserved and apple told me they had very limited stock for general sale. Can anybody recommend a time to get there ( i dont want to be super early but i cant afford to be too far back in the Q.)

cheers

find out what time they open and get there an hour early.

Americans will not get there's early. They shipped them so early because USA is such a big country. No one will get them before the 24th

Agreed, I remember with the iPad launch they thought they would get them early but UPS were fairly religious in only delivering them on launch day (which was a Saturday over there).
Now, I seem to remember that TNT did actually deliver iPads a day early to a lot of people over this side of the pond.

I'm in the 2nd July batch (ordered first thing on the 16th :() so am hoping that they do actually have enough stock to satisfy some of those orders for launch day too

A LOT of Americans have got emails from Apple telling them to expect delivery on the 23rd. There's no reason to think the same thing will happen anywhere else, but it does seem that this time around Apple is deliberately delivering many iPhone 4s a day early, at least in the US.

It says under the opening hours and close times:

"iPhone shoppers can stop by the store early:
8 am on Thursday, June 24, or
8 am on Friday, June 25."

So, 8am it opens. I reckon queueing will start at 6am. If it was a nighttime launch like the first iPhone when it was 6.02pm, queueing started at 7am.

Id just aim to head in there for 6am if you are desperate for the phone. There will be some phones for sale the following morning as well with any reservations that havent been picked up available for sale.

My friend received his iPad one day early and he lives in the UK. So never say never to Apple shipping stuff early.

not yet shipped, estimated shipping date

My status says not yet shipped but estimated shipping say 24 june with delivery 25-28th june. Is this what its saying for everyone who ordered on the 15th? Looks like i wont get mine till after the 24th

It wasnt a worldwide launch though. The iPad had already been out in the USA for several weeks before it came out here.

It didnt really matter if the iPad's got delivered a day early in the UK since people already had them shipped from the USA. Even Radio 2 DJ Simon Mayo said on his drivetime show that his got delivered a day early and they were all playing with it during the show on that day.

Apple will not ship the iPhone a day early. It will be delivered on Thursday. The courier company will know not to mess it up else they'll risk any future delivery contracts with Apple for such a big launch.

I also got my UK iPad a day early but that wasn't a worldwide new product launch, Apple had released the iPad weeks ago in the US and there were already plenty floating around in the UK from people buying in the US.

Apple might deliver US orders early (to help spread load on the AT&T systems?) but equally they might instruct the couriers to hold them all at the local depots and not load them onto the final delivery vans until launch day. Apple have a history of doing that too so, until we hear tomorrow from the US, we really don't know for sure what will happen.

I've just sold my 3GS 16gb on ebay and I want to get an iPhone 4 - but I can't afford it till pay day (30th June)

What's my chances of being able to buy a sim-free one next wednesday

I can't pre-order it as the apple store is saying 14th July, I can't book and reserve because they've taken the iPhone off of the book and reserve list.

Will O2 stores be selling the phones sim free if I pop into my local O2 and try to reserve one for 30th June??

Was that a preorder too?

My mate preordered an iPad and got his a day early.

Difference being it was already out in the US where as this is a global release I guess.... still wouldn't rule out some getting there hands on the iPhone 4 tomorrow

Only Apple are selling the simfree ones currently but you could just try your luck!

Well, my status is still at Not Yet Shipped and delivers on 24th.

The iPhones are definitely at the Ireland Hub, or maybe even making their way to UK mainland by now. I heard some deliveries will also be made a day early to try and stop all the activations so the servers won’t go down.

CR*P

So my only chance really to get one then is wait until next week and start ringing around Apple stores to see if they've got stock in? :(

Or go to O2 and do an early upgrade on my contract - which I don't really want to do as it will tie me into another 18months :(
