Right, I work for CPW in a smallish shop in a market town. We are not expecting ANY iPhone 4's!!!!!! Also staff are not allowed to purchase so I went to the local o2 and orange shop. Orange are only getting 1 16gb and 1 32gb in stock and o2 wouldn't give exact number but they are getting few!

Considering these facts I would be getting to the network store very early! and if I had a pre-order with Phones4u I would be seriously worried as they are quite low down the food chain compared with the other stores. :(

Only the top 100 stores are likely to get a reasonable amount of stock (think 20-30!)

Also it's been confirmed that CPW will also only be doing upgrades for o2 not new connections.

key work being expecting. none of the stores know yet, including yours.

Woohoo O2 have just called and they are sending out my iPhone 4 to my home address on Thursday updated my contract and applied my F&F discount that my company has dropped so the saving is bigger than I thought. (yes I know I am restricted 750mb)

i am currently on vodafone sim only and got my voda micro sim today.

From looks of order form, it's just an ipad sim.

Just need my ip4 now, although it is now preparing for shipment :)

If I'm buying a sim free iPhone I don't need to take utility bills and all that razz do I?

I shouldn't think we'd have to, I think we only need to bring email confirmation.

Is there a clear word on cash vs debit/credit card? I know Apple said after the iPad debarcle that they have changed, just wondering if this is worldwide?

Similar question from me. Can I activate my phone thru iTunes if I DON'T have it connected to the internet?

(I will be at work, and cannot connect my laptop to the company networks due to security restrictions).

O2 Simplicity and unlimited data

I read this earlier in a thread.

"O2 are obviously changing their tariffs to get rid of unlimited data and they will also be removing unlimited data from the simplicity tariffs after the 24th of June."

Can someone please confirm if this is the case? Totally blows my plan out of the water.

I have a 3G on O2 presently. After completing my initial contracted period some time ago I switched to O2 simplicity iPhone or whatever it's called, 20 quid a month, monthly rolling contract, unlimited data. Was going to buy the unlocked iPhone4 from the Apple Store on Regent Street - £500; convert to a micro sim (done already). Job done, no contract and unlimited data.

If the quote is right - I got it wrong?
What's the best thing to do instead, is the quote right - first I heard?

I think I'll just take my driving license and a bank statement just in case.

I plan to pay using Mastercard. This shouldn't be a problem.

I have this problem myself.

I plan on nipping out to Maccy D's or Wetherspoons for the free wifi.

I presume that would apply to simplicity contracts that are taken out on or after the 24th. Anyone signied up to Simplicity before that date will be subject to the t&cs at the time they signed up.

At least that's what I was told when I took out my Simplicity 12 month contract last week.

Do what I did and sign up to a new contract for 12 months. 12 months of locked tariff :D

Got my microsim sorted. All ready and waiting for Thursday :)

How long did that take from the time your ordered mate?

I called them yesterday and they said they sent me one out. Still waiting on it tho.

when you say this, does this apply to pay as you go o2 customers also. The person who will be putting my contract under their name already has a contract with o2, but will need a new o2 line put onto their name, could this be done? And finally, if I order online can I start a new contract with o2? Thanks in advance.

You can activate on your work computer but you wont have any of your contacts, emails, apps etc

That's fine, I just know that the activation is going to take ages so would rather get that done at work so I can have more time in the evening to play with it! (assuming I get one that is!)

Can't plug my laptop in at work which is a bit of a bummer

Done the exact same as you, i have asked in 2 different o2 shops if using the microsim will affect my tariff and both said it had no affect.

IF they did do the dirty on me then i will be off to another provider! Waiting to see what 3 and Tesco offer. But there is also GiffGaff who offer full unlimited data using the o2 network.

You'll be fine mate, a lot of us including me are on the Simplicity plan. Aslong as you signed up before 24th June you'll be OK

Carphone Warehouse text received, if you registered with them they will email you tomorrow to advise what stores have the initial stock. So it sounds like it will be very limited!

Wheres this number of 5000 come from for CPW?

I saw a guy post a bit back that a lady in CPW showed him they had 7700 16GB Black o2 units in their warehouse?

Also I put my name down at my local Orange store and they rang me today telling me they know how much stocks coming in, and have put one away for me, so I no longer have to deal with P4U!

Another thing guys, does anyone know who gets priority over stock? Do the network stores get favoured over the likes of CPW and P4U?

:)

Not 100% sure yet TBH, but my gut feeling is no and no online orders for the moment AFAIK. :(
