Yeah, to be fair Apple DID say that NI customers wouldn't get delivery on 24th.... I know this because it is the reason why I decided that I will be hopping onto a bus at 5:50am on Thursday to get to the Belfast Apple Store. ;)

Perhaps it's my fault for taking Delivers on June 24 to mean that the phone, ordered over this flashy interweb thingy, will be delivered to me on the 24th day of June in the year of our Lord Two Thousand and Ten.

Even if (and it has happened before) I managed to miss something on the site, a confirmation email telling me that it would be here on the 24th which sat happily in im inbox until today, when its veracity was rent asunder by a subsequent email (apparently unnecessarily correcting an earlier email which I am now told was a massive spoof) which now loiters, read but unloved in my account.

That is not good and I feel I am entitled to weep a tear for the death of my trust in emails from Uncle Steve in Cupertino.:(

i reckon the delivery delay is another Apple @rse covering exercise, along with no guarantee of getting a reserved iphone instore etc etc.

Still a good chance of getting on the 24th, if not then i would expect the 25th.

If not the 25th then i will go in a huff and buy an HTC Evo 4 (no, hang on its not out here and the battery lasts 4hrs), or a Desire (no didnt like that) or a Nokia (hmm, so many to slag off!). Looks like i will just sit and wait in a bad mood!

Is your order showing as preparing for shipment or not yet shipped?
Mine shows 'prepared for shipment', but I'd expect mine should be one of the first sent out, as I ordered it the second the preorder page was usable. I'm not too bothered, if it doesn't come in time I'll be claiming a nice little Apple Store gift card. :D Regardless of what it says on the Apple website, Apple know that the only place on the UK mainland (which includes both Britain and NI) that is exempt from most couriers delivery times is the Scottish Highlands.

Edit: And if they feel that their couriers can't do a good enough job, it's time to take their custom elsewhere.

I just spoke to Vodafone.

I got the same old, 'keep an eye on the email' blurb. I asked if I would be able to get one on Thursday either delivery or pick up from store. They'll have to take all their orders tomorrow

I asked about transferring my wife's over for her, as she is at work and can't call them. They transferred me to customer services and she set up a password so I can change her account on her behalf.

Good luck my friend, I shall be forming a queue outside my local O2 store around the same time!

Yep i saw that as well, I got one reserved in victoria square so gonna drive down at 10. Thinking of sticking it on fleabay tho. There making cracking money on there

i could wait a week for a payg

Just spoke to a guy at Apple Trafford.

He told me for PAYGO/ sim free customers they just need to take themselves. No paperwork required.

I just wanted to clear it up because on the email I had from Apple it told me what I needed to take and mentioned Sort Code & Account Number for PAYGo. :S

btw, i read on here that the Belfast Apple Store is going to be one of the busiest in the UK due to lots of people from Ireland coming up.

Just checked the Apple Ireland store - they dont have it for sale.

So.. I have reserved a 32gb to pick up from the Apple store in Chapelfield, Norwich. I have never picked up an Apple product on Launch day so have no idea how it all goes.

You think I should go down first thing just for the experience of launch day or wait till later in the day?

Any strategic answers would be appreciated :D

Shaky.
I have a 32GB reserved at Chapelfield too. Could you go down about 6 and then post on here what the queue is like? Updates every 5 mins would be fine
:)

Agreed.

I'm Prepared for Shipment also.

Actually, the phone is prepared for shipment. I, meanwhile, am fit to be tied...:p

Got a call from orange this after noon too, they said i had been selected as one of there business customers who qualify for a iPhone for on thursday, i got a 32gb for £130.

not bad i think :) being delivered thursday :D

i also got this email

Hello Ian
The iPhone 4 will be launched here in a couple of days and everyone’s getting very excited. As you can imagine, there’s been so much interest worldwide that there’s limited stock available, so we can only let a small group of business customers reserve theirs ahead of everyone else. Luckily, as you’re eligible for an upgrade now, you’re one of the select few.
However, it isn’t possible to reserve your iPhone by calling us. It’s only available from our business team who will be calling you very soon on the mobile number you registered to invite you to place your order. When we ring, it will appear on your handset as either ‘number withheld’ or 07973 100 194.
We’ll make sure your phone is one of the first to be sent out from 24 June.
Best wishes
Orange

Yeah i would guess that is the case, I am heading to Belfast in the afternoon of Thursday (CHINA CHINA for lunch - SCORE), so I might pop in and see the bedlam whilst using my shiny new iPhone 4! :apple:

:p That sounds fair...want me to send my girlfriend over to give you a back rub too? :D
If she could pick up my phone and bring it with her that would be good too :)

I'm actually planning to go down about 10. Seems like a fair balance of queue avoidance and not waiting all day.

When you come into the Apple Retail Store, we'll get you activated fast at our iPhone Activation Zone. Before you leave, we'll get you set up to make calls, browse the web and receive personal email right on the spot.

Do you have to get it Activated by Apple? I'd rather just do it when I get home. I mean how can I make calls when my contacts wont be on the phone, nor will my email address with my email contacts?

You make a fair point.

I think I will just go in and buy my phone, if they offer them services i will politely decline because I'm more than capable!
