If she could pick up my phone and bring it with her that would be good too :)

I'm actually planning to go down about 10. Seems like a fair balance of queue avoidance and not waiting all day.

Cool cool. Let me know if you need anything from sainsburys for breakfast too :p.

Your timing Sounds sensible tbh. I just have no idea how these days work at all.

Pretty Excited though. Tempted to go down early just to be part of the buzz. Just see how easily I can get out of bed after doing a 9am-11pm shift the day before.

I bloody hope O2 have 32GB models in stock Thursday, else I will be wasting a chunk of time. As I get up incredibly early any way (13 month old son) I will be getting up half hour early at 4:30 AM to get to O2 for around 5:15. That's got to be early enough?

Sad thing is I probably won't even feel tired at that time of day.

I will be bringing one of those fold-out tripod chairs. May as well look a proper plonker....

I'm bought my iPhone 3G from carphone warehouse in sep 08 with o2.

Will I still be able to upgrade my contract in an u2 store? I've heard conflicting information that I'm a earphone warehouse o2 customer and not actually a o2 customer.

Can anybody with experience clarify the issue?

Do you have to get it Activated by Apple? I'd rather just do it when I get home.

Mikey, I feel the same as you -I always prefer to do this stuff myself.... HOWEVER, I have a suggestion (based on experience) -make sure that you check the new iPhone as carefully as possible before you leave the store, or just let them do the activation so that it gives you a chance to check it out for yourself..... the reason I say this is because if you get a faulty iPhone 4 (could be something major, could be a dead pixel or scratch) and leave the store with it, it could be literally weeks until you get a replacement, especially with the ultra-high demand this time around.
I hope this advice helps, it is worth considering ;)

Gutted.

Ordered on-line on 15th from a really poor GPRS Vodafone dongle as i was on holiday in wildness remoteness. Order went through 6.35pm - e-mail arrived later that night saying "Estimated Shipping: Delivers on June 24th"

Kept looking at that e-mail with a smile all week as i read the tales of people having to get up early and queue shenanigans!

All well - this afternoon, order changes to Prepared For Shipment. Yipee.

Then i just getting an e-mail saying that i live in an area where transit times are slightly longer and hence my order is expected to be delivered after the 24th!

I live in an area when transit times are slightly longer? I live slap bang in the middle between Edinburgh and Glasgow!

C'mon Apple. I've been all smug all week knowing i'll get my phone Thursday laughing at friends who are having to queue at the Apple and O2 stores in Glasgow early on Thursday...

Get them sent out now if you can't promise delivery for Thursday! Please!!!

What time are CPW opening? My local one never picks up the damn phone.

I spoke to the Worcester one today (after a long wait) and they just said normal time. I didn't even ask about the iPhone 4 there as its 9 o clock for Worcester and I've already pulled a favour with starting work late

Who do you pay bills to CPW or O2?

I seem to be the only one to have an issue with the microsim swap over. Got my microsim today from o2 shop in Bangor, went online to the site and followed the steps...

20 mins later my SIM went inactive, popped in the new one, and its inactive as well.

Now both my sims are inactive... been about 90mins since the swap over

Anyone else experiance anything like this?

i just got the same email even though i am not in the hard to deliver area (and i should know as i work for DHL) ! (i am in west central scotland just outside glasgow).

my order says "prepared for shipment" on the US order site but still says "not yet shipped" on the UK site (although it does still say "delivers on 24th june").

now, i would just go and get the reserved one at the apple store, but the order now can't be cancelled and they have already taken the money.

i take it people in exeter are not gonna be affected by this courier excuse??? surely a big city in south west england will be ok??? please?? someone reassure me :D

This release is a farce. I don't get how CPW can say they'll have stock, then this article says anyone queueing will be wasting there time. As far as I know, they aren't doing pre-orders so do I bother going to CPW or not?

my orange one took 2 hours....she told me to switch it off for that long but i tried 1 hour and switched it on but wasnt working, switched it off for another hour and it worked......dunno how o2 works but i'd just switch it off for an hour with ur micro in and see what happens after that.

I'm in Reading, UK and my pre-order status still says "not yet shipped"!!!

Hmmmm...

I pre-ordered at 11:40 in the morning on June 15th.

That stopped me ordering from the online store as it said scotland would not get it for launch from them so i put in a reservation with the glasgow store. I never knew Linlithgow was that much in the wilderness.
