I live in central Edinburgh and would be furious to receive one of those emails. Edinburgh has both a TNT, UPS & DHL hub - Edinburgh airport. All my past orders from Apples have been on time.
I would say you stand more chance going v early on the 25th for any missed pre-orders....
I read one guy lived between Manchester and Birmingham. Thats not on your list......

if you are, then i highly doubt it, the demand for this product is huge, it will likely sell out after a few hours. say mid-day.

Don't panic, I'm sure they'll take your money.
Mine was taken when I first ordered and now it's back again, it will be gone again once the phone arrives.

I think I was the first to post about receiving one of these emails, and I live between Manchester and Birmingham, about 20 miles from the nearest UPS hub I think.

Did you read any other part of your order except 'add to basket', 'pay' and 'confirm' ?!!
The small print reads :
"Delivers on June 24th excludes Channel Islands, Isle of Wight, Isle of Man Scotland and Northern Ireland. iPhone 4 pre-order limit: two per customer."
Honestly! This thread with be 20k by thursday
so why say "delivers by june 24th" on order confirmation? and on the order status page ?
On Apple website fine print yes. However I have spoken to Apple several times since, to check on order status (crap internet) and every rep has said that they only say that for Scottish Highlands and that Edinburgh was about 80-90% OK for 24th delivery.
No email yet for me but if I do I will be leaving to go London Friday for four days how long do they hold the parcel for before returning to sender

Like i have already said, this Apple covering their @rse as their couriers wont be able to cope with all the deliveries in one day. The only place in the UK where courier delivery takes longer is north of Inverness (where the main depots are, then takes another day to get distributed from the depots there).
After Apple took peoples orders they were given a delivery date of the 24th. Mines still says the 24th! What a liberty
I expect, as is the norm, despatch emails will be sent out tomorrow, then we shall see whats going on.
Can someone PLEASE tell me if Apple, Carphone Warehouse, or phones4u will be setting up new o2 contracts on launch day. thanks.
And also, if CPWH do have 16,000, that's about 20 per store if you divide it straight by the amount of stores. Still a reason to queue if you ask me.

So the money has back to your available balance now? Cos I am not sure whether it was the same happen, cos it didnt show anything on the statement.
and the Apple Expert on the Apple chat just told me :
When you place your order, Apple request authorisation to charge the order amount from your credit card company. Once we have received approval, Apple reserve the amount on your card until all items are available and your order has shipped. Your card will be charged when your order has shipped.
