Signed up for iPhone Simplicity today and was given a microsim and told to go to swapmysim.o2.co.uk

Gone there, put in new number, and it's saying it's not recognised.

Any ideas?

I had to put my current numbe in then I got sent a code on the phone. Then I entered the serial number for the sim (printed on receipt but likely on sim). I was already on O2 though.

I am in the same predicament but mine was transferred over from orange to o2 on a 12 month simplicity.

Speaking to o2 earlier they said after 6.00pm it should recognise the new number maybe it is the same for you and it's not updated properly on their systems yet?

Let me know if you get it working...I would've thought they would have done it in store though!

488 pages so apologies for not having the patience to see if this has already been asked. (I'm sure it has).

Going to O2 for 8.02 tomorrow morning to upgrade.

I'm going to take:

My account number on a scrap of paper
Two forms of proof of address (bank statement/utility bill)
Two forms of photo ID (driving license/passport)
Proof of signature (debit card)

Do I need anything else?

I've already recycled my 3GS so I can't exactly bring that along!

After ordering a supposedly iPhone 4 micro sim on Monday from O2, I received it in the post today, only to find out it was a friggin iPad micro sim the numpty had sent out, so I couldn't use it to swap sim on the o2 website.

What a dick!

So i had to miss the first half of the england game to go out of my way to get to an O2 store and pick one up!

That one worked out fine and new sim worked within 1 or 2 minutes!

Roll on tomorrow with the iPhone 4 delivery!

ARH im so stuck, my preorder is coming tomorrow (32GB) but the 32GB 12month £20 contract for £430 from Tesco is excellent.

Should i stick with my iPhone and go with o2 Simplicity £15 a Month or GG £10 (Would need to cut sim down)

OR

Tomorrow go to my tesco (Mobile) buy a iPhone contract and pay £670 in total and Sell my Preorder on eBay for atleast £700 to those idiots

Should be sweet but instead of writing down your Acc Number, why not just bring one of your o2 bills?;)

For £15 (on a 12 month contract, granted) I get 300 minutes and the same texts and internet from O2's simplicity...

That's true and is a good deal, but for light callers like me it's perfect because we don't have to sacrifice texts and data just to get a cheaper monthly price which is often the case on other networks. GG also offer unlimited calls and txts to other GG users without even having to top up for 3 months but of course the benefit of this is quite dependent on the number of people you know on GG.

do it now before the servers meltdown then just use the sim adaptor in your old phone until tomorrow, otherwise may be a couple of days depending on what happens tomorrow

You don't even need a sim adaptor! Just don't push the micro sim out of the larger sim until you get your phone tomorrow which allows you to put it in your current phone until you get your new one ;)

the o2 guy i spoke to just said passport and a card with signature on i.e. debit or credit card.

guess driving licence would do no harm as it has your address on.

So i called UPS and was told that this means it didnt dispatch yet and i should contact apple :s :s i asked him if packages will still be collected today and he said he is not sure but might happen and if so it will update on the website later on. I am not sure what is the case now??! I hope i get it tomorrow as i took a day off from work. On apple's web site it says deliver 24.06.2010

Second option. Where is your local tesco? As not all of them are receiving stock unless they are a big and busy store.
