no way, im in the same area as you and have both the same issues as you, that is weird.
They've oversold by forty-nine thousand units? Dear god either they overestimated their incoming stock levels by a massive margin or Apple short-changed them by a huge amount in order to meet their own reservation requirements.
You will. My last 4 UPS shipments have changed from Billing Info Received to origin scan any time from 6pm-12am, just gotta wait it out.

i've been watching for updates using the 'Posted' app when at work! Its supposed to push message when there is an update, but its not been working. But my update came through at 1630, and all of a sudden its in Tamworth.
On a different topic, i have got the Zagg cover to protect ip4 from scratches, and will get a bumper (which will stop the edges of the zagg from peeling)

I just called CPW to check on my preorder that they took early this afternoon since I hadn't received an order number or tracking number or anything like that.
It turns out CPW have sold way more phones than Apple have given them so nearly all of their preorders have now been cancelled. They're apparently trying to call everyone to let them know but they have about 49000 preorders that have been cancelled.
In a word, it looks like we're buggered. If you've got a preorder with CPW I recommend you call them up and check now.
wow what a collosal cock up. They really shouldn't of offered pre orders unless they were sure they could supply them. Shoddy service once again from CPW.

That's an insane number of preorders cancelled. Thankfully I've decided to wake up at 5am and disappear off into the morning to start queuing at CPW with my laptop and mobile internet dongle.

Some people have been posting that for reserve and collect tomorrow you can only pick up the selection you made. e.g if you selected contract then you can only have a contract one and likewise if you selected sim free you can only have a sim free one. anyone know anything different to this.

What time does their upgrades team close? I won't get home until just after 9pm
IIRC if you chose 32GB Black, you can only pickup a 32GB black. You can however change from SIM-Free to Contract etc, as they're all the same handsets.

they're still making calls too - a lady rang me about a minute ago and promised me a phone for delivery tomorrow.
I'm planning to go in the unreserved queue to try and swap to white if it turns out there are any - I think that seems like the right thing to do. If I can't get a white one i'll switch to the reserved queue and pick up the black one.

Surely they would have stopped calling if this was the case?
Has anyone else rang CPW or had the call from CPW and verified? What time does their call centre close?
I have a pre order for Voda or o2 at Phones4U for 7.45 tomorrow so I will go there if that is the case.
I know - oh well, now just have to decide whether I can wait for two weeks or so with my extremely slow 3G (which seems to have got even worse post-iOS4 update)
The guy said it was definitely cancelled. I'll probably call up in a bit and try speaking to someone else to double check and will try to check my fiancée's order. I did notice that the money hadn't come out of my account either.

That's very strange. Maybes they wanted pre orders then say it's delayed so they get our business? I am probably thinking too much into it lol
You would have thought CPW would have had an order of about 50k units.
I will try phoning them when I get in but I imagine that they will be closed about 9.30.
