The U.K. iPhone 4 Thread

Was your contract a non-iphone contract? I had alot of trouble with them. They all said different things.

No, mines a pay monthly iPhone contract. I've spoken to some really helpful people, and some really unhelpful people. I guess it just depends on who you end up with. Good luck with it though.

Hey people
I just checked my TNT tracking, and it was at "Nuneaton" at 12:13 today, just checked it now and its now at the "Northampton Hub" at 20:04...
Anybody who has TNT delivering theirs also got the same location and their delivery status as "Shipment In Transit" ?
Just wanted to know, as there are a lot of people with UPS delivery, seen not many TNT deliveries goin on...
:D So excited!!

Yes this is exactly the same for me, mine's at the Northampton Hub. I'm surprised it's not already at the Reading hub... wtf... I'm in Reading!!! Wonder if they'll deliver it tomorrow?

Will the Apple store have the bumper cases in stock tomorrow?

Although anything is possible, Apple should have plenty of stock of iPhone 4 accessories.

Anyway, that's me, I'm off to bed in a bit to join a queue tomorrow morning. I'll see some in that queue at the Bentall Centre.

I wish all of you queueing tomorrow the very best of luck. I hope you come away with the device you're hoping for!

Maybe thats why they were so difficult with me. Thanks :)

I'm in Reading too, and have the same tracking status. I've been reassured that the phones should be delivered by tomorrow by TNT CS (who were actually pleasantly helpful).

Does anyone know if O2/Orange/CPW/Tesco stores (basically any iphone 4 stockist) will be selling the bumpers tomorrow???

As l shall rush out and buy one to prevent that awful signal phenomenon people are having, god Apple are really screwing this launch up. Will be furious if I can't touch my phone for fear of losing signal and then having yellow blobs on my screen!!

TNT Update: My tracking has just come up with saying it is at the Northampton Hub at 22:33. I live in Leeds, so Northampton is actually about 20 miles FURTHER from Leeds than Nuneaton. It better come tomorrow!

From doing some research it looks like UPS do an overnight delivery from Tamworth to Scotland (gets in (somewhere) about 7 ish), so there is still a slim chance of delivery arriving tomoz. Will know better in morning!

Aside from my persistent moaning on the shipping progress of my phone. You have to have respect for the men and women who drive through the night to give us our phones :) Check out what time my iPhone left this evening for Scotland. it's due for delivery on 24th - that's a blo*dy long drive!

We salute you UPS drivers!

Here's me being nice about drivers and you've worried me again. UPS did say to me that it would be on track for 24th. I believe UPS would have updated the delivery date if their was a chance of us not getting our phones 24th/tomorrow.

Remember: the status still shows - 'In Transit - On Time' & 'Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 06/24/2010.'

These statuses can change anytime their is a scan on a package so would have done should they have missed the last lorry up north

Then im sure you will get yours tomorrow :) , UPS do keep delivering after 5pm btw.

Mines is scheduled for delivery on the 25th and am just trying to work out from the logistics the chances of it arriving on the 24th.

Here's to tomorrow :) If I'm due tomorrow then I don't see why they can't 'nip' over to your house too. I'll let you know when my status changes. Hopefully Scottish scan AM tomorrow

Yours left Tamworth at 10.12 - Mine's left 10.51 - also enroute to Bonnie Scotland. Must be a few trucks heading North full of iPhones!

Would a passport, photo driving license + counterpart and a debit card be sufficient enough to open a phone contract with Orange?

I understand your dilemma, its the same as mine. Its the OP's assertion that O2 have PAYG microsims i don't understand

I'm not clear on why people are saying O2 don't have PAYG iPhone microSIMs. Just yesterday I walked into an O2 store in Sheffield and picked up 2 microSIMs - one for my contract and one PAYG for my son. The PAYG SIM clearly states it is a Pay & Go Text & Web microSIM for iPhone on the packaging, and contains a microSIM (same style as my ontract one - ie a fullsize SIM with a small inner microSIM to break out when needed. I take this as clear proof that O2 DO have PAYG microSIM cards available for the iPhone 4.

Northampton Hub info...

Northampton round here is a major hub for not only Couriers, but Distribution, and also there is a Rail Freight Terminal.

If your package goes to Northampton, then it's going onto somewhere nearer to you, but bear in mind that that is a good thing, because it's a well known distribution point for many companies.

One more get up to go...One more get up to go...One more get up to go...One more get up to go...One more get up to go...One more get up to go...One more get up to go...One more get up to go...One more get up to go...

...and it's my Birthday in the morning too!

Sorry i didnt read which store you had ordered from. Mine was in Reading.

I do have the paper but cant say i think its going to be worth much.

That's what I'm thinking, mine was in Chatham, Kent; CPW have announced they've sent stock there, but the contracts with O2, Orange & Vodafone, bar the Simplicity deal with O2, are awful.
