PAY&GO

It's a white sleeve that says O2 Micro-SIM, and then a blue envelope inside that has "O2 Mobile Broadband for Apple iPad" on it. Still works on the iPhone though.

Wont work...... Tried them. They are already active but your number swap wont happen!

There are blue iPhone payandgo micro sim packs, but the stores dont know/ask what ones you need.

Just cut your sim!

I might do that.

But can I go back and get a proper one and it will transfer then?

Woo!! I just tried turning both of my phones off again at the same time and then turned my new iPhone on and it said it's activated and has signal!! I'm guessing purely a coincidence. Chances are if your sim has been transferred then your phone doesn't repeatedly poll the O2 network to see if it's live so turning it off and on forces a check which is why people are seeing it activate after turning it off and on.

Just as I read this mine suddenly activated. Looks like they are getting through the backlog now, well on O2 anyway.

The SIM-only 3 plans are not 24 months, they are 1 month, or 12 months.

However, I've since been reading up on 3 on the Internet and it seems that everyone HATES them. Have read through some peoples transcripts with customer service reps that are truly horrendous. Might be best avoided after all.

I was on 3 a couple of years ago. They were fine until I needed to cancel, took a 2 hour phone call, they just wouldn't have it that I didn't want it anymore.

Buying iPhone

Guys, I seriously want an iPhone 4, it may not be true, but 3 reps told me not to expect stock until mid-july - august.

Has anyone got 2? or just got one and don't want it (who am I kidding!)? and willing to sell it to me?

You probably paid more (unless like I said you got 2) but I can pay £350 right now, it ain't much. I'm on a tight budget.

Guys, quick question. Apologies if its already been asked, but I'm not sure.

I bought the sim-free iPhone today, does that mean its unlocked at all times, or now I'm on o2, is it just locked to that network?

Mine was delivered this morning but I had to wait to get home this evening to see it.

I've upgraded from a 16gb 3gs which was only had a few mb of free space on it so it's nice to be able to have some apps and the full music collection on the phone again.

My screen looks like it's un affected by the yellowing but my signal definitely drops when holding the corner, I've got the bumper though which seems to sort it out.

We heard this while in the queue, not expecting anything until towards the end of July BUT may get one or two in drips and drabs but it will be random.

Anyone else STILL waiting for UPS?

I'm by London Bridge station but nothing. It's been "out for delivery" since 6am! I'm not impressed with UPS

Ah, sorry mate, misread it. I'm just a bit perturbed by the amount of people more than happy to sign up to these massively long contracts.

I've got one on order from apple and it says shipped by 14th July. The store now says shipping in 3 weeks. Can't quite work out the difference..

I also ordered one for 14 July, I think they changed the shipping time to 3 weeks means that we will get the phone earlier than 14 July, since 15 July is the end of 3 weeks from now.

No worries.

Just called O2 retentions since I've been put off 3 a bit by all the horrendous feedback I've read online. Tried to get a deal out of them but they weren't particularly budging... however, they did offer to post me out an iPhone tomorrow if I took up a new 18 month / 24 month contract. I don't really like the idea of this though, seems uncomfortably long. The woman then got her calculator out and worked out that over 2 years it would be cheaper for me to buy the phone full price from Apple and just get a simplicity contract from O2. This would also enable me to leave after 12 months if I wanted.

Now, I knew all this already. But I was really impressed by the fact she was actively encouraging me NOT to take out a contract because it would be more expensive, but saying that if I did want to have a contract they would post me the phone tomorrow. She also went through all my old bills and said I was comfortably under the data cap. A++++ for customer services O2, maybe I'll stay with you after all.

Played with one in an O2 store today, really liked it, much better than the 3GS IMO.

Ordered one this evening from Apple along with an Orange bumper (Partially because of signal, mainly as it looks awesome) Think i'll be keeping this one for 2 years.

Basically a month wait now though :/
