Been to the Lakeside store and probably queued for just over an hour, but had no problem in picking up our reservation. Very smooth overall!

Finally activated!

After waiting since about 11am my micro sim is activated. I had kept my old phone off since I got my iPhone 4 and kept switching my new phone on and off giving about 20mins between each go. Was about the try the network reset that someone suggested here a few pages back and when I switched on my phone it activated.

I get the signal drop out with the left corner is covered but luckily I don't hold the phone that side. Going to get a bumper anyway. Also, anyone know where I can find screen protectors (the clear filmy ones) for front AND BACK??? Thanks!

Any o2 upgraders checked Myo2 and found some strange tariff info?

I upgraded to iPhone 35/24 months and payed £119 for the handset, yet my contract on Myo2 states I'm on iPhone 35/18 months. It also shows I'm still on 600 mins / 500 texts rather than 300/unlimited. Data still says unlimited but that'll probably change when the offer runs out.

Not sure what's happened!?!

That's weird - when I check my Orange allowances they're lower than they should be, but theres a footnote saying that the first month might be prorated cos it's midway through...

Upgrade I believe is the key, you just upgraded handset and extended existing contract, no? hence it's terms didn't necessarily change.

it has been said many times, but comparing 3GS with 4 display - OMG. My 3GS looks as if its under a piece of cling film.
3GS seems to have brighter screen on middle settings [as I usually have], or may be its my crap eyes

o2 have been very strict/clear on this, upgraders must take on NEW tariffs. I'd understand if this was a special deal through retentions but it was a straightforward Apple store upgrade.

For the tariff I'm paying for I should have paid £179 for the handset? I'm expecting a call at some point to say its 'my fault' and 'give us more money'

Oh yeah forgot to mention.

To the guys who have there insurance through O2.

I was told by a O2 rep that I had to go instore to sort out new insurance for my phone. This completely contradicted O2's website so I hung up and rang back, spoke with someone else who was very helpful.

She told me that I need to either ring O2 insurance tomorrow or fax them details such as my new IMEI and the like.

What do you mean requesting?

The phone first said awaiting activation about 7pm maybe. Its been minutes on all other iphones i have had - just being impatient... tried network reset too :)

Same thing happened with my iPad preorder.... but don't worry, Apple will take your money soon!

Yes, theres is, they have different SIM id's, which is how phone determines what IPCC file to use, and network will I believe only transfer same type to same type via form on o2.

Then the dickwad at o2 gave me the wrong sim this morning.

No wonder it hasn't activated yet!

anybody order from the Orange website last night?

I was sent an email saying I would recieve my iphone on fri..........

Didn't get any confirmation email/tracking info this evening.........so I rang up orange and she said it'll probably come on monday but wasn't 100% sure if it would and started blaming apple.....

My iPhone seems to doing a tour of the UK, courtesy of UPS. It was in Dewsbury this morning, 37 miles away from York. It's now in Preston (!), 97 miles away from York.

Clowns.

Has anyone found that taking flash photos produces a white flare at the bottom of the picture?

they look brilliant. Anyone have any experience with them? What's the service like in London?

I hear rumours they give over tethering free...

With the tethering, that I don't believe has been confirmed but there was some speculation earlier in the week that tethering would be included as part of your normal data allowance - http://www.electricpig.co.uk/2010/06/21/iphone-4-three-free-tethering-plan-uncovered/

re: what 3's like, friends in the industry always used to say to me it was a fantastic network... except if you had a problem as customer service could be a something of a nightmare. I know a few people on the network, including one of my brothers - and they've backed that up. However, I have heard these days that the customer service is a lot better than it used to be.
