Did anyone find out how to stop the WAP messages? I've had to turn my phone off. 20+ in the space of a few minutes

There must be a Tesco wear house somewhere with iPhones just sat doing nothing! I want mine :(

Could it be Tesco have been told of this issue and are holding off distributing stock until a solution is found in order to avoid additional costs associated with replacing phones? Purely the cynic in me thinking this...

Apologies if this has already been clarified but are the Tesco's PAYG handsets (or any of the other provider's for that matter) locked to their own network?

Cheers. M

Not one to brag, but I just took delivery of an iPhone 4 32GB unlocked for £599 from a guy off ebay. He waited all night to buy a couple from Regent Street Apple store.

I didn’t even think I'd buy one so soon, but I was just looking at ebay this morning and there it was all nicely boxed and sealed. Met up with him during my lunch break and paid cash on delivery

Easiest iPhone launch for me in the last three years. No waiting in horrible lines. No peeking through the curtains every two minutes mistaking everything, from a bicycle to a mini, for a TNT or UPS van. just a nice stroll down the street :)

Anyone from Exeter here?
The stock checker says there is stock in the high street store, but the phone does that weird beeping thing when I call them up...

Why did he sell it for the same price he bought it for? Doesn't make much sense, but hey as long as you're happy with it!

Today I finally picked up my micro-sim from O2 and my iP4 is now activated:D

Unfortunately however, I am having signal issues:mad:

My home town has very strong O2 reception, and neither my wife or I have ever had any signal issues (or dropped calls) with previous iPhones (2G, 3G and 3GS) no-mater how we hold them, until today that is...

I have made 5 calls today, with my iP4, and two of them have dropped. Every time I hold my iP4 in my left hand (i am a cackhander), the signal drops from full bars to one or none within 20 seconds.

P***ed off would be an understatement, especially considering the "official" response to this problem from apple.

Have any others with this issues contacted apple CS or visited an apple store to report the problem, and what was the response?

+1

Not to mention the ebay fees the guy must have paid. Seems strange.....

It was cash on collection. The price he posted on ebay was £620 buy now or best offer. I messaged him to ask if he'd consider cash on collection as he was in central London. He agreed and took £20 ebay charges off as it was done outside ebay.

Regarding why he was selling it at the original price. I have to admit I was tempted to ask. But I'm smart enough to know, never look a gift horse in the mouth! :p

Buying a phone on three from the Apple Store

Hi guys,

I really really want to get the new iPhone. I am sure I am going to buy it on the three network but three have said I cant get the actual phone from them for a few weeks yet. They have said you can get it from Apple Retail stores. So my question is this. If i went to an apple store (presuming they have stock) will I be able to buy an iPhone on the Three Network and pay the correct amount for the phone on that contract (£99). Or will I only be able to buy the unlocked price and then buy a sim only plan from three?

All help will be appreciated.

Has anyone in the UK ordered an iPhone from the Apple website since yesterday?

If so, does your order give a delivery date as 3 weeks 9 as stated on their order page? Or have you also gotten lucky and the date is only 2 or so weeks away?

I want to order but don't fancy waiting 3 whole weeks.

Fair enough. Still seems very strange, I'd have definitely asked...after I had the phone in my hands ;)

Errr... damn I should have done that. It never occurred to me. Oh well. I'm just glad I have one. Now just gotta wait for O2 to swap sim.

There is something immoral about paying £600 for a phone, especially when compared to 3G and 3GS prices or even with the iPod Touch.

Even though I am holding off on the new iPhone until problems (reception, yellow screen) are sorted, I had to go and have a peek at one in the flesh. Two major things I noticed were the speed of the GUI (I've got a 3G at the moment) and the awesome screen resolution! Wow, what a screen! However, the phone I was playing with had the yellow colouration I have read about on this forum. I tried covering the bottom left corner & bridging the gap but nothing happened to the signal. This could be three things:

1. The signal was very strong in that location (it is Portsmouth City Centre)
2. They had a signal booster in store
3. The phone didn't have the reception issue (the one I most want to be true)

It would be a shame if there was a problem, but I have faith that Apple will sort it and treat their customers well (based on my experience Apple's CS is fantastic).

I will occupy myself with Alan Wake for a few days to avoid temptation of hunting an iPhone 4 down!

Yes, I myself next week will venture into Medowhell for a quick peak at the Iphone 4.

What has people buying experience with Tesco been like ?

You might be right, but considering I got my 3G free at launch 2 years ago, and this way I get to stay out of contract and keep my tariff exactly as it is, I think it all works out in the end.

Absolute nightmare trying to get through to Tesco. I've tried at various times yesterday and today and not made it as far as the queue even once, I just get an engaged tone. :(
