Mine arrived yesterday Mrs signed for it.
Can’t really use it yet still waiting for Vodafone to sort out the porting but I’ll repeat what most have said its quick and the screen is amazing. I think for the 1st time ever I am going to using use my phone camera been impressed with the quality of the images.

I've hated the way they've done the launch this time round. The principle was right, but the way they pulled it off was totally wrong (especially where I waited and failed at White City).

1. I wanted to reserve and was probably the first on the apple store website to do so.. but when I got there the only option was to buy it outright to be delivered (meanwhile Orange and the like didn't come through on their promises for pre-order but kept us waiting for them to tell us!!).

2. By the time I eventually found the reserve section of apple's site (not on their store), only the 16GB option remained. Knowing that there is no way I was going to get the 16GB, I left it to another fortunate soul who did want that version. However, when I got to White City they said that it didn't matter what people reserved, they could pick up either the 32 or 16GB and choose at the time. Grrrrr!

3. In the queue, 10 pre-orders in for every 1 non-pre-order hardly seems fair - those pre-order guys had their stash secured and could have shown up at any point in time - the non-reserved stock was tiny and finite. Why not just get through the line in a fair order?

4. Having queued up from 6am (Westfield said that they only opened the mall at 6am!), I had about 300 people ahead of me... they ran out of stock of both 16 and 32 about 5 people in front of me. But when I ask about them taking my details and making me preference to pick up one of the reserved iphones that isn't collected, they get all confused and say it's down to Steve Jobs what they do about those reserved phones that aren't collected. I got nada!

I feel like setting Mr T on those fools.

I too think the screen and camera are the best things about it, shame I can't use the FaceTime, I don't know anyone who has an iPhone 4. :|

I honestly can't remember anything more which is 'special', it functions pretty much the same, I hate to refer to Microsoft, but the iPhone sort of reminded me of my mum's laptop.. it's a 17" Dell, but it's also got denser pixel count..or whatever, more pixels, same space. And in W7, it changes the font to this sort of 'HD font' which looks just amazing on the screen, and that's what its a bit like with the iPhone! Love it :)

Heh that's what I love about being British - we all pulled together when we were trying to pre-order or find info from the networks, but now it's back to normal and we can get back to slagging each other off :D

As it happens, I just had a look at his eBay listing and there's a good chance he could be severely out of pocket if a buyer with half a brain cell comes along heh heh  I'm half tempted myself.

LONG LIVE BRITAIN!

close the door on your way out...... :p

Does anyone know if the carrier ident on the iPhone display is branded as Tesco or O2-UK when on Tesco Mobile?

Someone posted a few pages back that it says O2-UK on the Tesco iPhones. I believe it states this on their website too. HTH.

Quick up date on Tesco.

Just spoke to a VERY unhelpful gentleman. Every time I asked something iPhone related he just told me to ring After 10am.
He was very rude and diddn't same to care.

Best thing about this thread has been seeing how many different ways people try to spell queue :D

Probably the highlight of the thread for me too! My spelling & grammar isn't perfect, but some of the things that get posted are amusing (other posts are just not understandable). The best one has to go to the poster who said something like:

"....it's one year until MJ's death..."

Classic!

This is probably a very stupid question in light of the queues the last couple of days but I'm in only in London for the weekend (until Monday).
Is there anywhere in town that still has 32GB SIM-free iPhones to buy?

ring them mate, we dont have access to their stock levels.....

o2 have a stock checker on their website, dont think apple do, so youll have to call. bear in mind they are not very helpful with quantities though

On hold with belfast apple store now, checking stock.

UPDATE: Totally out of stock. SA offered to take my email and put me on a waiting list but at this stage I think I'm just gonna hold on and order from the Apple site.

Anyone got through to Tesco yet?
I am still getting the busy tone and been trying since 09:42.

Getting the same, rung over 70 times this morning but getting the same tone everytime.

Also called all the tesco phone stores in my area as someone advised above, All out of stock, Not sure if it has to have a phone department for them to stock it?

Just trying to get through to tesco mobile now. I'm on O2 but the tesco mobile plans are SO much better aren't they! I know tesco mobile uses o2's network, but does anybody know if it's actually any WORSE than o2 for reception/coverage?

I ask just because i'm wondering whether o2 would get priority over the network seeing as tesco mobile 'borrow' o2's network? If anyone's on tesco mobile, how does it compare to other networks?

On the other hand, would it be a better idea to go with Three? Their plans look a lot more impressive than o2's and I saw a post on this forum saying three were the best for 3G reception and o2 were the worst! Is this true? ...And what would be the downside to going with Three? ...again, anyone on Three, any help would be appreciated!
