Just trying to get through to tesco mobile now. I'm on O2 but the tesco mobile plans are SO much better aren't they! I know tesco mobile uses o2's network, but does anybody know if it's actually any WORSE than o2 for reception/coverage?
I ask just because i'm wondering whether o2 would get priority over the network seeing as tesco mobile 'borrow' o2's network? If anyone's on tesco mobile, how does it compare to other networks?
On the other hand, would it be a better idea to go with Three? Their plans look a lot more impressive than o2's and I saw a post on this forum saying three were the best for 3G reception and o2 were the worst! Is this true? ...And what would be the downside to going with Three? ...again, anyone on Three, any help would be appreciated!
I know a couple of people that have got through to tesco and the latest news is:
The systems are back up however, they are testing them now and won't be live until 12/1pm
Does anyone know if the carrier ident on the iPhone display is branded as Tesco or O2-UK when on Tesco Mobile?![]()
I am on the verge of telling Tesco were to stick this iPhone. They are just messing about with customers now its ridiculous!
Just got through mentioned iPhone 4 and they put the phone down on me!
Yes, I do have to sympahise with them in a way but a pre recorded message would be nice save me getting excited when i finally get a through.
I was in Tesco earlier and picked up a leaflet with their iPhone tarrifs on, and it says at the bottom in small print that the pay monthly triple points offer expires in Sept 2010, and the pay and go triple points offer expires in Jan 2011.
It uses the O2 network...
My issues are with the price, not with the coverage or how many points you can make.
I dont want an 18 month contract and the tesco 12 month contract is only just a bit more expensive than going SIM free and £10/month PAYG.
My 32gb just shipped out from Orange - I went for the 24 months 35pound a month. I originally ordered it at 12.30 am on the 24th but the order didn't go through because I used a different card to pay than I usually do so they needed to do a credit check but when I rang the chap didn't seem to think I ordered it correctly to upgrade from sim only to contract so he re-did the order and said it could take a while to ship as they aren't in stock but I guess they have gained more stock or had some cancellations!
So coverage is not important?
Really?
Taking it to a slight extreme:
You'd go for a cheap phone with no coverage over a more expensive phone with good coverage?
If Tesco did a £5 a month contract but you could only make calls from inside a tesco store, that would be ok with you?
Ok .. just got off the phone with them. I have three numbers that I have been trying in succession! (0800 433 4994; 0845 300 6660 and 0800 001 4150) I got through on the 0845 number just now.
Anyways, the guy said that they did have phones but now they have run out! He had no clue on stock availability and referred me to the 0800 001 4150 number as the people who will know!
This is a mess but, for now, I'm sticking with the idea of Tesco - partly due to pricing and partly because I figure if it takes a few days the 'fix' (however they plan to do it) for the signal issues will be in place.
Would be interested on any further 'Tesco info' tho from people who manage to get through to them today.
