O2 your iPhone 4 tariffs stink, charging for mms and changing the data cap. I'll be asking for my PAC code anyway.

I have also tweeted as shown below. Perhaps we should use the hash tag #O2FAIL

Twitter said:
O2 have released tariffs for iPhone4. They'll be losing customers over this. Now have data caps, MMS charges & stingy allowances! #O2FAIL

She said all current customers with unlimited data are actually capped to 500mb but they don't reach that so no know difference.

I go way beyond 500mb.

3-4 gb per month sometimes and I've not heard a thing from O2.

Same goes for me, I downloaded ubuntu on mine 2 nights ago cos my pc was playing up, Got 450k which was faster than the hotels wifi.

Gotta love MyWi when ur travelling with a laptop.

O2 have never meantioned my usage and i'm prob never below 500mb a month.

There we go.

Right, I'm off to Culford later next week.

I wasn't disputing saying nobody here goes over 500mb was I? Didn't think so.

I was clearly posting what i had just been told. I myself will go well over 500mb but she assured me we won't be charged.

All of you moaning about the new capped data rates from o2 need to look on the bright side.

You all still get free unlimited wifi from o2. That's gotta count for something right? :p:D

"Staying unlimited

All the tariffs still come with unlimited Wi-Fi, and all 3G data packages for new and upgrading customers will be unlimited until 1 October, after which the new limits will come into force.

After this point, users will get text messages letting them know when they are reaching their limits, offering them the chance to get an additional data bolt on of 500MB for £5 or 1GB for £10.

However, if you're happy as you are on an existing O2 deal with unlimited data, O2 says it will let you stay on that plan as long as you like, including those that sign up before 24 June.

what to make of this ?

having thought about it and looked at my bills every month I am between 200 and 300mb so no where near the 500mb limit, and its very rare I use over 100 mins so the £15 years simplicity sounds bloody brilliant for me. I will see how much the 32GB version costs then compare prices over the full term and see what is the cheapest.

TBH if you are using that much u deserve to be changed more for it!

Why do I/We? They offer unlimited data so why should I out of courtesy stop when I hit 500mb? I got unlimited data as I would be using it a lot when I travel and they offered it me so your now saying I should be charged for a service they offered me?

If people use stupid amounts then yes fair enough I agree a charge but they shouldn't charge if these people have accepted the unlimited package.

I use roughly 500mb-1.5gb a month.

I am not a big fan of T-Mobile. I have been with every operator in the last 3 years, and Three are, IMO, the only decent network.

Also, looking at the new tariffs on O2, I am sure Three will have something better.

Just checked my data usage since buying the 3G on launch day, 650mb received and 182mb sent.

Guess 500mb will be enough then!

(Excuse me if this is now old news....) Just got off the phone with O2 and have been told that if I go with the early upgrade offer (will cost me around £180) then the iPhone 4 will be free. Not sure if this will apply to everyone, but she said because I am on an pay monthly contract for £45 a month (though my bills more like £70/month), as long as I sign up to another 18 months it will be free. I asked her to check this a couple of times and she said that she was certain it would be free...Much cheaper than my original plan of buying on pay&go.
