iphone on three in store?

im sorry if this has been asked already but i have checked a few pages, and there are 600 so sorry.
Okay i was just wondering, for those of you in the UK, who bought your iPhone yesterday was the option of getting it on thee (3) available?

I'd previously had a bit of a mare. Didn't pre-order (was on holiday) so attempted to queue at the Holborn O2. Was number 40 and they had 30 phones.

Again, this morning made an attempt at the Kings Road O2. Delivery turned up late and they had 30 iPhones. 10x32GB, 20x16GB. The first ten people took all the 32's.

Sacked that off decided to sit it out and went just to grab a microsim from O2 store in south west london, decided to chance it at Phones4U and they were gradually selling off those people had reserved and not collected as they said on 24th. 7 were given away as I got there. I grabbed one of the last ones, so an easy upgrade with O2 from that point on.

Their insurance offering is scandalous and pretty sure they were saying 'well you better get it as people often get mugged for theirs'. Talk about a hard sell.

Politely declined and now playing with my new phone.

FWIW if you're on O2 just upgrading, just call their upgrade line. They had plenty in stock until 3pm yesterday. CS operative was amazed they hadn't had many people calling them....

well fair play mate :) i wasnt asking to be an arse , just out of curiosity

When I ring 2302 I get an automated "Out of stock" message. Should I ignore that and speak to a person? They have stock but say otherwise?!?!?

I rang yesterday and the day before, they offered to send me a new iPhone both times (but I'm waiting on a SIM free version). Speak to retentions.

Hi,

I went to pickup my phone on thursday and saw loads of "Three" contracts available. This was at the White city store in Westfield shopping centre.

Did not see any contract prices but the guy said that they were contracts sold with the phone.

Hope this helps

Well I just got back from Germany late last night so had my first iPhone 4 search today.

Local O2 store was sold out, but the rep I spoke to was awesome and told me to just keep bugging them and ringing them up every couple of days to check on stock (and to use the online stock checker obviously).

Went over the Carphone Warehouse, they only had a 32gb Vodaphone one in stock...this confused me, because I thought that all the contract phones were unlocked, and then locked to the network when you activated it and what not. But I'm probably wrong and didn't bother asking.

The search shall continue on Monday...I couldn't believe the Retina display though...truly stunning.

Sorry mate, maybe my tone came across wrong over the interwebs. Completely with you, normally I'd give phones4u a wide berth, and them dishing out other peoples reserved phones (tho I obviously benefitted so don't want to come across like I'm ungrateful) kind of supports your statement.

My post was just to give people a little hope that if you haven't been able to bag a new phone thus far, don't be downhearted, you never know where they pop up!

Also I was told by CPW, 2xO2 stores and another retailer they expected more deliveries on Tues.

Best of luck folks!:)

0800 1313136 This is the number I used, perfectly nice lady, apologised but they'd sold out of their stock for upgrading customers yesterday but had stuff coming in all the time.

Just got a text from O2 telling me that my iPhone is now unlocked :)
I wasn't sure whether they would do it for an iPhone 4 or not, but they did, and it worked :)

When swapping your sim to a micro sim on O2, did anyone have some months of free web and wifi left on their original sim card?

If so, did this get ported over to the new micro sim?

Thanks.

Rang the apple store here in belfast after finding out they were out of stock and they put me on a waiting list, took my email address and said they'd email me as soon as they got more stock in. The guy did say it might be a while though. Pretty decent of them. :)

Got a phone call from my dad yesterday. Said he popped into a Orange shop (I guess in Warrington as that's where he lives) and paid a deposit for a handset.

Got a email from him today saying the Orange shop rang him, told him he could go pick his phone up from lunch time today.

He is now a fellow iPhone 4 owner! So some places do have handsets still available and/or are starting to get replenishment. I would guess the latter in this case or my dad would not have had to leave a deposit and would have had it yesterday!

Save me searching through all posts, can someone confirm.

Currently have o2 iPhone Simplicity
Got a Microsim from o2 store
Looking to get PAYG phone from Tesco (don't laugh)

can I use o2 Microsim and transfer my account over?
I assume all phones start out Sim free
O2 store said yes, but as girl was about 12 I could do with your confirmation

Thanks

mkjj, tesco does not currently sell the iphone 4 on payg , and if you do get it from them , it will be locked to tesco.

Cut your sim down. That's what I did, works perfectly and still have my 6 months of web and wifi left :D

I'm finding my iPhone 4 so much quicker 3G wise, than my iPhone 3GS.

Any other Orange iP4 users getting good speeds

Ok thanks. See, never trust phone shop staff!!

I spoke with someone from tesco direct today and they said that they would have payg iPhones after Tuesday 5pm! I'm not holding my breath on that but am just passing along what i was told!

I'd be happy if it was true!

Loopy65,
I wouldn't hold your breath. Spoke to Tesco again earlier on and they said there not expecting any iPhone phones for at least a week.

However, I wouldn't trust a word that come out of anyones mouth at Tesco at the minute.
Im beginning to lose faith in them.

im in exactly the same boat as you, however im moving from O2.

Reply:
you managed to order your microsim on the phone? i was thinking of playing it safe and waiting for my normal Vodafone sim to be connected first (on Monday) then going down to the shop and getting it swapped over to a micro sim. after being passed around so many departments on the phone a day or two ago i didnt want to risk losing my number due to some admin cock up

Outpost:
I originally started the order process with Vodafone on tuesday, and the guy rang me back once he'd got the micro-sims, to complete everything, and set my number transfer in process, so as I said, my number is due to change over on Monday, and I'm hoping that's when I'll get the sim delivered. So far i've been pretty impressed with the VF CS.
(I know this sounds crazy but I've also set up a 30 day rolling contract with O2, so I can compare performance of the two, and then I'll keep the best one, and cancel the other .... that micro-sim is already working in another phone now)

By the way ..... I used to be with T-Mobile.

I'm on the "priority" list too, after not being able to get one on launch day at Bullring. Queued for an hour or so before they ran out of walk-in stock. Waiting for that e-mail now.

Although, what I don't get is that I've been hearing that people have managed to get hold of the iPhones after supposedly new stock coming into Bullring. When I called the store (yesterday and today) they did tell me that they don't have any stock in store...

Has anyone tried calling UK customer service to try and score a free bumper?
