Now that this has been unstickied for some odd reason it's up to us to keep the thread alive!

It does seem strange that it is no longer a sticky considering the astounding statistics of this thread (achieved in just one calendar month):

1. Over 600 pages;

2. Over 15,000 posts;

3. Almost 500,000 views

4. The most popular iPhone thread (including the U.S.A.) by a mile!

There is clearly a demand for it even now, but perhaps the American bias of this site requires us to be relegated despite the obvious popularity of the thread.

Oh well... :)

Ok, caved a little, bought an official bumper for the iPhone (this is a slippery little bugger and I didn't feel safe holding it anywhere but on my bed, yes, I've slept with it, and I'm gunna call it back :))

Secondly, I got a screen protector from CPW, which is one by Casemate and boy is it poor quality. Full of finger marks (more than the actual glass screen) and its not a great piece of "protective," film either. Very disappointed.

I'll hold out with it until it needs changing, but I cannot believe I spent £10 for 3 of these things.

There should be a UK forum really for related threads such as

  • Network Operators / Contracts
  • Apple UK
  • Apple Stores
  • Launch Meets
  • Release dates of products in the UK
  • Support mediums (I mean the usa get facetime support & online chat) we get telephone and online only
  • etc etc you get the point

Hi guys,

I have just got back off my hols and was hoping to go up to London to try my luck.

Has anyone tried this recently? I'm doomed to failure aren't I?

Wrapsol in the UK?

I'm considering a wrapsol full body shield for my phone when I get it.

Does anyone know the best place to buy one in the UK? only saw some of the 3GS ones on ebay

Sorry if a bit dense but can I just clarify the above?

I've seen that offer from o2 on their website - you post it in and they take a look at it for condition then hopefully send you the money etc etc Same principle as the other recycle sites.

But are you saying they did this instore?

Same question for the poster who mentioned Carrphone Warehouse albeit at the lower £150 was this instore or by posting it off?

Regards
Mark

For CPW it's just a case of me bringing the handset in and them giving me money - don't need to post it.

RMA'd my s/o's phone a few minutes ago. The guy didn't sound surprised once i mentioned 'antenna issue' he said 'ok' and organized the return straight away. The line was busy too, i was on hold for about 15 mins.

Me thinks a significant amount of people are returning their units.

You guys need to come to Leeds, I've seen several O2 and CPW shops with stock, even putting big signs at the door saying they have them! I was tempted to buy another - but paying for two already has broken me!

Posted from my iPhone 4 <<<<< smarmy git :D

I tested 5 phones in the West Quay, Southampton store. I had to hold the left hand side so tightly for about 2mins to see a significant drop in signal (full to 1 bar). I'm not sure it will be a problem to me as i don't intend on holding it like that anyways.

Tested mine in West Quay and could not reproduce the problem. Got back to Farnborough and problem reproduced. So there must be some base stations blazing some good signal around West Quay as it is in the center. I've tried this in several places and can only reproduce it in some areas and not others.

Aha, well i'm in Camberley so when mine arrives from Vodafone (i just ordered) i will see. :)

Edit: WTF Spelling/typos

Cancelled my 32gigger this morning. also went to see one in the shop and to behonest im not as impressed with the 'feel' of it as made out by Jobs. All the bad feedback ive read hasnt really helped to win me over either. gonna wait it out for the white one to see if its more appealing than the black box :)

Check my video out which shows what having a case or bumper does the iPhone 4's signal!

How reliable is the O2 stock checker have people found? Its showing that a couple of shops in London have the 32gb in stock - was wondering if it was worth making the trek down to them? (they're not answering their phones to check)

Call the store, that page isn't updated as often as you'd hope it to be.
