Does anyone know if there is any stock at Regent Street? After a 32gb black but been away since launch day and only just got back.

I said exactly the same thing as that was the tariff I was tempted by. Have/had you been with them long? I've been with them for about 10 years which the guy implied would make a difference (still don't believe that though!)

Been with them for just over 18 months. Come to think of it, I did make clear that the main reason that I wanted to transfer to Tesco Mobile was because I wanted to be on a 12 month contract so I can upgrade to the 5th gen as soon as it comes out without having to worry about buying out 6 months of my contract. Maybe when she said that they couldn't beat Tesco she meant that T-Mobile wouldn't be offering 12 month contracts.

Anyhoo, now that T-Mobile and Orange have merged it wouldn't surprise if their iPhone plans/prices are very similar if not identical.

Does anyone know if Apple stores hold stock specifically for replacements during the first couple weeks? I need to get mine switched because of the yellow screen band (which is NOT disappearing despite reports saying it should), but I don't want to waste my time at a genius bar if they don't have either refurbs or new iPhones.

Have the same issue as you twoism. The nearest Apple store is an hour away from me so I don't want to go all the way there for them to say they won't replace it!

How long have you had your new iPhone for? I've had mine since Thursday and the yellow dots have remained the same.

I think I saw a post one or two pages back stating they were out of stock. I also noticed that someone said they purchased one from the O2 store on oxford street, so if you're with O2 you might want to go there! I believe its still for current customers only.

Anyone heard from Tesco on their stock situation this afternoon?

I know numerous times its been said they would get stock after 5 today?

Thanks

That's what I'm thinking but given the lack of stock everywhere it won't be too big a deal to wait another week or two - but the complete silence from T-Mobile is annoying to say the least. I can understand that they don't have stock to sell but surely by now they know what their tariffs will be?!

Had mine since launch day as well, spotted the yellow marks right away and even posted pics in this thread. Thought I'd let the problem solve itself anyhow and initially thought it was indeed disappearing, but it was just due to the device cooling down. Once I actually start using it though, it gets worse; it's particularly visible when the iPhone gets hot. Very annoyed!

I can confirm that the Apple store does hold replacement stock as I changed mine out on Saturday due to a yellow line all the way across the bottom of the screen. It came out of a black plastic box but was brand new.

Thanks for the info. Which Apple store was this?

Just managed to get through to Tesco's no word yet on when they are getting more iPhone stock. Basically, just a waiting game like all the other Networks now.

has anyone purchased an iPhone 4 from apple with o2 simplicity been able to insure the phone?

after being messed around by customer services they have turned round and said i cant be insured as i didnt buy it from them.

Long time lurker, first time poster - have managed to stay on top of this thread!

Does anyone know if Quidco pays out on the o2 iPhone 12 month simplicity (£15 a month) tariff? Also I am currently on a 30 day rolling o2 iPhone simplicity contract, I assume if I took out the 12 month tariff via Quidco I wouldn't be able to port my current number?

Alternatively, I moved on to the simplicity tariff in February after my initial iPhone contract expired instead of upgrading at the time, if I call them asking to transfer to the 12 month one instead of upgrading with them (considering buying the iPhone sim free) would they offer any incentive i.e. money off? I know that is probably very wishful thinking!

Thanks in advance :)

Have they merged yet? I thought the trade regulators still needed to approve the deal?

My upgrade with Vodafone was placed on backorder on release day and I got it today. I was lucky that I was in to receive it as I didn't receive any dispatch email.

I had same problem as you and also a cluster of dead pixels, I just walked into a local Apple Store (no appointment) and got a replacement no questions asked and was in and out within 30 minutes,

I think they have gained regulatory approval but other than naming the parent company they haven't yet begun to merge their operations.

EDIT: according to a press release on the new parent companies website, the "company will be officially integrated on July 1"

I really want the merge of the masts to happen! Will give really good 3G coverage hopefully.

And a very quick rough & dirty Photoshop of them combined:

Orange and T-Mobile have revealed the official company name of their joint UK venture, following its formation on 1st April.

The company will be called Everything Everywhere™ and it’ll run the existing Orange and T-Mobile brands. It says the Orange and T-Mobile brands will continue to operate in the UK, with each having its own shops, marketing campaigns, propositions and service centres. However, the behind-the-scenes operations will be run as a single company.

Everything Everywhere Limited will officially launch on 1st July 2010.

Looks like things are not going to change a whole lot for us at our end of things but we might see joint masts and other stuff which would be awesome.

I went this morning and they had no stock, did not know when next batch will be in but put me on the priority list (for what that is worth).

Waiting for the email to come in.
