It will get worse before it gets better. There's the 2nd phase of the global roll out - Apple has to build up inventory for this as well

It is frustating, but the good thing is that after 2 months - there won't be lines and it will be easy to look at different options and decide, rather than commit to say - O2, simply because they have stock and the others don't

PS I had sent off for a micro sim to 3 thinking of giving them a go but they sent a non micro one duh .. altho the paperwork with it said micro sim! .. la la la .. suspect it's a pattern of things to come so I'm happy to try orange for now!

Keep me posted if you get a dispatch notice, ive received an email saying its 7 -10 days for dispatch and this was for orders placed on the 24th, so with
your order placed on monday i would have thought there are 100's of orders infront of yours!.

Who knows though, i dont think any of the CS reps have any idea on whats happening.

I read somewhere that 3 will start sending out microsims from 1st july and would send you a regular sim to cut down in the meantime before you get a micro sim

I just got a text saying it's been dispatched via DPD and with a tracking number (that deosn't work yet lol) .. they will text me with a 1 hour window for delivery once it's on the van .. tomorrow they say.

I ordered over the phone .. I am a new orange customer (again, the press was all saying that orange would only do upgrades) .. I'm not on one of the 'big' tariffs (£30 per month for 18months) .. the person on the phone took my mobile number so they could text me with details .. and he also told me (on monday) to phone back and check progress in a couple of days which I did this morning .. had to wait 45 mins but it was an 0800 number ..

Sorry it's not working for you tho .. that sounds really awful the amount of time and IN-action that it's showing .. I would phone and ask (nicely if possible although it's SO hard!) to speak with Customer services and don't give up until they can give you more details ..

Hope you get somewhere soon ..

Ive called CS yet again!!.. this time the CS rep asked me for my postcode first thing instead of my web reference number.
He said that a phone has been allocated to my order and will be delivered tomorrow or friday. He said this phone had been allocated at 10.10am this morning from the stock they had received today.

I dont think ill get a tracking number via text as they havent got my mobile number. I should get an with it but who knows!.
Fingers crossed it will turn up tomorrow.

Are you checking your status on Apple's UK site (www.apple.com/uk) or it's US site (www.apple.com)? The reason I ask is that the UK site only lists two status options: "Not yet shipped" and "Shipped", whereas the US site has a third status: "Prepared for shipment". I've got a July 2nd date too and when I look on the UK site it still shows "Not yet shipped" as it always has but the US site shows mine is now about to be shipped.
Not sure why the UK site doesn't eve list this but that just seems to be the way it is. I read about it on this forum a while back and they suggested always logging onto the US site to check your order status.
If you're on the UK site, another way of checking is to look at the "cancel your order" option. If it's is faded and you can't click it, that means your order is packed for shipment and on it's way... :)

*phew* ok this sounds like some kind of progress at least! ... I was told mine was 'allocated' at 11.15am so maybe their stock today was massive enough to cover us all!! ..

onward and upward!! :eek:

lol the white looks mint on the black :) better than the white iPhone on black bumper I think personally :cool: youchhhhhh! £45 is a bit much ain't it? just ring applecare and give em a bash or just get it from the apple store?
 
@ kariminal01 ; When did you call up AppleCare? How long did it take for them to send you your free bumper? I'm still waiting for mine. I called up on Friday evening and got a free black bumper. Received an e-mail confirming they agreed to send me it but haven't actually been told it's been dispatched etc. Just wondering if I should contact them again or if it takes a while anyway?

I've rang them three times and as soon as I saw the White bumper on the black iPhone I knew I was sold and couldn't go for anything else (they're just so good looking!)
But on apple they deliver ages from now and I have a £18 coupon for eBay so I'm trying to get the right deal on there but demands so high that prices on there are massive :(
I am jealous of the fact that you got one free, AND the fast shipping ha!
Enjoy it. I really wish I could at the moment but the signal issue is just soooo bad

well but of a long story but... I rung AppleCare on saturday evening (26th) and I told them I was having signal issues and I said I want to return the device...got transferred to after sales and they told me I could either do that or get sent a free bumper, so did that and chose the white one :). Anyway they said it would get here 19-20th July because it was white, they said the black would be quicker but I got an email on sunday saying that it had been dispatched. I rung them up again yesterday and they said it was on the way.


But the driver forgot he had to deliver mine because the manager of UPS called me and said that the driver left the jiffy bag on the front passenger seat and forgot...kept apologising and said he would sort the driver out! anyway he promissed me it would come before 9 today which it did :D.

I would contact them and say you want to speak to after sales department :)
 
A question for you guys who have received your iP4's. How many days will it take to arrive after it has been shipped.

Mine was shipped today and to be delivered by the 6th July

I know...I think the delivery is something like the second half of July! I am a lucky person tbh with most things so I'm just grateful :) I have heard they are veryyyyy expensive on ebay, but I have seen some documentation saying that Apple has told the AppleCare reps not to give away any bumpers, read it on this link.

Hmmmm, its a bit different with pre-orders and an order. I mean mine shipped on the 23rd and came on the 24th because it was a pre-order but best thing to do is track it via UPS :)
 
Tesco update:

For those unfamiliar with my case: I actually managed to order a phone on Friday, but the order was cancelled due to a bulk buy trigger. My account was created and a phone no and IMEI attributed.

I decided to give them a call today to see what was happening, and the woman said that they are indeed sold out, but my account had a phone reserved and was just awaiting payment. So, I gave her my payment details. I await the result, and will post back in about an hour.

Fingers crossed (all of you, please? lol)!
