Ordered Yesterday (30/6), arriving today!

Rang O2 yesterday to downgrade my line rental. Came off the phone having upgraded 6 months early.

As a 'gold priority' customer (I think that means my contract is £45/month), I can upgrade 3 months early and buy out the remaining 3 months for £20/month.

New iPhone 4 is £119 for 16Gb version with the £40/month 18 month tariff.

Can sell my 32Gb 3GS to O2 for £240 or online to one of the recycling companies for £282.

Net gain £100, contract from £45 to £40 (I didn't need all those minutes).

In stock reserved for upgrading customers, just got an text saying out for delivery!

Pretty excited.

orange - phone order (monday) - due today!

Just got a text from DPD saying my phone will be here between 11.15am and 12.15pm! .. very impressed that they can actually tell you the 'when' of delivery! .. have had many days where I wait in all day hoping!!

So (this time!) Orange have been really good .. ordered Monday, updated when I called Wednesday giving me confirmation my phone was allocated to me and delivered today (hoping! lol) ..

Happy days! :D

Probably a silly question :) But does anyone have an idea of the stock levels if any at the Liverpool Apple Store?

Asked yesterday and no stock as yet, told to keep checking daily or put name on priority list.

But seeing as I was at the launch and was 5th on first priority list and heard nothing I don't hold out much hope!

Nice one.. cant believe my order from the 24th still hasnt been sent. Not happy at all.
Did you order the 32gb or 16gb?

Yes, you can.

That's interesting if true.

When I bought my MBP online 11 months ago it arrived with a dent - I went stright to the local Apple store and they told me it was nothing to do with them and I'd have to sort it out with the online store.

The store manager went to a lot of trouble to explain how they had different supply chains, so selling one online and taking it back in a store would screw up their system. Even used it to suggest to me in the future I should buy from them instead of online so I'd have the benefit of being able to have support from them.

Did they actually take the money, or just put a hold on it (so that your available credit was reduced by that amount?)

They took the money. It wasn't a hold. It is even listed on my credit card statement as a transaction with Apple as the vendor.
I don't mind, as long as I get my iPhones. But I must admit I was surprised when they did it because I thought the standard practice was only to charge once the items are shipped.

I had the same with the 3G, bought it online in black and regretted it straightaway so I took it to the AS still in the cellophane and asked if I could change to white. They weren't having any of it, said it would screw up their systems as they wouldn't be able to account for the missing serial number (white) or the one that suddenly appeared in their stock (black). And I did some serious begging then but they were sympathetic but useless. :D

@CD3660: Thanks, can't bloody wait. Am going camping tonight for the weekend so will be able to put that battery to the test.

@Loopy65: I hope mine arrives around then. O2/DHL just said sometime today. I'll race you to the unboxing pics!:D

Did you order the 32gb or 16gb?

32GB .. actually on the website yesterday the 16GB were showing out of stock while the 32GB were in stock so maybe that's the problem?

I am well aware that Orange (and most others too!) CS is pretty hit or miss and am just grateful that this time it appears to have been ok!

Hoping you can get some clear details on yours soon .. sooooooo frustrating!

My hubby is going to SO want a new phone now once he sees mine *evil cackling laughter* :)

Unbelievable... i give up with orange. I ordered a 32gb.
Im glad youve got yours sent out, the only thing i can think of is that there must be a seperate order system for telesales orders and web orders.
Ill keep on waiting.

I got an iPhone 4 from CPW on Tuesday this week. I am moving from O2 to Vodafone and at the time of purchase gave my PAC code. The system in CPW came up saying that the date of number transfer would be 1st July (today). I have just had a text from Vodafone saying that the new number will go live by 4pm 2nd July.

I'm confused. When will the number transfer. Today, and they are giving themselves some breathing space? Or tomorrow and I was lied to by the system the other day when instore?

Anyone any experience?

"sympathetic but useless" is a perfect description! :D

I did not know you could order from O2? Is that for any current customer?

I just got a call from Apple Technical Senior Advisor for the iPhone. She basically said that the engineers said this was typical behaviour for the handset, and part of the design as you are covering the antenna. She said that if you are having problems, a case will help it out, confirming what we all know. Also, to try and move your fingers around. Shame.

I've got a Bumper on the way, so that will help out if I accidentally move my finger while on a call.

I moved from O2 to Vodafone earlier this week. I gave my PAC details and things at a Vodafone store on launch day last week (24th), and was told by Vodafone that my number would transfer by 4pm on Monday (28th).

My O2 phone deactivated at about 10.30am on Monday, and then the iPhone activated a few hours later, about 2pm. So I'd go with the date you got from Vodafone rather than CPW, it was accurate for me!

Thanks for the info. However that's annoying. I was wanting it to be up and running today. I'm just impatient.

My 16Gb from orange just arrived this morning. Two days after ordering. Pretty decent service form Orange and PDP.

yup it could well be that the web orders are separate but not exactly 'fair'!! .. I suspect if it's a web order they can treat people worse because they're not at the end of the phone getting grumpy with you!! ..

my new approach with any order if it's behind or I think they're dragging their heels is 'hassle hassle hassle them' but in a polite way!!! *hmph* .. UK Customer service generally is just awful I think!

How long it usually takes for the order to go from "Prepared for Shipment" to shipped?

I know its a silly question but I can't wait.:)

Anyone noticed the Tesco mobile sites changed, you can only register your interest now, no tariffs or anything.

Anyone got any news on Tesco at all?

My payment for Tesco has been taken, and my phone is 'at warehouse dispatching soon"

The last person I spoke to said they were still out of stock. Stores are taking lists though

My over the phone Tesco order was made and cancelled last Friday (along with many others). They phoned on Tuesday to take the order again, but it was a store in Northampton rather than Tesco Direct.

It arrived this morning!

:D

I have been following this thread from the early days but have never posted before. I have been having continuous phonecalls from CPW for the past couple of days and they are taking orders for delivery next week via phone. I hadnt heard anything from O2's stock checker email system but have just rang O2 on the off chance and they do have stock in for immediate delivery :). Mine is now on its way, and I dont have to part with my cash just yet as the cost of the phone has gone on next months bill :D
