Two different stores in Newcastle both told me this info when enquiring about a launch date for the iPhone 4 today. I know people would normally say lies etc etc but it fits in with the usual 1 month later style of T-Mobile and getting new handsets. I know its not a "Good" source but at least its a date to work to....

Oh man, Orange is getting anoying now...
They told me that they are getting new stock today went there today and they said that they didn't..
Why lying in the first place?

T-Mobile to get iPhone 4 on July 23rd!!!

bad news for me...
Just cancelled my contract with t-mobile to get an iphone.
Now I'm on orange and waiting for the phone to be deliverd.....
That news could have been deliverd earlier from t-mobile.:(
Thanks anyways......

What are your thoughts on T-Mobile? I really want an iPhone 4 and I cannot decide which network to go for. Cost isn't a major issue, I just want a fast/reliable/well-covered network that doesn't drop calls constantly like O2.

I spend most of my time in rural areas so I'm looking for a network that performs well in that kind of environment.

I'm seriously considering Vodafone and T-Mobile, but I'm concerned at the lack of visual voicemail, unlocking and the network restriction on VOIP.

Please share your thoughts, experiences and opinions on this - I'm desperate! :D

our work phones are t mobile and i can tell you theyve been horrific recently!!!!!

calls just drop halfway through, always get network busy messages, they are terrible recently

used to be quite good, but now its taking 5 times to get through to a colleague its a joke

That was me :)

Other way though, Scotland (north east) to Cambridgeshire. I was listening to various Radio7 stuff on listen again.

So 3 performs well for you? What speeds do you typically get and how do you find their coverage? I'm in East Anglia, and O2 are very, very poor! :D

I'm currently (until Tesco Mobile get more iPhone stock) on T-Mobile, recently I've been having terrible signal loss and I live in a city - Bristol. About a month ago I visited a friend in Surrey, he lives on a farm in a rural area and I had no signal whatsoever, just none! Even in the large-ish towns in the rural areas of Surrey I'd barely get any signal. I had lunch in a pub in Guildford - the biggest town in the area - and still had no signal at all.

In my experience T-Mobile have been a pretty good network, but unless Surrey is an extreme case I wouldn't go with them if you're mostly in rural areas. I did scan for available networks a few times whilst I was there and found that Orange and O2 almost always came up so maybe they would be good for you to consider. I don't recall Vodafone coming up when I scanned for available networks either so its possible that you may want to give them and T-Mobile a miss. Then again, as I said they may fare better in other rural areas, lack of T-Mobile and Vodafone signal could be unique to the parts of Surrey that I was in at the time.

As for visual voicemail, I do believe that someone on the forum was told by Vodafone that they would be getting it this year, but officially I think only O2 have it for the moment.

Hope that helps.

Well I've been with T-Mobile for over 6 years now and like any network they will have their good and bad reviews, personally I live in a rural north east england village and get full reception at 3.5G almost all the time. Internet speeds are fast, consistent and reliable which I guess is what everyone wants. Also with the merger of T-Mobile and Orange underway the coverage is only going to get better and better!

I'm not sure what "Visual Voicemail" is but since I don't leave voice mail for other people and only receive them myself once or twice a month I don't see it as a factor when "I" purchase a phone, obviously opinions will differ.

I can't say my six years with T-Mobile have been smooth sailing because I did have some trouble with a SE-K810i handset and getting a new one from them instead of a refurbished one when mine had a fault. Other then that though I can't complain, I'm on a Friends and Family package meaning I get 50% off my contract and they have even sent me the paper work to say I was on a 12 month contract when I had signed up for an 18 month one, further more when I went to the shop on the 12th month they held there hands up to the mistake and let me upgrade..... making sure I got the paper work for an 18 month one this time XD

All in all I have found them a good network and although they have had some niggles along the way I would recommend them to friends and family. My G/F praises O2 but she seems to run on 1/2 signal or less around 90% of the time.... she wont move to T-Mobile.... :(

yep, for me it's been great. I'm on the outskirts of P'Borough and indoors I'm currently getting ~2mbps on the iPad w/THREE (using the speedtest.net app)

I would suggest you do what I did - get a free PAYG sim from all the networks and see which is best for you.

After my scotland trip w/iPad and couple of weeks with a 3 PAYG SIM in my iPhone, I'm porting my O2 number to 3 on their £15/m tariff from Monday next week.

i still havent been able to find out when T Mobile and Orange are actually merging networks. any ideas?

Edit: nevermind, found this just now http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/telecoms/article7122697.ece

Everything Everywhere, which is jointly owned by France Telecom and Deutsche Telekom, plans to build a “single super-network” that will give better coverage to customers. It said that work would begin on its plans when Orange and T-Mobile are officially integrated on July 1.
