I thought that Apple stores didn't have any stock of any iPhones... When did Regent St get a delivery to be able to give you a replacement?

And I would start from new, it won't take long to change settings, contacts and apps etc.

Replacements get top priority, so a store may not have had a "delivery", but may have had a handful of units as replacements.

I'm on my 3rd iPhone 4. First one from Regent street, second from Kingston and 3rd from regent St. I set up as new for the first 2 days then restored from My iphone 4 back up from the replacement.

Battery life is still crap, ive got another appointment for Sunday for replacement number 4. Odd as I've had both the iPhone 2g and 3GS and never had to return any of them.

hoping you get it also! .. the way orange (and the other providers a lot too!) have dealt with this has been awful!!
let us know!

Loopy
Yes sure I will let you guys now if I was able to get my hand on an iphone 4 tomorrow. Yes the service is awful especially when apple launches a new phone. Just out of interest how did you get your iphone 4?

Back from posting earlier on the iPhone troubleshooting thread and was decided on doing a restore from backup, but now I'll play safe with setup as new, I think. Will I lose txt message history and notes even if I get contacts back on? The very stressed and tired looking Genius, when I asked about notes, said I'd lose them.

I phoned orange up as a new customer (just on the off chance) and got lucky with the 'sales person' their end. The more I read though the less likely it seems to get a good one!! Took 4 days although they messed up my credit application and I ended up tagging onto hubbys iPad account!

Hopefully I won't be making a return visit. I've had all the generations of iPhones and this is the first one I've had a problem with, other than poor battery life on all of them except 4 and low call volume on the first one(2G). Everything good so far with calls but haven't restored yet...

status report ....

Well, finally got my phone ... arrived today, just before noon.
All setup, without any problems. No issues to report so far.
As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, I took out 30 day rolling contracts with both vodafone and O2, to see which gives me the best reception, and a present VF is slightly ahead (at home anyway), so I'll be comparing them over the next week and then drop the loser.
As far as the 'grip of death' goes, so far again VF is ahead ..... I could make the O2 signal drop quite easily, but I needed to grip it for a while with VF before it was affected.
Picked up a black bumper from Meadowhall (I have an Orange one on order from the Apple store, but that's gonna be at least a week yet) and it certainly does help, and does look pretty cool. The only gripe I have with the bumber is that it would not allow my Shure earphones to plug in fully (cannot use the Apple ones as they sound terrible), however 10 minutes with some sanding around the rubber headphone jack, and the problem is gone, and it sounds great. So far, it's living up to all the hype ..... going to the App store now, to stock up !
Hope everybody else got theirs, and all AOK.

Nice to hear that you got your phones now.
I'm still waithing to get mine. Waiting since the 24th but still haven't received it yet. Orange is taking to long for something that simple...
But this is really anoying...
Anyways enjoy your new phone....

iPhone 4 - Two Weeks On.

Exactly two weeks since I got my iPhone 4, and I'm enjoying it a lot.

Having said that, the 'signal bars' issue does concern me a little and I do believe that there is a design deficiency in the way the antenna has been conceived and implemented. It hasn't really been a problem for me but I'm very concerned about Apple's response which strikes me as an attempt to deceive us all. Weasel words for loyal customers who dig deep into their pockets for the latest Apple gadget. It's really not good enough when they are making billions out of us.

I've also had the proximity sensor problem where the screen doesn't always go out when the phone is held to the ear resulting in inadvertent 'cheek activated' functions such as mute, speaker-phone etc. Perhaps it's time for a slimmer face! :D

Hey guys I got my iphone 4!! Finally :):):):)
Basically I got a phone call from the orange store at 8:30 telling me to arrive fast if I want to get a hold on the last iphone.
So >I arrived at 9:00 at the store and they did my contract in about 20 mins.
Then activated my iphone 4 through their service and also got a screen protector.....
And that thing is amazing..........
Have no problems with the antena or loosing the signal even when tightly gripped in the hand....
Amazing.
Ok the waiting since the 24th was totally worth it...
And the amazing is display is just amazing!!!!!!!!!!!:):):)
Hope you guys get your soon...

Waiting List -.-

I've been on the waiting list at the nearest Apple Store to me (Brighton) since 27th June. Seriously getting annoyed at nowhere knowing when they are receiving stock, I mean they should at least know... or am I wrong? Been without a phone for nearly a month now =/. Hope something changes soon

Regent Street?

I know it's been asked over and over again here but has ANYONE got an iPhone off the priority list in the Regent Street store yet?

After the launch day fiasco with an official reservation but turned away at the doors due to too many people, I put my name down on the list on 01/07. So, I'm not expecting anything at least this week. I'm even browsing ebay again.... dammit...

Still, I'm intrigued to know if another batch has come into the London Apple stores yet or are they just trickling in and prioritising the carriers instead?

Anyone?
