How are yours online orders at apple store UK? I have ordered mine 1 week ago(16GB version) and is still not shipped yet.. What about yours?
Thanks for replies

You're about as normal as a gorilla in a fish pond. Considering that I work near both stores, I am far from keyboard theory as you are lead to believe..
I could care less where you work. If you are quoting hearsay and you think this negates my personal expereince of walking into stores then you dont live in the real world.

You seem to be good at whining about everything and blaming me and Apple,
No sir it's not whining. It's calling a spade a spade. Clearly you have rather low expectations, at least when it comes to Apple.

You go Friday & Sunday yet miss the opening day Saturday of Covent Garden - laughable! Whining about last weekend is pointless when you haven't gone and checked today. I could be a nutcase like you and whine about how there weren't any phones the first week of July - but what will that achieve, especially now and today? How about you go TODAY to both stores, see the status and then comeback and complain? Either you're lazy or you don't really care that much to get one.
What's laughable is your implicit assumption that people have time to run around chasing a store every day - and better yet your belief that people should build their life around Apple's store opening schedule. As I said, if any retailer that advertises a product that, yet does not have it in stock in their flagship stores, is incompetent. It's a waste of advertising money and the customer's time.

While this may be difficult for you to comprehend, it's actually quite clear for most anyone who has any understanding of the retail industry. Customers do not serve you - you serve them. And you dont waste their time driving them to empty shelves or expect that they will beg you for products.

Nobody gives a damn about your assumptions of how retail should be perceived as. If the way they do things upsets you then boo friggin hoo! Your complaining will not affect Apple policy one bit based on current demand. Either you can put up and shut up or you can vote with your wallet and go elsewhere. At the end of the day nobody cares if you get your iPhone or not.

Ordered my 16GB on July 30th, still not shipped. 2 Weeks today now, it has an EST ship of 20th August. :(

Iphone 4 now available on payg with o2

16b = £495
32gb = £595
http://shop.o2.co.uk/promo/iphoneindex/Pay_And_Go/4/Black

And there's no incentive to buy it from them apart from a measly £4 discount to get a locked phone that will cost *£15 to unlock? :rolleyes: No inclusive 12 month Web & WiFi bolt-on this time. O2 may lose more iPhone customers, I think perhaps that's what they want to ease the pressure on their network :p

*Edit: O2 are currently not unlocking the iPhone 4 at all.

Very good points! what do you think of the vodafone payg deal?

Ostensibly it's the better deal, but can anyone confirm that Vodafone UK will unlock the iPhone 4 on PAYG and if there are any caveats e.g. they'll remove the 12 month mobile data?

Both Vodafone and Tesco Mobile PAYG deals are good. The only difference is that Tesco starts at £10 a month with 1GB internet and BT openzone WIFI while Vodafone offer that starting at £20.

Vodafone offer 12 months of mobile data and WiFi inclusive. No need to top-up.

mmm this is just confusing me more now :eek:

am i reading o2 payg wrong, i read it as they will give you 500mb a month?

dont think either beat getting phone from apple and getting a sim only plan eh

Hello, I currently have an iPhone 3GS on Orange UK. A family member has just recieved an iPhone4 on there contract on Orange but we have agreed I will have the new iPhone4 and they will have my iPhone 3GS. But now I have noticed the new iPhone4 sim card is very small in comparison to my current sim card meaning it does not fit the iPhone4, is there anyway to solve this? It is probably a stupid question, but how can I swap them if the sim cards are different sizes?

Also, ordered the iPhone4 yesterday over the phone to Orange and received it less than 24 hours later.

I've finally decided to go with Vodafone on a 12 month SIM only deal. 600 mins, 1GB data for £20. Not too shabby. I was going to go with 3 or Tesco, but they were too busy to answer.

If you're going to pay for the phone for PAYG why not just buy it from Apple, and then it will be unlocked. I got my 32GB from Apple and have on 30 day rolling contract, and I'm now going to buy a 16GB for my wife, and go to the store and get a PAYG account.

Walk-ins available at Apple Store in The Trafford Centre today. 16 & 32's. Got mine today. Queued for about 15mins.

How did you hear about this?

hmm...I wonder why apple would have walk-ins when they have hundreds if not thousands on the online waiting list.
