Does this mean it's impossible to resell the Verizon iPhones without opening the box? And it will remain as a device in your Verizon account?

You have to open the box to take the simcard out and input your last 4 of your social before selling experienced this last year when I sold a Jet black 7 plus.

To those who pre-ordered through Verizon's website, have you seen an authorization show up on your card yet? I have not.

It's too early. They pull the money right before shipping my friend. I would say no later than Tues/Weds for folks expecting on the 3rd.

You shouldn't get that until right when it's about to ship.

OK, I only asked because when ordering through Apple directly as I've done in years past, there's always an immediate hold/authorization (pending charge) that appears, though the actual charge doesn't clear until it ships. Thanks.

Hey Apple just emailed folks letting them know they can pre-order for Christmas 2018

I got 2 256gb phone ordered and received my confirmation at 2:59. Only thing that worries me is the $300 credit per phone for trading my old 7+s in. They were on a device payment plan with 1/2 paid off like always. There was a screen that said to value my trade or I could wait up to 5 days to do it. I figured I’d wait until later today so that my order would go through faster, but now I can’t find where I go to to do that. Anyone else do the same?

Why will you take the $300 credit?
Im sure you can sell that phone for $500-600 online.

Do not be fooled guys.

5-6 weeks Is ALONG time lol. Sorry. You’re talking nearly 2 months.

No way will I except a delivery date so far out if I was up at pre order kick off.

We are good because Verizon takes care of its customers.

The blokes at ATT/T-Mobile ? They have a 3-5 week out delivery date OUT OF THE GATE. That’s straight up unacceptable.

Mark my words. By the end of this week. Delivery dates will be out till next year for everyone.

So the calculations where correct sorta.

Because I’m on a device payment plan. I would have had to pay $452 per phone to upgrade, or trade the phones in. I always trade in.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you need to pay off the phone in full in order to receive the $300 trade-in credit? Why would Verizon give you a credit for a phone you don't own?

The phone would be paid off. I’ve paid half off with the device payments over the course of the last year, trading it in fulfills the other half.

We pay top dollar for our VZW plans, but man Verizon knows how to come through.

The fact that they opened the flood gates about 10 minutes early is awesome. This costs them nothing to do, but yet will keep all of us customers loyal and if anything attract new ones.

I’ll gladly pay $8 more a month for my bill ( compared to ATT/T-MOBILE) if it means I can easily upgrade to the latest iPhone each year and have an effortless preorder experience.

Those poor bastards at ATT got screwed Preety hard dude.

Soon as their site loaded ( for a lot of them ) it was already showing 3-5 weeks out.

OUCH.

No thanks. VZW FTW!
I totally agree. Verizon is the best and worth the money for their products and services. Kudos and thanks to Verizon

So due to being overly cautious and half asleep I placed three orders.

1) I ordered one phone (by mistake) as a new line. This was at like 2:54 when VZ was up live. 256 Gray

2) Another via Apple store that says I'll be contacted within 24 to complete.

3) a 64 GB silver via VZ as upgrade on my current line.

Anyone know if I will be able to use that order 1 as the upgrade on my current line? Don't want the 64. Hoping they let me transfer easily and I can return the other two. Thanks all.

I heard that people who preordered the 8 had the same issue. They'd have a launch day deliver date but it'd change to a launch day ship date. From my research, apparently Verizon just likes having wiggle room and those that had a launch day ship date still got their phones delivered to them on launch day.

Mine shows “estimated to ship around November 3rd” in the app. Email says deliver by 11/3 in the email.

Is that what others are seeing? I was late to the preorder after dealing with Apple’s disaster of a site for 20 mins or so...

ordered mine Silver 64GB @3:12 AM with Estimated time Nov 17th hoping it will ship sooner, we'll see.

***for those ordering late, Verizon website now shows Estimated time 12/1 :(****

Question for you guys...

I ordered the X on my verizon account by adding a new line, then paying full retail (not the financing/monthly option). Once I get the phone, can I cancel the line I ordered it on (or better terminology might be canceling the line access fee since I am on an unlimited plan)? My apple order was 2-3 weeks shipping on our main line, so figured this could be a good way to get the phone on launch day

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I ordered from Best Buy and checked out 3:02 AM. Super fast and simple. Anyone ever pre order from Best Buy?

About 5 minutes before 3am, using the app on my phone I somehow managed to click on something that took me to Verizon's website where I went thru the order process, got to checkout and got an error that it couldn't be processed due to overwhelming something or other. So I quickly moved to my computer (this was about 2:57) and tried again and was able to get thru and complete my order. When I looked at my email, I had two emails. One said "thanks for your order" and the other is "Verizon Wireless order confirmation" (Both set to ship Nov 3). Much to my surprise they are two separate orders. Apparently I have just ordered two iPhones. I'm afraid to cancel one in case something goes squirrely... since both phones were ordered as a replacement for my one line.

Here's a weird one... Verizon made me pay full price for 1 of the 2 phones I ordered. The other is on the device payment plan. The phone line that was already on a device payment plan was selected to be returned but then it only gave me the option to buy the iphone x outright for $999. anyone else have that issue?
