You should be able to return it providing it is within the 14 day return period.
The installment will be stuck on that line. They are not able to move installments from one line to another. You can use your main phone number on the X but you’ll have to keep that second line with the installments for the X on there =(

Pending on App, Processing on the site.

App seems to be a little ahead of the site each step of the way. Order showed up there before website too.

Anyone know if changing the shipping address on my order will affect my ship date? I don't want to lose my 11/3 date but I am living on a college campus instead of at home. Verizon wouldn't let me change my address during checkout. Not the biggest deal, because I can get the phone shipped to me from home once it arrives, but obviously I'd like to get the phone as soon as possible!

You may have a few options, but changing your delivery address is one of those sticky situations that if attempted can cause VZW to mess up your order... I would be hesitant to try. I have personally had issues in the past trying to change things that cause orders to get cancelled or delayed.

Depending on who they use to ship the phone, from my experience it varies on your location, you can pay to change the delivery address. UPS charges $5 for a web request and $6 if you request this by phone (I added links below to their FAQ on the topic) -- if you are not a paying MyChoice member. You usually have to have the membership with UPS in place before hand and some packages cannot be rerouted, but you will be able to tell once you get the tracking number. FedEx has something similar (links below).

If you get the request in early enough they can sometimes still deliver it the same day that it was originally expected, something it takes an extra day or two (remember that you are butting up against a weekend). Either scenario may be faster (and cheaper) than having the phone sent home then having it sent to you. Just watch for your tracking and as soon as you get it, contact the shipper.

FedEx (Under delivery options > Reroute of shipment: rerouting shipments to a different address): http://www.fedex.com/us/service-guide/options/pickup-delivery.html

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the response. A little heartbroken though. I ordered as soon as it went live on vzw. Hopefully see some movement soon. My card still doesn't have any pending charge either.
I really wouldn’t worry about it. Not a lot is going to happen until after the weekend anyway.

So I was just wrestling with this issue myself. I had intended to buy the phone through the Apple App Store app, but when it wasn't going live, I switched to the VZ website and got it through there for delivery next Friday. Here's the rub:
I changed my delivery address on my Apple account to my office, but didn't have time on the Verizon site.
After I got the confirmation email, I called VZ and asked if they could change the shipping address to my office. They said the best way to change the address post-order is to wait until you get the shipping confirmation from the carrier (UPS, Fedex) and then call Verizon, NOT the shipper. VZ will then relay the address change to the shipper. I plan on doing this since I won't be home next week when the phone arrives.
Hope this helps.

Would you mind sharing that phone number please?

866-338-7390 Make sure you call and request the change AFTER it has shipped, like once it has left the facility, or else it could mess up the order and date! The rep told me that this is a newer addition to their services, and has helped a lot, which is going to be nice!

Will Verizon ship FEDEX or UPS?

From my experience (I move around a lot) it depends on where you live and what they feel like. One year on the east cost it was FedEx, three years in a row in the mid-west it was UPS.

So calling to change the address AFTER it has shipped is better, not when I get the tracking number? It can still be changed once it leaves their facility?

Last year, the 2nd line on my account was eligible for upgrade (it was not being used) but mine was not out of contract yet. I got the 7 Plus on an installment plan with the 2nd line. When the phone was delivered, Verizon put my phone number on the 7 Plus for me over the phone but they kept the installment agreement on the 2nd line. Once my particular line's contract ran out, they did in fact move the installment plan over to my line and let me cancel that 2nd line since it was out of contract originally.

I'm not sure if they have changed something since last year or maybe this wouldn't apply since that person ordered the X as a new line of service. They can move installment plans from one line to another, I guess given the state of the particular lines.

I'm slightly confused with the ship by and deliver by dates provided by the app and website, respectively. Currently, mine are:

App: Pending, est. to ship by Nov 3
Website: Processing, deliver by date is Nov 3

Will I actually be getting my iPhone on Nov 3 or somewhere closer to Nov 6-8 according to a CSR I spoke with earlier?

Just called and got the "upgrade penalty" waived. They get all defensive and I asked for a supervisor because I asked them why are they penalizing me for upgrading. Don't they want me to stay with them?

Thank you for this useful information! Quick question - When you activated the phone with provided sim (attached to phone #), did it deactivate the old device with the same phone # ?

I ordered a new phone on my wife's line, but when it arrives want to activate it on my line. The last thing I want is listening to how I deactivated her current phone. ;)

Yes it did deactivate the old device with the same #, but once you activate the new iPhone and put in the social and phones usable take out the simcard and throw it away and call up Verizon and reactivate the old device.

Could you give any details on your order? :)
Ordered from Verizon website at 1158pm. IPX gray64gb. Ups tracking has it departing Florida now
