Ok, Fair Enough.

I have an awesome looking, more powerful PC that's more satisfactory to me than the Mac Pro I was previous using at work (I use an iMac now).

We'd still like to see a photo of this sexy thang. Why not.

What is the significance of Antec in this? If you believe they are the gods of PC enclosures, I stick with my original statement.

Antec is the typical (yet wrong) answer when people say they build their own towers that look as good and are built as well as Mac Pros.

What is your answer? (Please don't say Lian Li.)

Do people really say Lian Li?

I'd rather not feed the trolls anymore than I already have. PM me if you're actually and honestly curious. If you've already made up your mind, then lets move on.

Yeah for serious. I have been waiting since September. All I want is a new MBP so I can use my old MBP to smack those idiots who keep telling me how 'awesome' Windows 7 is. If it's so awesome, why do you frame all your praise in "I can't believe it meets all my basic computing needs without dying every 5 minutes" incredulity. It's going to take a lot more than a semi-competent OS before Apple is 'toast' by any stretch. Though Apple Toast does sound pretty appetizing come to think of it. iToast— could be a good name for the next gen of tablet that cooks pop tarts...

New Core i MBPs

I'm a Windows user looking to switch to Mac probably buying a new MBP but I'm waiting until the next update, whenever that is, before I even consider buying one. As other have said, I don't want to pay the Apple premium for last years technology.

I have had an eye on the news sites looking for news on when they will be updated, I'm not in a hurry to buy but just watching for specs and prices . I can't help thinking that if/when Apple are moving the MBP to Core i CPUs they will not do a quiet update, I think they will want to do a public launch to make sure people know about the performance boost over the Core2 Duos. I think, from previous events, Apple usually send invites to the Apple friendly media about a week or 2 before the launch event so I'm thinking that there won't be any MBP updates until March at the earliest. What do you folks think?

Apple refreshed iMac, Macbook and Mac Mini 4 months ago quietly without any event.

Thats true, but only the high end iMac had a Core i processor whereas I think the MBPs will have to go completely Core i to stay competitive and I can't help thinking that Apple will want to do a big publicity drive for it, I could be wrong but just a thought.

yea- I have Windows 7 now and although it is okay I am still sitting impatiently by the computer for the MBP update...so yes Windows 7 is just okay but still not what I want in a comp any more.

I would guess that there will not be a MacBook Pro refresh until sometime in August. Apple maybe praying they will not need to upgrade them until after everyone has caved and bought an IPAD.

Thanks for your "thought", but it's been mentioned a thousand times already.

That would be highly unlikely. That means the MacBook Pro would not have been updated for 14 months straight. The latest I could see them getting updated is in June, during WWDC 2010, but that would be pushing it. They will probably be coming in late February or March along with new Mac Pros.

Which idols are they threatening?!? I hope not American Idol. Some of those people can sing pretty good! Sports idols, I could understand. I'm sure Tiger Woods has heard some threats from his wife.

I will sit here idle awaiting an answer.

Glad someone pointed that out, finally.

All I really want from an update to either the MB or MBP is a processor update. The things I WANT though are higher base RAM (4GB for low end either computer) and higher base HD. (250 minimum for the Pro. It's so stupid the MB has a 250 at the base starting storage, but the Pro starts at 160. WTF? The Pro should be higher than the MacBook at base.)

I don't know which one I will end up getting when I finally have the money, I want a Pro. I'd get a MacBook (White) if they started $100-200 less. I mean, when you can get the Pro for $200 more, why even get the white one? They should lower the white MacBook to $799 and keep it there. That would really move the machines and make a much more attractive entry for PC users who want to switch but think "Macs are too expensive".

august is the next version of the current 32nm CPU's. my guess is that Dell/HP get first choice of new CPU's since they are the largest computer sellers. Everyone else gets them as production increases.

apple probably waits longer since they have to build inventory for a worldwide release like DVD releases. they are shipped and can't be sold until street date

I want to buy a macbook pro, but it i'll wait for a update.

Any problem is that i live in holland and that's why i must wait longer then most of you.

VXL.

Why must you wait so much longer? The (so far unknown) release date of the Macbook Pro is international which mean you're gonna wait just as long as us unless your country has some kind of ****ed up rules of import or so.

Any one who'd like to guess the release date? I'm sick of waiting so...

My guess is 2nd or 14th of March. Yeah I know thei're mentioned and proboblay ******** but what the heck

Wij hoeven niet langer te wachten apple update over de hele wereld op het zelfde tijdstip ;) alleen de levertijd kan ietsjes langer zijn.

Translation: Apple update at the same time all over the world
