This is the answer.
I removed all 3rd party apps except for 3 that I deemed essential, and battery drain has stopped. I did not have the specific apps that you listed, but there was obviously something else causing problems.
Thanks for this suggestion!
I did this and my battery seems to be holding (what little) the charge it has at the moment. In 2 hours since I removed all the 3rd party apps, it’s been working better. Now to see if it will charge normally when I get home.

Had very good battery performance on my Ultra 2 until watchOS 10.1. It is not really bad now, but definitely worse than before.
Could this be the double tap feature?
It isn't uncommon after an update to notice a drop in battery life for a few days. I would wait a few more days before starting to worry about it.

Rebooted and switched off/on my watch and also my iPhone and battery drain seems to be back to normal.
Was on a run since then and had the usual battery consumption. Was definitely higher yesterday.

I have been finding that in the Ultra 1, if we keep using the new Ultra Modular face, it drains the battery much faster. Also, think that the Outlook complication which displays my upcoming meetings seems to make it drain faster than others. Anyone has a similar expirience?
I’ve had this, noticeable drop with the modular ultra and if I don’t use that for for a few days and a charge cycle or two it seems to sort itself out. Noticed issues with playing music and then causing a few days havoc. It’s been intermittent so I seem to be luckier that most, but now I’ve noticed my exercise minutes going nuts. 10.1 has been a disaster in the early stages so I’m going to speak to Apple support on Monday when I have some time.

Just woke up checked my watch. Battery was 78% despite being on charger all night. Just deleted all the third party apps. Will see how it fares today.
3rd parties apps can’t drain battery
Apple is VERY conservative and watchOS kills all apps that eat too much.
Background activity is very limited
You can’t have a 3rd party app that drains battery in background.
But, removing them can have a side effect that fixes something in the OS or sync processes. It’s a bit random

Decided last night to add the Apple Weather temperature complication back to my main watch face and add the widgets back. Went to bed at 100%. Woke up at 84%, which is on the lower side of normal, but not unusual. We'll see how we fare today. On 17.1 and 10.1

Turning off the wifi seems to help, give that a try.

This morning my new Ultra 2 (got it last week) lasted some 4h after having lasted for more than 48h in the days prior to making the 10.1 update. Yesterday night after the update it took forever to charge and then died during the night.

Battery health is 100% so this looks very much like a software issue... Don't lose your time reinstalling etc — there has to be an update soon.

But do try turning off the wifi, now it's still at 100% after 1h.

I can confirm that installing 10.2. from the developer beta channel solved my extreme battery drain issue on my S8. My drain was so severe that my watch was losing battery while on a fast charger, and didn't begin to actually "charge" until the battery went dead and the watch turned itself off. Installed the 10.2 last night before bed, charged to 100% and the battery was at 90% 7 hours later. Seems like everything is now working.

Thanks, let's try in my S5.

Mine is not extreme as what others are reporting here, but definitely not great. Down to 73% in a little less than 14 hours is not great, especially considering that I was asleep during 7 of those 14 hours with sleep focus on. Still guess I should not complain seeing how other are doing.

Same experience, I removed all 3rd party apps from 2 different Apple watches (Series 4 and Series 9) and they've stabilized, no more drastic battery drain.

The Series 4, I never unpaired/re-paired.

My wife’s AW6 is experience this significant drain since updating to 10.1, and is now complaining to me about it. From 100% to 7% in three hours with no usage out of the ordinary. My AWU is fine, as is my daughter’s AW7.

When you say remove 3rd party apps, do you mean ”just“ deselecting the apps under the “Installed On Apple Watch” in Watch settings on the iPhone?

I pushed the crown down to get to the apps and held my finger down on the screen until they wiggled and deleted them that way.

My S4 battery life almost seems worse than 10. Take it off charger at 2300 hours, immediately put it in low battery and theater modes. Wake up to 73 percent and now at 59 percent at 1100 hours.

This is ridiculous. Yeah I have an older watch but with 9 I could easily make it through the day.

Installing now on my AWU, hopefully this fixes the issue. Thanks for the heads up.

Please tell me how that goes. I have awu and since installing version 10 beta I have 12-14 hours of battery life. I had 2-3 days. I have tried everything but nothing worked. Please tell me if 10.2 beta is the real deal

Yeah I was about the same. Tested it this morning on 10.1 and it went from 100% -> 93% in 19 minutes.

I'm now on 10.2, it's been off the charger for 35 minutes from 100% and is still on 100%. I also got rid of all third party applications (until this is all resolved). Little early to tell but I can already see a difference.

Edit: Been a couple of hours, at 99%, 10.2 seems to have fixed it.

I've deleted most 3rd party apps on my Ultra 1, except for a couple that I use. Seems better, but could be a placebo, who knows. Have had 5% drain in the last 4 hours. Will see if it keeps improving.

I've thrown my toys out of the cot!
After "managing" my S5 by keeping it on the charger until I venture out, plus running my golf gps app then replacing on charger to top up when arriving home again, I was over it.
Bought an AWU2 yesterday, unpaired the old watch & paired the new.
Then updated it to 10.1 & fully charged. Went from 100% at 2pm to 92% at 10:30 pm.
Then this morning still at 100% after 4 hours.
Will see how it goes at golf today.
Fingers crossed.
Update at 6:30 pm, been going all day including golf gps for 4 hours & have 78% remaining :)

Apple Watch Ultra 1, 97% battery life. I had a great experience so far on watchOS 10.1. Not sure if it’s that, or the fact that I turned off Time in Daylight (or maybe both), but I have the best battery life I have ever had on watchOS 10 right now.

After 47 hours off the charger, I had 32% left. That’s quite similar to the best battery life I had on watchOS 9. AOD on, max brightness, sleep mode at night, no cellular, no workout during these 47 hours.

My S6 Apple Watch battery died before I got home, but when I put it on the charger, it started charging as it did before the update. For now I will keep the 3rd Party apps off my watch and keep the Optimized battery charging turned off as well until the next update. Hopefully today I’ll be able to use my watch all day as usual. We’ll see how it goes.
