Geez ... if it's causing that much angst in your life, put it in a case.
I have used all my iPhone in cases (the spigen slim armor ones) even then they got scratched or scuffs on the corners due to rubbing against the cases or maybe the dust or derbis which gather in the case.but not that big issue for me as i have settled to live with it :(

Question: How was your phone protected when it broke? Your type of innocent incident is my biggest fear.

I'd wager most non forum owners would be surprised how easily a screen can break.
It wasn't. As I recall, I had gotten fed up with a a crappy Tech21 case, so I was going caseless for a while. Lesson learned the $120 way.

By the number of cracked screens I see in people's hands --- ALL BRANDS --- the general public are more than aware how easily screens crack. In fact, some are cracked so badly, I'm not sure how the owners actually use them!

The well known issue of all iPhones they gets scratched so easily.i have purchased all iPhones till date and none of them have survived without a scratch.dam it!!:mad:i recently brought an iPhone se and it's already scratched on the corners no matter how much i take care of it this thing will meet its destination :(
Yet in my experience since 2007, none of my iPhone had any scratch either on the screen or the bezel.

The average consumer I encounter is satisfied with their iPhone. Most admit they neither understand or care to learn about its features. They simply use the phone minimally and go on about their business.
Sadly, almost every iPhone user I know barely takes the time to learn 90% of the features. If someone can understand "syncing with iTunes," then that would be a miracle.

Most common thing I hear is "iPhone says I'm running out of space."

16GB base storage. Easily the worst aspect of iPhone for the past 3 years.

Purchasers KNOW that going in - there's a reason it's the CHEAPEST phone in the line-up.

Knowing the capacity of 16GB is different than knowing how quickly the phone will fill up.

iOS also gets bigger and bigger every year, so the useable capacity out of box changes. 16GB in 2011 was more useable than 16GB in 2016.

It's not just iOS. Common sense points to the fact that more feature requires more coding and therefore the OS will take more space. It's true for any piece of software.

Here's what macworld says about the 16GB iPhone capacity - how much more should one expect?

"iPhone 6s (16GB model): approx. 11.5GiB, or 12.3GB. 3,075 songs OR 8 films OR 23 TV shows OR 1,921 photos OR 410 apps OR a combination of these."

oh boy my brother is a great example, especially when he chats with other non techy people that have android..

For example he recently asked me he wants to get a samsung because it has 4g and his friend said iPhones are slow with no 4g... He has an iPhone 6..

The average non-tech iPhone owner does not know what a 16gb base really means.

Yes, they know it's the cheapest model...but many find out later, what it means in terms of useability ie. limited space for photos/video, iMessages, music, etc.

Hogwash - Read macworld's breakout on the 16GB I posted 2 up - again, how much more should they expect from the entry model?

many non-tech owners don't know the limitations until later on.

Equivalent I guess, to those MR forum types who went cheapo and bought the 16GB "just to be in the game" and then go on countless rants saying Apple should give them 5TB of iCloud storage, for FREE.

I'd settle for 5GB cloud storage free per iOS device I purchase. Sounds fair to me

Exactly..!! I really don't get why people do not like to spend on either apps or online storage.

Buy 1 iOS device, get 5GB iCloud storage

Buy 4 iOS devices, get 5GB iCloud storage

There's been periods in life where it seemed like I couldn't spend money fast enough. This isn't one of them. Otherwise, I'd likely be tripping over cloud storage.

I remember a certain prominent member of Apple's marketing team justifying the existence of 16GB devices with the cloud. 'Pay me now, or pay me later'. But, I have yet to go cheap on device storage. My latest acquisition was my first used (64GB), which allowed me to stay in the game.

Microsoft gave me 15GB of cloud free; that's where my pics reside

My apologies for yanking us off topic

If you ask "which one takes more space: a bible ebook or 1 minute of 4K video", most people would say the bible.

Now you know why other phones come full of stickers with 4G and what not.

Why's buying devices relevant to their online storage space? I agree that it would be a great deal but I won't really expect it, if you know what I mean.

Have you tried google photos?! Unlimited free storage with lots of extra bells and whistles.

It's not even that, storing pictures should be a free feature, I get that google makes money off that by analyzing the pictures and monetizing, but apple could make money by lock-in. like you have 5000 pictures on your icloud, most people don't know how to download them, would you buy an iPhone again just o keep the library?

Google is making fun of this deservedly.

50GB of iCloud is $0.99 per month. Many of us spend 4x that much per day on a coffee.

Only 5GB free is pathetic. I have 17GB free on GoogleDrive, 30GB on OneDrive, and 50 GB on Mega Drive. I don't care how little it costs, I'm not paying for cloud storage when other platforms actually provide usable amounts for free. 5GB isn't even enough to do a complete backup of one of my iOS devices. I agree that they could at least offer 5GB per device.

Lack of game changing innovation. Hard for anyone to do but we expect a lot since iPhone.
