I'm not really concerned about one bad game from Schil. If he has a couple more in the near future, I'll get concerned, but everyone has a bad game every once in a while.

Also, as far as Beckett goes, he had the blister problems only in 2004 afaik. And the reason they put him on the DL right now is so they can prevent the problem before it starts.

The season is far from over.

The Yankees are starting to ignite Hughes will be back and a rumor of Clemans pitching his first game at Fenway.

Clemens did not do so well against the Sea Dogs, not awful, but not good enough to beat the Red Sox.

On the other hand, if Schilling keeps pitching like he did last night, maybe Clemens would win in a real nail-biter - 17-16

Clemens doesn't worry me at all.At best,he's a six inning pitcher at this point in his career.I'm more concerned with the longevity of the Sox' rotation. With Schilling's age and propensity for the DL,I think that's a legitamate concern for Sox fans.Getting Lester in there will help. That'll put Tavarez in middle relief. The bullpen hasn't been getting alot of work this season simply because the majority of Sox starters are getting into the seventh and eighth innings. That could also change if the starters get shelled comed August and September..So yeah, this thing's far from over :p :D

The Yankees get swept...

what are they now, 12 1/2 back from the Sox? This is getting ugly.

I think I've decided A-Rod is the dirtiest player in the game. Gotta be. After the purse-slap incident, last-week's 'throwin' the elbow' at Pedroia, now the 'bush-league' (as the Blue Jays called it) calling for the pop-fly while running the bases.

This guy IS bush-league.

Yankees seem to luck out against our pitching again this coming weekend. They should see the 4,5, and 1. So no Beckett or Matsu again.

He even tried to compare it to Hill stealing home on Tuesday! What a ****ing dick.

What does A-Rod yelling HAH have to do with the kid not being able to catch a pop fly.

Giambi out for 3 weeks with torn tissue in his foot.

With tonight being a day off, they could skip Tavarez and have Wake throw Friday, Schil on Saturday, and Beckett on Sunday.

Sorry I just had to post it again :p

Have you seen the close up? Last time I checked "hah" doesn't start with your lips together. Just because he had a hot April, he can do no wrong? He's hit 5 taters in the last 30 days, Lowell and Youkilis have hit 6 each, and Alex Gonzalez has hit 7, plus there's 10 for Griffey, Morneau, and Sheffield, and 12 for Prince Fielder. Here's the RBI rankings for the last 30 days in the AL. He's choking now, and will choke come October, just not past the first day or two, because the Skankees won't make it that far.

9 down, 9 to go.
If we sweep this weekend, then no matter how we do against the Yankees the rest of the year, we will split the overall contest in case of division contest.

That would sure put pressure on Joe and the boys, because then a single more loss for them against the Sox would mean they would HAVE to beat the Red Sox overall to get in the playoffs.

Oh, and if the current setup holds true, we win 12-6 for the year. :D

You don't honestly believe he yelled 'hah'.

Nobody does.

While we're at it, where's Clemens this weekend? Seems like if he really wanted to help the Yankees, he'd pitch in the Sox series.

Pitching Matchups:

Friday - Wakefield vs Wang
Saturday - Schilling vs Mussina
Sunday Beckett vs Pettite

I think Sunday's matchup is certainly the pick of the 3 - even though I will have to suffer through Joe Morgan's ramblings to watch it.

Even if the Yankees sweep (which I don't think they will) they will be still be 10.5 games behind.

My prediction, Sox take 2 out of 3.

With Giambi out injured do you think the Yanks will use this to start Damon at DL to save his body and play Cabrera in CF?

I'd like to see the bullpen get some more work. With the starters going into the seventh and eight innings, they haven't really been tested over a stretch. Papelbon needs to get in there and keep that shoulder strong. He'll be crucial to any post season success. With Wakefield, you live by the knuckleball and you die by it.When it's fluttering and dancing,he's almost unhittable. When it's not,it's batting practice. Schilling's start will be big too.He needs to get on a roll going into the All Star break. He had a horrible second half last year. I say two out of three Sox.With the loss going to Wakefield..

Eventful week for A-Rod. Caught "cheating" off the field, then caught "cheating" on the field. :D

If it was cheating why hasn't he been fined or punished? Some may say it was dirty, but as for cheating? Nothing I have read states that it's cheating. As I said before- it's brilliant- he earned his team a few more runs.
