And the Red Sox fans are any better, all they do is complain about how it took 86 years to win anything.

God I hate Yankees fans. You're all gloating about a-rod now hitting all these home runs, but as soon as October comes and he goes 3-29 like he did last year, you're all going to be booing him again.

While I don't hate Yanks fans (since I don't hate myself), you do have a valid point. Unfortunately, that point has been made time and time again.

A couple of points here-

1- To be a Yankee, a player HAS TO do great in the post season. That's just how it is. ARod has yet to do that, time will tell.

2- I never liked the guy, as that picture shows (a great picture, by the way). He can be a crybaby and I think he follows the money waaaaay too much.

3- #2 being said, he has made some CLUTCH hits this year- and that's what really counts. He hasn't been the crybaby of the past (at least yet) and he is starting to grow on me a bit.

4- He is the highest paid player in the game, playing on the winningest (I am using it, regardless of if that is a word or not!) team in baseball- you have to believe people will boo him when he does bad. It's natural.

And the Red Sox fans are any better, all they do is complain about how it took 86 years to win anything.

O man don't even get me started on Red Sox fans- thos epeople are vicious! At least in New York you can get away with wearing a Boston jersey- try wearing a NY jersey in Boston- you will get killed.

Red Sox fans are envious of Yankee fans because Yankee fans have been spoiled for ever and the Red Sox wish they had that. Boston has always been riding in the back seat and they want the glory so they get annoyed with the Yankees.

Sox fans definitely used to be, but not in the last few years. Red Sox fans honestly don't give a **** about how many world series the yankees have won like 40 years ago. The important thing as that we won more recently than the yankees. :p

Here's a few reasons why many Red Sox fans hate the yankees and their fans:

1. There are tons of yankee fans who are just bandwagon fans. Bandwagon fans suck.

2. A lot of yankees fans (many of them are the bandwagoners) are fair-weather fans. when something starts going bad, (for example: a-rod in the post season), they start booing and give up.

3. the evil empire. Steinbrenner trys to buy championships by outbidding and paying a ******** of money to make a team full of allstars. (arod a few years ago)

4. Stealing players from the red sox. Clemens, Damon (he sucks anyways), etc.

I could go on even more, but I don't feel like it.

I have nothing against the dedicated yankees fans (except that they are yankees fans :p) who have supported their team unconditionally just like many Red Sox fans over those 86 years.

I agree with you there, but that's very common in all of baseball **ahem Atlantan's I'm pointing at you**

Thats not what I was hearing a few years ago...

The Yankees never stole Damon the Red Sox gave him up, Kinda like what they did with Boggs, Ruth. I remember that Clemans was a Blue Jay before NY so the Yankees never stole him.

I seem to think that a lot of Red Sox fans jumped on the wagon after 04. I would argue that the Red Sox fans were jumping ship last year after the sox got swept 5 in a row last year by the Yankees. It goes both ways not just Yankee fans.

The Red Sox are also building an evil empire of their own spending what was it 100 mil for a Pitcher?

The one thing about Red Sox fans I hate is that they always blame everyone else but their own team for the way they play. Rather then blame NY why not spend some of your own money and keep these players around. Red Sox fans are fickle, they cheer when they are winning but once the team falls out of the playoff race they go run and hide until next year.

**** the pink hats.

That was a one time thing. Theo finally realized he's going to have to spend big money in order to keep up with the yankees. At least it's paying off.

His contract was only 52 million anyways, not like a-rod's $200+ million.

What was the signing fee? 50 mil.
Most of Arod's contract is still being paid by the Rangers.

I don't think Yankee fans give up, but they let it be known that a player is not playing well. And why not? People go to see their team win, and when a player is not helping they shouldn't be cheered.

Once the Red Sox won the World Series in '04, everyone came up to me and said "Go Red Sox" or "Red Sox are better." None of these people talked about the Red Sox throughout the year, but they called me a bandwagon fan (I have never liked any other team besides the Yankees, this starting when I was a Yankee for Little League). Please these people couldn't wait for the bandwagon to drive by to pick them up.

I see it here now.As I've said all along, the pink hat yahoos are out in force in Boston now. They were the ones first in line to buy all the Sox gear the morning after the Series. They have no clue about the game, could care less about any other game that doesn't involve the Red Sox in it.They don't even know who Grady Little is,nevermind Bucky Dent..They are the typical bandwagon riders. The first Sox losing streak, and they'll go back to sipping lattes at Starbucks with Muffy and Buffy etc..And Sox fans need to stop leveraging the 04 season. It's done. No different than Yankee's fans that keep leveraging their series wins.Don't live in the past..It's a sign of getting old...

As a life long Yankee fan I will respect the long time Red Sox fan, I have a family full of them so I know what they go through every year. The bandwagon fan, both teams have them, drive me nuts. They don't know the history or really anything about the game in general.

I love all this talk of fair weather fans. New York and Boston are the two cities with probably the smallest percentage of fair weather fans. Baseball is so much bigger in these two cities than most other places...

That's definitely true. Sox, Yankees, and Cubs have the most dedicated fans.

Currently in the bottom of the 4th, Sox leading 4-0.

Nothing like a Sox-Yanks game to get the summer feel back.

Posada just got a hit. I'm slightly upset now.

Oh well, Mussina's getting lit up tonight anyhow. Can't have it all :D

Go SOX!

Wow are we sucking today. Good job only getting 1 run out of the bases loaded with only 1 out n the eight. Pathetic. I will say, though, that I LOVED that hard slide ARod did into second to break up that double play. He practically elbowed him in the boys. Nice!

Yeah, he did. Dirty player.

Pap = lights out. Kid brings the heat and knows where to put it.

Very excited about this player's future in the Red Sox organization.

9th inning K's are always nice too. :)

Dan Duquette is to blame for Clemens going to the Jays (and the yankees after that). Twilight my ass!
Damon was sort-of stolen. The Yankees offered a bigger contract than the Sox did, and he took it, contrary to his "I'll never play there" remark earlier in the season. As for his talent, he's one of the best leadoff hitters in the game, and has a decent glove, but a woefully weak arm. I can't say I've ever seen anyone else be cut off by another outfielder...

Anyways, Jeter struck out looking on 3 pitches from Papelbon. Sox win 7-3. :D

2 walks each for Okajima and Papelbon though, plus an ER for Hideki too. they must not be getting enough innings...

Papplebon had to work for it tonight tho. Might not be available tomorrow if he is needed. Mussina just blew tonight.
