Kind of a mediocre performance.
I thought the Red Sox picked him up to be the big ace not the number 3.

And he will be eventually, but the nice thing is that there is no pressure on him to be the ace immediately, since the sox rotation is so deep he has time to adjust to pitching the US.
Yes, he has probably been a little underwhelming so far given all the hype, but he has been good enough to keep them in the game, which is more than I can say for the yankees starters (when was the last time the pitched into the 6th inning?).

Matsuzaka gave up 4 runs in the 4th, but that's it. Not a bad performance, but not his best either.
It was good Yankee pitching.![]()

I don't understand why Torre wont just leave a pitcher in. Wong was pitching well enough to go into the 7th. He only had 80 something pitches. Sometimes I think that he wants to get fired. How about that good Yankee pitching today?
He has proven time and again that he can't manage the team when they are in a pinch. He over manages and finds a way to lose. I don't understand why he wont just leave a starter in to take a beating once in a while to rest the pen that is being over worked. The team won't win until the pitching fixes itself and the more the pen is over worked the longer its going to take for that to happen.Whats all this talk of Torre getting fired? I thought y'all loved the man.

2 words, Billy Martin.Hard for the starting pitching to right itself while it's currently in a game. If they're taking a beating they are probably gonna remain off-kilter. We're running into the same issue currently with the Braves, it Bobby's been letting our two weak pitchers go into the 5th before pulling them. But our bullpen has been way overused of late.
Torre has a .536 win percentage, thats not amazing, but it's not awful either. Can you really drop a team staple like that?
