I bought a $8 thin clear TPU case as well just because I wanted to be safe, but after putting it on I really miss the smaller form factor, looks, and feel of just the phone. Besides, these clear cases get covered in oil and fingerprints easily, dust gets trapped behind them which can actually damage the phone, plus it makes it look awful. I'm going to take my case off and stick with just the glass screen protector for now. I did the AUP so small nicks aren't a concern for me, but even with a case you can easily shatter your phone, just depends how it falls on the ground.

I'm not so much worried about the glass shattering. I'm more worried about the scrapes, nicks, dents, etc. These are what will kill my resale ability/value.

I normally order a case and some days its on and some days it's off. I usually have the plus size model but ended up with a regular 7 this time, for now, and the matte black is a little slippery but you just kind of get used to it.

I have no idea why many are saying the Matte Black is more slippery than the other colors. I have a Matte Black 7 Plus and it's not any more slippery than my Gold 6 Plus. If anything i feel my Gold Plus was way more slippery.

Caseless on MB since Sept 18th but I've gone caseless before with other phones.

I make sure to grip the sides and I'm more conscious of the phone in my hand when I'm using it. When it's not, it goes into my pocket or purse. I've brought dresses with deep pockets specifically so it will fit in without sticking out (so it doesn't fall out accidentally).

I also have learned multitasking with my phone in hand is not an awesome idea.

Just got the sleeve today. It's a bit thicker than I'd like. Also without the phone in Tony cards just fall out to the sleeve. Not sure if I like it, may return it.

They gave you a 6 series sleeve. And it looks more bulk and hassles than a case.

I didn't read all the comments, but this is my opinion.

If you have AppleCare + then why not? I always purchase AppleCare so I don't have to worry about purchasing a bulky case for my phone. I would go caseless, but I know myself and if I see a scratch it's gonna drive me nuts. I recommend the moshi XT case! I love that case!

I went a few days without a case on my matte 7+. But... it got annoying over time being ultra careful where to lay it down. Took it to a concert and used a napkin to lay it down on the bar since I had it out to snap pictures. Or it sliding out of my pockets while sitting or getting in and out of my car. I have a coupe so it's lower center of gravity seating wise.

So i gave in and just got a damn midnight blue silicone case lol. I'll use it daily and perhaps while out at night with the fiancé I'll go without a case.

My phone slipped out of my pants the other day at the gym without a case on it. Luckily it was a rubber floor, but that sucker shot out. I was wearing those dri fit type Nike pants, that material with the aluminum iPhone is like a launch pad. I wear them often casually so that's why I was having trouble with my phone sliding out of my pants in my car :/

Side note- I really like the feel of the silicone cases from apple. I swear they are a tad less tacky compared to last years I had on my 6s+. But JUST enough grip.

so, last week I bought a new Ferrari...a little more expensive then a iPhone.
Yesterday I slapped a huge ugly TPU case around my Ferrari, now I dont see anything of that Ferrari anymore... Ah well, at least its protected now

bottom line: my 6th day now with my JetBlack iPhone 7,no scratches (I dont put my iPhone in the same pocket as my keys and coins)
Ofcourse I am going caseless. A case completely ruins my user experience of this beautiful design iPhone.
(have AppleCAre+ for my jetblack iPhone)

Have you developed any small little hairline scratches yet ?

Have you developed any small little hairline scratches yet ?

no visible (hairline) scratches.....maybe if I put my iPhone under a very bright light up to my nose (but why should I?)
Still rocking the iPhone naked ofcourse.

I see you have yours on pre order.... I'll guarantee you, you gonna lover your new jetblack friend ;) and hopefully you'll receive it very soon!

So I'm sat at my desk at work and really cant stand the look of the apple silicone case on my beautiful matt black plus! So Ive taken it off! ive never used my phone without a case and am a little bit concerned to say the least....who else has gone caseless and how are ypu finding it in terms of grip and scratches etc?

Are you going caseless because you want to show off to others? Or is it for your own satisfaction? If you are trying to show off, most likely no one is going to care. Keep your case, protect your iPhone investment

Oh yeah, lol, I need to change my signature. I received mine on the 19th. Reason why I was asking if because I'm rocking my naked as well. Because so far, the ones I could see, are with the light shinning on my iPhone, otherwise I can't tell they are there so I'm happy lol.

Here's the thing though...

Why do any of us buy one color over the other?

Why buy the latest one that is "lighter" or offers the "newest color" if it's not for that fact, and to enjoy it?

I can't speak for the person you quoted but I know I don't keep mine in a case because I truly enjoy it in its caseless form for myself. I like that it's thin and all black in the back. If I were going to put a case on it, I might as well have dived for the jet black so when it's time to resell I would get more $$ out of it.

Same for when I had the 6s, I went caseless or the thinnest form of case possible so that I could enjoy it.

Some folks may want to keep theirs locked up tight for resell value but I always end up keeping my phones...and either my family will use it or friends will...I myself have used friends' phones when I got mine stolen (twice) so I always believe in paying it forward and if anyone of my friends or family needed a phone for whatever reason, I'll give mine to them.

Here's mine. Decided to take off the Best Skin Ever as it looked awful. Am using a Joli sleeve too.

Arrived on 22nd Sept. (26 Sept-3rd Oct originally)

Caseless since iPhone 2g. No issues. Except for work though. Here my phone would scratch and crack in a week. Lifeproof has helped me through the years.

Soooo, case less except for the times when it's in a case? And when it is in a case to prevent scratching and cracking it's in a big case?

This ^ lol, you can't claim caseless but then put it in a case like 80% of the time.

The iphone 7 cover is useful for drop-protector! got a 88% off one from dealsplus deals.

Case 8 hours a day mon-fri. Otherwise without. Thought I was being clear. As most people don't work in construction and my point being that I don't use a case when I'm not at work I don't really understand your post.

Edit: If you want to be precise that's 23% of a year.
