PSA: I use my JB 7+ naked all the time. Took it to Apple Store to get something checked out. Genius took it to the back and then brought it back to me at the table. She placed it on table (no microfiber cloth which at the time I didn't notice) and then proceeded to clean the bezel edges using a small brush. Midway through she says "I should place it on the cloth so it doesn't scratch up". Guess what happened? It's got quite a few scratches on the back.

Took quite some time of me waiting but they saw the damage and made a "one time exception" and ordered a replacement. Had to speak with manager and the lead technician. I wasn't mad but wasn't going to leave there without a replacement since it was not scratched by me. I understand it will scratch at some point but not by an Apple Store employee. I'm glad they replaced it with minimal "bitching" from me.

TL;DR: If you're not going to use a case, make sure ALL who handle your phone take the utmost care of it, even a Genius.

Buy a slim case. If you don't have Apple Care, then you shouldn't be crazy enough to go naked. I used to have a screen protector but i removed it.

Just ordered a 7 plus silver w/AppleCare. Mine will be naked. I don't like cases.

Semi naked. Got a clear skin wrap all around from amazon for like $9. I'm pretty careful with my phone so I'm not at all too worried about dropping it. Just worried about scratches

Didn't use a case with the 6, haven't bought one for the 7. Just too darn purdy to cover up, this thing.

Even though many here admit they are going case-less. The truth is, nearly everyone out there uses a case. I work at a university and I see lots of students and academics with their phones. So far, I saw one person that used his iPhone without a case. But one one later, he dropped his phone. After paying for his replacement, he too now has a case on.

Don't take my word, next time you are in crowded places, like on a bus, look around and see how many case-less phones out there.

To add another point I forgot to mention I'm pretty sure keeping a case on my 6 damaged the aluminum, as it trapped in debris and scratched the surface.
My 6 has more scratches from hard items getting trapped in the case than from the few drops it has had.

I just realized I'm an idiot. I spent the $129 or whatever on Apple Care+ and then still bought $50 cases and a $40 screen protector from Apple. My screen protector cost more than replacing my screen with Apple. :( Old habits die hard. I think I might go naked.

I've been pretty happy with my "naked compromise". AppleCare+, a Tozo case (similar to the Peel but far less pricey), and a glass screen protector.

I had a thicker Spigen TPU case on it for the first week but it was so much heavier and clunkier. The Tozo case will keep the aluminum from getting scratches at least, and the glass protector on the front means I can wipe my screen on jeans, t-shirt, etc, and just swap out the protector when it gets icky. :)

I went caseless until I dropped my 6Plus on concrete. Now I enjoy a case on the phone, also because I use a magnetic holder in my car and the case hides the metal plate that I need to install in order for the magnet to work.

Same thing happened to me. I was going caseless on my JB 7+ until I dropped it from 5 feet on to concrete. Nothing happened to the phone physically, but I figured I tested the fates and immediately went to Best Buy to get a case. Currently using a clear/dots Kate Spade case until my Spigen one ships next week.

Went caseless for a day. Slipped out of my hand but I managed to save it before it hit the ground. It was hardwood floors so I doubt it would of done much damage but still.
