Kidding aside, this is what the Android world SHOULD be like: a variety of different designs fitting different specific needs. It’s such a lost opportunity that everyone is trying to make the same phone. Of course this gets lost in the usual “it’s not for ME so it should never be built!” posts.

“The results are in. An overwhelming 99% of people say the phone is horrible and they would never buy such a thing.”

“GOOD ENOUGH, WE’RE AIMING FOR NO MORE THAN 1% MARKET SHARE ANYWAY”

What’s wrong with aiming for 1% market share?

One day I will start a poll, how much more would you pay for a 10000 mah Battery in iPhone XS without any product size increase.

while the execution is poor (per specs quoted), at least this represents a move in the right direction in terms of mobile phone size/weight philosophy. For too long, Apple has pushed their religion of "lighter" and "thinner" with no real justification. WHY does it need to be thinner? It makes it harder to hold, easier to drop, and compromises battery life. The focus for the last several years has been aesthetic-driven versus functionality-driven, in direct opposition to early Apple philosophy.

Here is the answer, which is actually really impressive to say the least:

Energizer also told us that, thanks to its 18W charger, the phone can charge from empty to full in around two hours.”

https://www.expertreviews.co.uk/mob...nds-on-review-a-brick-of-a-phone-with-a-beast

That would indeed be impressive because it would break the laws of physics if I am not mistaken. Going with 3.6V Lithium batteries 18000mAh would translate to about 64Wh. Charging that in 2hours with 18W of power does not compute.

Can we just go back to swappable battery. Really is the best trade off for those who need days of battery.
Is a swappable battery really so much better than a powerbank for nightly charging? Assuming that the phone's internal battery is large enough to only require nightly charging.

You'll need more raw battery capacity with a powerbank than with swappable batteries because of the power you loose due to charging inefficiency [to achieve the same total battery life]. But as the number of days (and thus number of swappable batteries) increases, the total-size-to-battery-capacity ratio moves towards favouring a single large external powerbank compared to several, individually-wrapped swappable batteries. And for a given battery capacity, a phone with swappable batteries will be slightly larger than one with a fixed battery. And sealing a phone is also easier with a fixed battery.

This product is awesome. Well done!

Whoops. I mean I would like it if it was a battery case for my iPhone - I just realized it’s an android phone! Not just a power bank case. So... not so interested anymore.
I guess you could use it as purely a powerbank.

This is a stick in a car for emergencies phone but with a steep price. Why?
How about a stick-in-a-car-for-emergencies powerbank? Or simply a stick-in-a-car cigarette-lighter-charging-cable?

And the first comment completely nails it. Exactly what I was thinking. I'm sure someone, somewhere, will find this useful, but for 99%+ of users, a battery pack will be far more useful.
Yeah, the advantage of only needing to carry one device (instead of phone+powerbank+charging-cable) and not having to plug it in the evening very rarely will outweigh the disadvantage of having to handle a much thicker phone during use.
