This is why the iPhone 5 is being delayed, and why Apple wants to stop Samsung...

Why is it every time someone speaks highly of a non-Apple product, some fanboy gets his feelings hurt and concludes that Apple is being slammed? Please tell me where in my post I am SLAMMING Apple. Laughable.

The people in this forum reacted negatively to your post because this is an apple forum. For the record I have owned a Samsung mobile phone and loved it, but I hate the constant posting by newcomers here who join the forum simply to predict gloom and doom for the iPhone. Perhaps when you've been posting here long enough so that people begin to trust your opinion, you'll seem less like a troll. Until then, although your intentions might be purely benevolent, you are one in a constant litany of newbies posting in this forum trying to push some non-Apple product. I venture some of these newbies are paid to do so, and I find their ham-fisted attempts at manipulation both laughable and insulting. Don't add to their chorus.

Every once in awhile I get the itch for something different such as a nexus s or galaxy phone, but when I realize that my home has everything Apple in it, I realize that I enjoy being able to use the devices together, and think the Apple ecosystem is a nice feature. That in itself will probably convince me to stay with Apple.

Competition is a great thing, and we should all be glad that other phone manufacturers are making great strides. If they didn't, would Apple be as motivated as they are to stay in the top of the pack?

No kidding, just syncing my iphone to my new computer ended up being a nightmare. Even though I followed a tutorial, itunes still managed to completely screw up all my folders in the process. We're talking about using an iPhone with a Mac by the way...

Still my favorite phone and computer on the market but let's not pretend that they're perfect :)

Was this going from a mac to a new mac? I did this recently. Connected my macbook to new macbook via usb, used the migration software, Started itunes, registered computer, and then hooked up ipod, ipad, and iphone and synced. perfect.

There is no doubt Apple took their sweet time to sue Samsung. I have no doubt it's because Samsung will be bringing out new devices that will truly threaten their position in the mobile market. I've made it clear that I will not be getting another iPhone to replace my 3GS, and GS2 is the reason why. The new Galaxy Tabs and more importantly the Galaxy S2 phone will crush the competition. The performance on this phone is absolutely ridiculous. Especially how it just flies through FLASH heavy browsing. All hate aside, you truly have to be a blind fanboy (of any brand) to not take this thing seriously as an option to be your next phone.

You really have NO clue what you're talking about. Apple moves to the beat of their own drum. The Galaxy S2 is a good phone spec wise but lets see how it does in the real world when people get there hands on it.

What I want to know is what's make this this Samsung S2 stand out from the other newer Android phones?

It's nice and all...but I was getting that kind of performance on my 3GS (and now on the iPhone 4).

And Flash? No thank you. I don't think I'd ever want it on my phone. I only have it installed on my computer for when there's absolutely no other option on a website (and have ClickToFlash so that no Flash loads unless I specifically click on it).

I've tried 4 different android phones before I came back to iOS and I'd have to say you could go either way. Only key differences for me are:
- HID Bluetooth keyboard support built into iOS
- Netflix app that streams movies
- Navigon app for GPS directions that I prefer over google maps navigation
- Better battery life
- Easier to sell on Craigslist for a good price (even 1 year later)

I could care less about widgets or customization since I keep my screen very clean of clutter. The "openness" of android is just as open on my iPhone since I jailbreak.

Those videos are real world performance. That's a retail GS2; you can tell by the Samsung name on the front, as the pre production model doesn't have that. What separates this device from ALL OTHER DEVICES (not just other Androids) is the total combination of: Size and Weight, 2MP front Camera AND 8MP rear camera, 1.2 GHz Dual Core, Extreme High Quality of 1080P Video and Camera, and the most amazing display on the market for size and image quality. Nothing comes close to SuperAmoled Plus. Unbelievable.
Now don't take this as a jab at Apple or any other manufacturer. I'm sure all smartphones out there will be plenty good for most. I just like doing a little more research before I put down anywhere near $600-$1000 for a phone. This phone is better equipped than a lot of tablets and it won't be cheap. If any other phone attempted to offer an OLED screen, you'd be paying a lot more. This is the advantage of being a true innovator in technology. Develop it and manufacture it, all IN HOUSE. That's a true OEM. How many others can say this.

The iPhone does not suck. It's an awesome phone, one of the best out there. It's just that, for me, I feel the GS2 is a lot better than the iPhone 4 in every way. And that's expected, as it's a next gen phone. That being said, I just don't think the iPhone 5 will improve on it as much as the GS2. But then again, this recent delay may point to Apple upping their game more than planned. I know a lot of iPhone users say they hate screens bigger than 3.5 inches, but I'm sorta thinking they will also rave about a 4 inch screen as soon as Apple adopts it. As much as some may want to believe, Apple has to follow the market (not beat to it's own drum as a lot like to believe) as the market becomes more competitive. Beating to your own drum is a luxury you have when the competition is not that heated. But times change. That's simple logic. Just ask RIM.

Yeah.... remember when they said that about the Blackberry Storm?

... and the Storm 2?

... and the Droid?

... and the Droid X?

... and everything HTC has ever made since the iPhone?

I could go on and on, and yet it never actually happens, for various reasons. usually because the interface is clunky, or because Apple comes out with something that works well and keeps people buying their phones.

I'll give you credit: at least you didn't use the cliche "iPhone killer."

Anyway, best of luck with your GS2, and every other shiny slab of plastic that catches your eye weeks after that. :)

Sarcasm fail? Samsung ironically manufactures many of the components for the iPhone.

Not for much longer, I would guess. Between the lawsuit and Sony execs making a few flip comments about who they're supplying parts to, I have a feeling Samsung won't be a vital part of the supply chain for the next iOS models.

Glad you think this of Apple. It is true.

Seriously? Apple is not a true OEM. But whatever makes you happy. :D

A Samsung TV is a Samsung TV. A Samsung Monitor is a Samsung Monitor. A Samsung Phone is a Samsung phone. A Samsung Processor is a Samsung processor. A Samsung Appliance is a Samsung Appliance. Do you see the pattern?
Same cannot be said for Apple. Apple is not OEM. Sorry to burst your bubble.

The phone isn't sold yet thats what I meant by real world performance When people start using the phone that's when you truly find out if it's a good phone or not. I seen plenty of phones look great when tested then turn out to be **** when sold. You might feel that these Samsung phones are great but there's a lot of Android user who think Samasung phones are pure junk. I'm not a fan of Android at so it doesn't bother me one bit.

I find it funny that you say that these Android phones are better than the iPhone in every area. There's no way at all anyone can say that unless you're a fanboi. Both OS and hardware have there pros and cons.

With that say I wish you the he's of luck when you do get your Andriod phone

Same cannot be said for Apple. Apple is not OEM. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Make sure to come back here and troll once Samsung comes up with their own app store as good as Apples...

Okay, so it seems you're a fanboy too a ignorant one to add. You're on a Apple forum slamming Apple while you are bragging about buying a samsung galaxy. Here we are all Fanboys. Go back to you're I make crappy plastic devices forum.

I hope you don't own other Samsung products, because you will be set up for dissapointment. Poor HDTV's, poor PC's, poor blu ray players. I once owned a Samsung DLP HDTV. One of the biggest mistakes I ever made. What a lousy piece of "innovation"

Well, I doubt that's what making it be delayed. But I agree with you, it'll be one of the top smartphones of the year, no doubt about that.

It really is a high end phone and any comparison with the iPhone is completely logical and, in terms of spec/hardware, both are at the same level, in my eyes.

Don't worry about all the haters, you are, after all, giving an opinion 'against' an Apple product on an apple fanboy website ;)

Thats a dope phone! but im staying with the iphone.

This video does make me want a Galaxy Tab! Does it function the same way?

Hal Jordan's first post on this forum was about his ipod problem. His first post in the ipad section is all about Samsung and how it will take over the industry. His first post in the iphone section is this rant about Samsung. He is still upset about his ipod, so therefore everything Apple is bad, and everything about Samsung is great. He has been a troll since day one. Just check his stats. Yea, that samsung tab is really blowing away the ipad and ipad 2.
