Yes, but what can you do? I met a friend today who also bought a 17 PM last week. In short: her panel is a GVC, typically reddish, and the greenish tint is clearly visible in the lower third when tilted. So, the usual. My GH3 is worlds better, but even it has slight color shifts when you change the angle. So what's left to do? Exchange it a hundred times? There seem to be no or hardly any Samsung panels in the PM series. I'm just going to accept it now; otherwise, you simply have to give it back and buy a Samsung Galaxy or something else. ;)
Just curious, does your friend notice it or does it bother them?

So, because Apple says it's normal justifies it? What are they supposed to say? They get away with crap QC because they are Apple.
No because unlike you, I know that OLED has its limitations just like any technology.

If Apple says colour-shift is expected then it is what it is. If you don’t like it then you are welcome to purchase from another company that promises a perfect display or buy a phone with a different panel type.

If a LCD manufacturer said “it’s normal to see dark colours appear as grey” you wouldn’t then complain that “the richest company has poor QC” would you? It’s just a limitation on the technology.

What is unacceptable would be to get a display with unevenness when viewed straight on. You know, something that Apple hasn’t defined as “normal”.

Nothing you can do other than accept it or play lottery, sadly. Here's my Oppo, what an OLED phone should look like.

I know that OLED has its limitations as does LCD, thanks for needlessly judging me . I'm not criticizing you or anyone else here. I'm criticizing Apple. This isn't about limitations on technology. Some off-axis shift is 100% normal on these OLED screens. Excessive green shift is not and I'll never accept it. This was an issue in early OLED phones and shouldn't be an issue any longer. My iPhone 17PM is stellar, not perfect, I don't expect perfection.

It's obviously the same for her as for millions of other iPhone 17 PM buyers: she didn't notice it. And she would never have thought to tilt the iPhone forward to check for a green tint. For her, the slightly reddish display is fine. After all, it's relatively uniform.

Edit: Here is a photo. Taken in the dark at maximum brightness. Left is the phone of my friend, right is my GH3. You can see the differences to the phone of Harthag above.

I notice the slight shift on the phone on the left. Honestly though, if it was me, I'd be fine with both of these displays. The green tint doesn't look excessive to me based on the photos. I've seen *far* worse.

So, update on the phone I've exchanged back at the very end of October. It was a silver 512GB PM with a GVC panel which had a terrible grain, visible to the naked eye at a normal viewing distance and grain lines at red, white and gray tones. I also had eye strain and dizziness after mere moments of looking at it.

I just received the second one, same specs, the panel this time is a GH3. Way better. No eye strain, no dizziness, grain is there but you really have to bring your nose to the screen to see it, and appears only at gray, but again, you can't even see it unless you glue your eyes to the screen and even then it's quite hard to see.

Colours are great, the green tint is there but whatever honestly - it's only visible if you tilt your screen, besides that you have a uniform panel. Touchscreen sensitivity is great, I have legit no reasons to complain.

I've found a keeper!

Another GH3 keeper! 🤩

There’s green tint on the Oppo too. You should post a photo of the Oppo next to your iPhone.

Here's a photo with them together about 25% brightness from an angle, top of the phones closer to me. I'm aware the iPhone 17PM (G9N) looks piss yellow here, it isn't, and the Oppo is much cooler. Both screens are great in my opinion.

Oppo looks green at the bottom too, so what you talking about?

Guys, what do you think? Yes or no? Every Samsung display I had was pinkish at the bottom and this one(G9Q) makes no exception.

For reference

Like I said, panel is a GH3

(Excuse the picture quality, my old phone is a 5 year old Note20 Ultra)
