iPhone 18 and rumors thereof.

Seriously… OS 26 an its new features. I hope Apple will improve the journal app further now that it’s available cross platform.

Simple request - that is does not suck as much as 18.x. As the features increase the quality continues to hit the floor. It does not have to be this way.

The ability to forcibly prevent specific apps (games) from ever initiating Bluetooth and audio. The ability to force specific apps to “ask every time” before initiating Bluetooth and audio.

When wearing Bluetooth hearing aids not having those options is downright dangerous.

Oh wait, Apple doesn’t care and those settings aren’t there.

In all honesty the original goal to achieve the Apple Vision Pro ui which is beautiful has failed in an epic way with Liquid Glass - if any boomers may remember aqua mac os it’s like a rival of that 20 years later

Not a boomer (that would be my parents), I’m Gen X thanks, but I remember Aqua/OS X. Heck even Millennials will remember it.

Aqua was actually really nice to use. I would squish the buttons and scroll bars slightly if I was in charge, make them slightly flatter instead of being so round, but colour wise and usability wise it was amazing.

I’ve not really been paying much attention to liquid glass – it can be a surprise next week. I just hope it doesn’t look like that god awful ugly Windows OS back in the day which was an attempt at copying Aqua. Don’t ask me the name/version because I can’t remember. Pretty sure it had the option to revert to a more Windows 2000 look though.

I'm on Tahoe now since the RC came out. I've installed them on a Macbook Pro,iPhone 16,iPad 4th gen.
No complaints whatsoever.

I'm liking most of the new stuff, and disliking just a few details. I'm discovering new features every day, which seems to me rather difficult if you're not using Tahoe...

Live Translation, if it works, will be a game changer for me. My wife and (of course) her family are from China. She speaks rudimentary English, I speak (barely) rudimentary Mandarin. Her family speaks no English at all. If Live Translation works, I will be able to converse with her family for the first time. My guess is it will be slow, prone to errors and kludgy for the first couple of years, but with Apple now needing to keep up with Google's version, they won't just abandon it in its first or second iteration. If they do, and Google really takes off with this, which they likely will, that will be time for me to consider leaving the Apple Universe. I can foresee in 5 years or less, it being fluid, immediate, no gap in time, and maybe even speaking in your vocal intonations.
Great, you’ll finally get to know each other 😜

Auto updates turned off, so I'm ready for stable iOS 26. Question is how long will they support iOS18 and macOS 15.x. Hopefully until they revert Vista stuff to something acceptable.

The new photos app as it looks less cluttered
Good example how to convince people to upgrade to latest software version. For every new major release: fix some problems, introduce new bugs. Apple after Jobs chose same route that Android phones providers went since the beginning.

I only really use iOS as a phone, iMessage, photos and safari and I’ve never really had any issues with iOS but I suppose that’s because I use it at a basic level… I don’t game or anything intensive.

The photos app is still good for me but I did just find it cluttered last year

I'm expecting a few surprises when it launches next week. There's always one more thing with Apple, and I think it will be a radically improved AI-driven Siri experience.

Liquid glass. It makes the iOS 7 flat approach look old fashioned.

I was impressed at the WWDC unveiling. Less so when UX issues appeared in the public betas. But this seems mostly to be fixed.

No doubt I should wait until 26.1.

No doubt I will install it and regret it a little due to weird minor bugs.

But that’s been the story for me since iOS 6.

What am I waiting for? The basic ability to finally be able to move items with Option-X and Option-V. It's really frustrating not to have this, especially for a user coming from Windows. Even right-clicking on a file doesn't allow you to cut an item and paste it 😡
