Richter, this happened to me when I tried to use my full ~/Library/Mail folder. Did you have any plugins such as httpmail when you were in Panther? Try deleting the files they leave behind in the ~/Library/Mail/Bundles folder, and then starting Mail.
o.o that did the trick, thanx

anyone else having that "cut off buttons" in the System Prefs?

I've absolutely no problems whatsoever. I saw you mentioned in one of your earlier posts (right before this one) that Toast was not working correctly. Is that the basis for your "bananaware" comment?
The problems with Toast and other third-party apps are to be expected: updates will no doubt appear. What is extremely irritating is finding so many bugs within the OS. Just because it is a .0 release does not mean it does not have to work. I paid good money for a careless piece of work. I'm happy for you that your upgrade was flawless. Lucky you!

My iTunes widget is figedity the pause button does some random things when i press it, from pausing the song, to going to the first song in the playlist, to just pausing it for an instant and going back to playing it o_O

the way i fix it is i just close that widget and open it back up

that is so far the only thing i have come across that is weird in my install

When I scroll down to the end of a window in the Finder, the icons at the bottom are cut off a little. I have to make the window larger as it refuses to scroll down any more.

Other than that, Tiger is great!

P.S. - Not sure about your findings, but Tiger seems to have increased my Airport Express reception four fold. Anyone else see improved reception?

My Airport seems to have a stronger signal.4 bars almost all the time.On Panther I'd go from 1-3.

Airport is stronger for me as well. Took a while for it to get to 4 as for some reason it was at 1 bar last night after i installed Tiger, but now it is full.

Seems that my tiger was taking a nap the first day and is active tonight

I haven't noticed an *improvment* in signal strength - but I always got 4/5 bars around the house anyway. It's more accurate relating to quality though - before if I used the microwave, it would stay at 5 bars, but the actually connection would be hosed - dropping to like 256kbps. Now the meter reflects this, and drops to 1/2 bars.

Well, the only things I have found weird are: 1. Stuffit didn't work after the install. It would start the app, then die. 2. netzero does not seem to work properly in 10.4. For some reason it cannot communicate with the modem. I luckly do not use it but my mom does. I had to downgrade her system back to 10.3 to get netzero to work.

iChat 3 messes up when I pick my DV cam as my Microphone? I Select it, and the option to do so disappears, and it doesn't save the setting. :-(

so you guys gonna report this stuff to apple? or just talk about it.. hrm...

Great point.

If it doesn't get reported to Apple, it doesn't get fixed. Please take the time to let Apple know.

I know Tiger is buggy. So does Apple since .1 is less than a month away (the new pro apps require it.)

But let's work together to get as many bugs fixes into the early releases of Tiger, especially the little annoying things Tiger is riddled with.

Thanks. And I promise to do the same.

.mac and tiger

hi

in tiger mail wont accept a picture in your sig
all your mail defaults to the picture of a dog

how sad is that?

dead annoying bug i've found so far

What dog? Are you talking about the picture next to your name in the header of the message? That's the same picture as assigned to your account in system preferences (Under the Accounts tab) and you *can* change it.

As far as sending an inline picture as part of your sig, that's something that isn't possible in Rich Text or Plain Text mail (only in HTML mail). The fact that you can't do it has to do with that and not an error in Mail....

I am pretty sure you just have to reset your image again, mine is just the way it was before after i did my image again, it is your image in the address book.

I don't know if this is a bug or just not created into it, but the Core Image Fun House Effect Stack window does not have a scroll bar for when the effects end up too large than the screen height

Tiger gave me an anti-bug!

With Panther, my iMac (G5) crashed about every third time I double-clicked on a Finder icon. I went through three iMacs and three repairs, each taking a week a piece, and the problem kept recurring. It was nearly impossible to use the machine, unless I could find a way to avoid Finder. I had wasted nearly every waking hour since January trying to get it resolved somehow.

I was getting very depressed about it and regretted ordering Tiger. I was ready to throw the machine in the trash, believe it or not.

However, to my great joy, Tiger somehow fixed the problem. The iMac doesn't crash any more. (Knock on wood.)

So I guess this is an anti-bug!

Yeah - stuffit is hosed. Installed it 4x's now. It unstuffs the item (makes a folder for it and everything) - but for some reason you can't see the items. The window says "0 items" - but the folder still takes up a lot of space. Really weird. You'd think they'd have checked that a bit more considering all the .sit files out there.

Good points. Just wanted to let you know I had received a generic email from Roxio stating that Popcorn and Toast would be updated for Tiger but didnt say when. They did have 9 months though. Either way I finished backing up all the important stuff and decided to wait to install Tiger for a while.
