WHY???

It's clear to me you live in a reality distortion field as much as apple..... This is no psychological experiment. It's crappy, lazy, and uninspired design. A trend with apple these days. While I do agree it's tiring hearing people act to clairvoyantly predict jobs actions.... I think it's safe to say he wouldn't be fond of a case that looks like "depends for the iphone" that needs changed after a healthy lunch.

The new apple tv is another example. In 6 years, the only design change is.... bloating....
Pretty sad for someone to get so emotionally torqued up over a cellphone case...

Boring stuff. I have the 6s plus, force touch is boring.

Apple Pay....not revolutionary, but good addition.

Bigger screen? So what? It was inevitable. They just took what Samsung was doing (Korean manufacturer who copies).

Apple watch? Boring.

new Mac Pro? Boring. (they don't even update it).

MacBook 12"? Boring. Not a good seller.

Apple used to be a pragmatic company. They would take big leaps.

Now they are just streamlining all their products and everything is starting to look generic.

Apple doesn't lead the pact anymore, and that's due to Job's being gone. The guy was brilliant at what he did. He challenged everyone.

All baseless subjective personal opinions ....
Market numbers says a totally different story.

I have 450 cycles and still at 102% wouldnt call mine new. I think all the apps are just reading the same ios9 data or firmware data given to it. It doesnt appear to be accurate at all. The diagnostic tool that the genius bar uses I think just says normal or not. Altho I havent had it checked by them since ip5 when I looked at their tool it didnt show %
I don't know about your battery, but in my case Coconut, Battery Doc and the Apple tool are saying the same thing.
There is a measurement uncertainty as in every measure, but the value is pretty realistic.

I don't care about your obsessive compulsive disease. In my case two phones a year is the standard situation (personal and company's number), but I have to add another couple for my family (well, tbh my wife can take it a couple of years)

I know......you consistently dismiss everyone and everything except you own narrow viewpoint. You have a very limited exposure to phones....hence your narrow viewpoint.

I actually agree. I've owned MANY battery cases, for many models of iPhone, and I'm excited to receive my Apple battery case. A soft case like the silicone apple case I've had on my iPhone 6 for over a year.

Most cases are rigid, tough plastic that typically snaps together in two or more pieces. Bright LED lights that you can't disable while it's charging, and on/off switches that I've never understood the point of. This case fixes all of these issues, and is only thick where it has to be. It's not thick at the top and bottom where the battery isn't. Yes it's weird looking, but actually looks like it will be comfortable to hold.

The only drawbacks are it's less mAh than most of these cases, and it's expensive. Considering the smart features, partially slim profile, antennas, and lightning port, I'd say those things are easily ignored.

People need to get off their high horse about "design" and "Steven Jobs wouldn't have allowed this". This is a mostly elegant way of providing additional power and doing a decent job of it.

No, the most elegant way of providing additional power and doing a decent job is by making iPhone with larger battery, period.

Phones are my hobbie. People collect things for their hobbies......i collect phones. Sometimes I keep them but most of the time i sell them and wait for the next big thing :)
Its an addiction :)

This is not that crazy. I used to collect old Hewlett Packard programmable calculators.

Why are so many having a stroke over this? If you don't like it, don't buy it. You all act like putting out this case somehow tarnishes Apple. Its like because Apple put out an ugly case, all our iPhones are suddenly cr@p now.

I mean, seriously. Not every product a company puts out is going to be gold.

Why? That's very easy to answer.

Because Apple has spent countless time and resources convincing the public that they are special. That they are superior. That they are worth the high prices they charge. That only Apple has the style, and the style is crucial to ones enjoyment of the product. That razor thin shapes are a must have.

Because Apple has spent a vast amount, millions and millions of dollars building a world class company. Building a Brand, one of the world's top brands. A brand so well recognized that the mere mention of the word Apple, and many immediately think of hi-tech products, or iPhones rather than the Fruit that the word Apple is the definition of.

That fact alone, that "Apple" has been forever changed to mean iPhones first, and Apple (fruit) second in the minds of millions is a major accomplishment.

So when Apple get's lazy, when they decide that it's time to push the limits and dump a very ugly product into the market place, and STILL charge a high price, customers will comment.

A long time Apple customer, I am still very surprised at how Apple played this one.

They had to design it this way because of the patents Mophie has on phone battery cases. GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD.

Your commitment as an Apple excuse maker is impressive.

Other companies are very envious of how Apples emotionally attached customers... will speak up and defend the company just as though it were their own. Even BMW and Mercedes have failed to turn customers into walking testimonials.

Owning a few more crappy phones doesn't make your point more valid than mine...

Not owning as many phones makes you less experinced and your and views based on a narrow exposure to the subject matter. You saying they are "crappy phones" proves my point.
