"Hey, you must be very happy to see me."
-what?
"Oh, well... Because... Your jeans... Ehm..."
- oh that! No, no... It is just the way apple wants men to show their pockets...

Not owning as many phones makes you less experinced and your and views based on a narrow exposure to the subject matter. You saying they are "crappy phones" proves my point.
yes, those Android phones really are crappy phones ...
And your brag about owing dozens of phones every year doesn't make you any better (or more experienced) than others.
I'm just not wasting my money in buying a Nexus 6P, or even a Samsung's phone, for instance.

The Nexus 6P is as good as anything Apple has produced. At almost half the cost.

You really need to broaden your horizons. You have a very narrow viewpoint. Crappy to you is not crappy to others. Stop drinking he apple Kool aid and stop putting others choices down.

And sold in the US so if there was a patent then they would not doubt be pulled for patent infringement

they will be just not yet, its not a big enough threat to mophie for them to spend the $ in getting the products pulled yet, apple though another story

MUST you all argue like jealous schoolgirls over a piffling accessory topic? A lot of people need to do A LOT of growing up on MR.

What is it that you're looking for that wouldn't bore you?

Something innovative, something new that pushes boundaries. Doesn't have to be a new product.
Do you really think the iPad Pro is innovative? It's a niche product that won't sell too well.

Apple used to be about making products for people that they had no idea that they needed it until they got it.

Sure it is...just one letter to Amazon from their legal counsel and the infringing products would be gone......IF they had a patent that another company was infringing on. This is business 101 protecting your assets.

It's well known that Apple needs regular headlines... as they pay vast sums to the ad agency to set them up, so they can boast and pound their chest like an Aplha Gorilla.

They never hesitate to remind the world they are changing it, even if that's a mere mirage, this time, their ugly sub par, overpriced underdeveloped battery case has embarrassed them.

Now days after its debut, I'm still taken aback at how Apple would push this bad product past all the checkpoints designed to keep such cheap looking crap from seeing the light of day.

There's no way Ive approved this. It looks like he's checked out.

Maybe the same designer as this wildly successful and aesthetically pleasing iPhone accessory:View attachment 604673

I like those bright zany cases with the polka-dots effect. I can find my 5C easily in my handbag. I got a yellow one and it solves that visibility problem just fine. There's nothing else in my handbag looks ANYTHING like that!

As far as the battery case, call it what you like but when you need the extra juice it's nice to be able to swap it on without a hassle. How much time does anyone sane spend staring at the profile of their phone anyway. This thread is about 95% manufactured by cousins of trolls. I'm not a fan girl all the time but this thread brings it out, wow. Ciao!

Why should everyone have to carry a heavier, thicker phone whether they need the extra battery life or not?

"Why should everyone have to carry a heavier wider phone whether they need the extra screen or not?"

and we're back to "lets make everything modular" and plenty of cables.

Fact is, 1mm is nothing to iPhone6 design and it would bring a substantial amount of battery time.

on the other hand, wtih battery cases you have a lot of added bulk and unused space.

I know for a fact Apple makes A LOT of stuff internally, but anything that makes it out there, has to be approved by Ive and Tim.

I remember there was a short quote by Ive when he said (after Steve's death) if his work at Apple becomes boring, he will stop doing it, so I assume in a few years he'll be gone.

....and the world will be a sad place. The world lost something when Steve died.

So Apple has come full circle -- designing the iPhone without a user swappable battery from the beginning, selling us on the idea that there's no need for one, that most people can survive on one charge, and for heavier users there's almost always a cable around to charge up during the day. By offering this case themselves, they're acknowledging the need for additional battery life for many (after all why would they mass produce an accessory for a minority niche market), and instead of sliding off an access door and swapping out the internal battery, preserving the integrity of the design, they're promoting a tacked-on, piggy-backed external solution that destroys every bit of design effort Apple has not only put into the phone, but gushed over its beauty during keynote speeches, replete with almost pornographic imagery of the revered design language and innovation, sensuously featured in most of Apple's commercials.

Apple doesn't lead the pact anymore, and that's due to Job's being gone. The guy was brilliant at what he did. He challenged everyone.

you're misguided. ALL phones and ALL tablets before the iPhone/iPad had usability issues. apple took advantage of this and now it's a solved problem. if you're expecting another iPhone to WOW you as the first one, you'll be waiting a long time, even if Steve Jobs was still around. all we're seeing now are incremental improvements unless we invent mind reading technology or tactile-form touch screens.

the only important UX issues remaining is TV and a car. Apple is working on the car, and until content owners decide to give up some control, TV is still stuck in the past.

The new apple tv is another example. In 6 years, the only design change is.... bloating....

it's the fault of tv content owners. keep in mind, the iPhone was possible because Cingular (now AT&T) gave it a shot and gave up control. tv content owners need to relinquish their control on distribution for Apple to change TV. That's a tall order since you're not dealing with one content owner, you're dealing with hundreds.

I'd expect that further battery improvement for all sorts of portable gear is forthcoming. Everyone knows that everyone wants this. Consumer demand for better power supply has gone way past grousing about stuff like the chaos of cables and wall-wart spacehogs (and the shape of powerpacks). I have groused about the tight fit of a Mophie pack for an iPod touch but I was grateful for the thing anyway as it was an improvement over not having the juice when I needed it.

I'm willing to enjoy incremental improvements on any technology. It's that or build it myself. I'm not that clever so I'm a consumer. I do provide feedback and believe it helps shape what comes down the road. And, I'm an early adopter of tech when I can be, because I know there must be a version 1.0 before a 2.0, the 5.0 etc. can emerge.

This is MacRumors Apple consumers have been pretentious types since the Apple ][ days. It is a rite of passage to complain about the most petty foible of an Apple product release to become part of "The Cult" as coined by Guy Kawasaki.

Why is it their fault and not Apple's? Maybe Apple is asking too much? If there is no deal, both sides are to blame. Kind of like politics!
